The doors to the operating room swung open, and the doctors stepped out. The senior doctor removed his mask, revealing a tired but relieved expression. "Mr. Lucius is out of danger," he announced. "The bleeding was difficult to control initially, but the procedure went smoothly in the end. However, it will take some time for him to regain consciousness."
A collective sigh of relief swept through the group. Alekis turned to the doctor with a grateful tone. "Thank you for saving him."
The doctors nodded briefly before excusing themselves. A nurse approached them, clipboard in hand. "Mr. Lucius will be transferred to a private room shortly," she informed them. "But only one person can visit him at a time."
"You should go, Layla," Alekis said, resting a reassuring hand on her shoulder. "He needs you the most right now."
Layla nodded, quickly wiping the tears from her eyes. "Thank you," she murmured, silently thanking God for sparing Lucius's life.
