"Oh no, he can't be lying down like this. Otherwise, he will get a cold!" Olivia raised her hand to wipe the sweat off her face, quickly sat up, and covered him with a blanket.
She had no idea where the thermometer was, so Olivia looked at his sleeping face. She lightly bit her lip, gathered courage, and reached out to touch his forehead to see if he had a fever.
However, her hand recoiled as if burnt the moment she touched his forehead. How could he be so careless about his health? He got such a fever but still drank alcohol !
Olivia placed a fever reducer order online, but now she had to use a wet cold towel to cool him down.
Henry's tolerance for alcohol was good. When he got drunk, he just slept, but today was an exception. An upset stomach always led him to vomiting.
That night was torture for Olivia. She had never done these things before, whether it was helping him take medicine, cooling him down, or cleaning up the mess he vomited. She could not remember how many times she had run to the bathroom that night.
It wasn't until midnight that he finally quieted down.
Everything before him seemed like an illusory dream. Even with his eyes wide open, he couldn't make out who was in front of him. In a daze, he only saw someone wiping his forehead and hands and medicine and water.
Was it his wife, Emma?
When everything settled down, Olivia sighed deeply, turned off the light, and left his house.
The next morning, Henry woke up suddenly. He had been getting up at 6:15 am every morning since he worked without fail. Today, when he opened his eyes and looked at the clock, he realized he had overslept. It was almost 8:00 am.
After taking a shower, as he wiped the water off his body, his memory suddenly flashed back.
Last night, Olivia came to his house, and he…
Henry's hand pressed against the mirror.
He shouldn't have done anything wrong last night, right? He could remember nothing. If something had really happened between him and Olivia, she should still be on his bed, right?
Anyway! Damn it, Henry, you made a big mistake last night!
Wiping his body dry, he returned to the bedroom and sat on the edge of the bed, once again recalling the events of last night.
After confirming that he had not been intimate with her, he finally relaxed and began to wear his clothes.
However, as he passed through the living room, he caught sight of the shirt he wore yesterday that was hanging on the balcony.
Could it be that Olivia had washed her shirt last night? This girl is really considerate and sweet.
He stared at the shirt on the balcony before hastily putting on a thick coat and rushing out the room.
The next day, Olivia, as usual, arrived early at the office.
She had returned to the dormitory at 3:00 am, but felt no sleepiness at all.
Lying in bed with her eyes wide open, all she could think about was what had just happened.
She lay with her eyes wide open, but could not fall asleep.
Since there wasn't much time left to sleep anyway, she got up and practise her spoken Chinese.
Since starting work, Olivia had always been the first person to arrive at the office every day. After cleaning the office and watering the plants, the other colleagues gradually arrived.
Occasional chatter in the office didn't bother Olivia. She simply focused on her work.
For Olivia, who had majored in Chinese, work processing the data was a headache. Once she was hired by this company, she had to do what she was assigned to do.
Fortunately, after nearly half a year of practise, she had become proficient in her job skills.
Today, as she stared at the data on the computer, Henry would always come to mind. She wondered if he had recovered from his high fever.
She wanted to ask, but she knew she could not do that. They were just work relationships, not even friends.
However, around 11:00 am, her phone suddenly rang. It was her boss calling!
Oh no! Could it be that Mr. Davis told her boss that she had gone there last night and done nothing?
There was clearly no need for her help at his house… If Mr Williams blamed her, she would tell the truth.
But Mr. Davis was such a high-ranking official, he shouldn't bother with someone like her!
The phone kept ringing, but Olivia's mind was preoccupied with thoughts, and she didn't answer it at all.
"Olivia?" her colleague from the opposite side saw Olivia in a daze and gently reminded her.
"Yes?" Olivia suddenly stared at her, and her colleague pointed to Olivia's landline before leaving the office.
So Olivia quickly answered the phone, and the voice of Mr Williams came from the other end, "Olivia, come to my office."
It seemed to be about last night! Olivia stood up, straightened her clothes, and went to Mr Williams' office.
Olivia felt that Henry wouldn't tell Mr Williams about the trivial matters. He was an important person and must always be busy, so she wasn't particularly anxious.
She raised her hand to knock on the door of Mr Williams's office.
Mr Williams saw her coming and changed his usual distant demeanor, smiling as he got up from his chair, greeting, "Olivia, please have a seat."
Olivia politely greeted him and sat on the seat he pointed to.
However, Mr Williams just smiled at her without saying anything.
"Mr Williams, anything I can do for you?" she asked.
"Olivia, did you do as I instructed last night?" Mr Williams asked with a smile.
Olivia nodded.
"You are a smart girl. I did it for your own good. In the future, you should communicate more with Mr Davis…" Mr Williams said.
"Mr Davis?" Olivia confirmed in surprise.
"Yes, Mr. Davis will be mayor of our city." Mr Williams answered, but a hint of doubt arose in his mind. "Could it be that Henry didn't tell her anything last night?
Oh, why would Henry need to tell her that? It was just a one-night stand. How could Henry tell her that?"
Olivia suddenly understood why the leader was trying to please Henry. With Henry in charge of this city, more promotion and business opportunities would rely even more on Henry.
"Olivia, if you have any problems in work or life, don't worry, tell me, I will find a way to help you, okay?" Mr Williams now seemed like a caring father.
Olivia knew Mr Williams's words were just empty official jargon, and she couldn't offer him any benefits, so why would he be so kind to her? Although it was impossible for her to take Mr Williams's words seriously, she still nodded.
Mr Williams seemed relieved, and he relaxed his whole body.
However, just then, his phone rang. Olivia quickly got up to leave, and Mr Williams nodded for permission.
Mr Williams answered the phone, and Henry's voice came through.
"Hello, Mr Williams, this is Henry."
"Mr. Davis!" Mr Williams looked towards the door and found it had just closed, feeling a bit annoyed. Why didn't he keep Olivia there?
"It's me, I have something to trouble you with." Henry said.
"Just give me your instructions." Mr Williams was secretly pleased when he heard Henry's words. It seemed that giving Olivia to Henry was the right move!
Henry continued, "May I have Olivia's phone number?"
Mr Williams's face lit up with joy, so, he quickly provided Henry with Olivia's phone number. "Yes, of course, it is...."
Henry quickly wrote down the number with a pen, expressed his gratitude to Mr Williams for help, and then hung up the phone.
On the other end, Mr Williams was so happy that even his hairs seemed to be dancing on his head with excitement.
Before Olivia could return to her seat, she received a call from Henry.
Henry called her using his own phone, displaying a completely unfamiliar string of numbers.
"Hello," she politely answered.
"Hello, this is Henry!" His voice sounded somewhat different from the night before.
"Oh, Mr. Davis, how are you? Is there something I can do for you?" Olivia answered hurriedly and nervously,
Henry chuckled and said, "You did me a favor last night, so I'd like to invite you to dinner. Are you free tonight?"
Was he treating her to dinner? Just the thought of facing him in person made Olivia flustered.
Eating with someone like him, no matter how delicious the food, would lose its flavor.
She'd rather just eat a piece of the cheapest sandwich instead!
"Thanks, but please don't bother…" she refused.
"At 6:15 PM, let me send you the address. Please go there yourself." Ignoring her refusal, he stated it as a command.
His commanding tone carried an unfamiliar gentleness, leaving her at a loss for further refusal.
"Well, that's it for now, I need to work now! See you tonight." After saying goodbye, he hung up the phone.
In Olivia's small heart, Henry suddenly seemed much taller.
Running errands for the big shot was one part of her job, but no one had ever done it like him. Even if it was just a meal, Olivia already felt a sense of respect.
Mr. Davis was truly a good person! Olivia thought to herself.
Throughout the day, Olivia's mood soared because of the dinner with Henry in the evening.
She always had a sweet smile on her face, and her popularity in the office was excellent.
Today, she couldn't contain her joy, making her colleagues wonder if she had hit the million-dollar jackpot.
As soon as it was time to get off work, Olivia hurried to the address sent by Henry, as this was the first time she had been invited to dinner by a high-ranking official, and she couldn't afford to be late.
After finally managing to hail a cab, she encountered heavy traffic on the way.
As though he set out early. By the time she reached the restaurant, it was almost 6:10 pm.
Olivia hurried into the elevator and arrived at the restaurant on the sixteenth floor, unsure if Henry had made a reservation. As she stood at the restaurant's entrance, her phone rang.
