(Baelon's POV)
"How is it fair that everyone else gets to ride on their dragon but us?" I said as I leaned back, "This is dumb."
We were in the Wheelhouse and approaching Harrenhal. I could feel the terrain of the Riverlands below us, bouncing up and down on the wet dirt road that we were traversing through.
"Because your Father said so." Mother said, "And.....you know the history between Balerion and Harrenhal."
"Yea, what does that have to do with me?" I frowned
"We never know how he could react," Helaena said as she held my hand
"He will not do anything," I said as I looked out the small window, seeing the forest and trees on the side of the road, "Harrenhal has to be in the middle of this place. Why Harrenhal?"
"Ask your Father." Mother told me
"This is starting to piss me off." I scowled, "I don't feel comfortable without my dragon."
"Please, calm down Brother." Helaena told me, "There is no need to worry about things. We will spend a few days here and we'll return Home."
"Lord Strong wishes to host a Tourney." Mother said, "But all of that should have been planned ahead of this Tour."
"You got that right." I said
"Relax, Baelon." Mother said, "Balerion is fine without you. And you should be fine without him."
"Yea...." I said, "I guess."
For the next half-hour, we sat in mere silence, expecting to arrive at Harrenhal's gate. And after we did, I could hear the loud sounds of soldiers marching around. All of our escorts making sure that the other Wheelhouses had gotten here safely.
Mother and Helaena got out first, helped down by Ser Harol and I then followed after. As I exited the wheelhouse, I looked up to see the sun shining through some clouds. It looked to be a decent day, hopefully, rain does not ruin it.
"Hm...." I said as I looked at the massive castle in front of me
Harrenhal, the Gem of The Riverlands. It is so large and vast that Father wanted this to be one of the few places where we would Tour. I still do not understand why he wanted me to go along with this but according to him, various lords will attend this meeting. So many people will be gathered in a single place for a few days. He had told me that he wanted to say something, addressing all of the Lords of the Realm, or at least those that attend.
I do wonder what he will announce, The King.
"A castle marked by Balerion's flames...." Helaena said softly, "It still stands, however....."
"A weak version of its past self." I told her
"It makes you wonder...." Helaena said, "If The Conqueror meant to destroy it or hold back."
Before I could answer that, I heard Caraxes' distant calls. I saw that he was in the hills next to the large castle. The sight of a large gathering of men must have grabbed the Blood Wyrm's attention. To the far side of him, on another grassy hill, I saw Silverwing laying down asleep and another familiar smoke-colored dragon.
"Huh." I said, "That's Seasmoke....Ser Laenor's dragon."
"Brother!" I heard someone call for me
I turned to see Daeron running up to me, Aemond behind him.
"Oh, hey." I said as he reached me, a bright smile on his face, "What's the matter?"
"Ser Laenor is here! I just saw him with our Uncle!" He said
Aemond reached us, "Yea, it's not fair that we cannot bring our dragons yet House Velaryon has theirs." He said, "I just saw Meleys on the other side of the Castle."
I looked at him, "How are you feeling?"
"I'm alright." He said as he adjusted his eyepatch, "But I still wanted to bring Vhagar."
"We spoke about this." Mother said firmly, "Neither you nor Aegon are allowed to fly until I say so. And the big dragons are the last thing we need here."
"Bummer." Aemond said
I patted his shoulder, "Well, that's too bad."
"I could have brought mine, mother." Daeron said, "I did not do anything."
"None of you." Mother said firmly
Daeron hung his head, "Tessarion gets lonely, though."
"When we return, you are allowed to fly her." Mother told him, "But for now, you will have to endure. Where is your Brother? Lord Strong will greet us."
"I saw him go off with the Blackwoods." Aemond said
"Are you serious?" Mother scowled, "That little..."
I sighed, "Come, Mother. Let him be. Let's get this over with."
As I took a step, I heard a dragon's roar from above. This caused everyone to stop what they're doing and look up in alarm.
I looked up and saw a golden dragon soar through the sky; It was Syrax.
"Hm...." I said seriously
"It's sister!" Daeron said, "Rhaenyra!"
I watched as Syrax flew over Harren's Castle, letting out another roar. I heard as Caraxes let out a returning roar.
"I told you she would come." Mother told me
I nodded, "You did."
"Why that look on your face?" she asked me
"If Laenor is here...." I said seriously, "And so is Rhaenyra..."
"Then so should her Husband....."
***********
"Your Grace." Rhaenyra said as she approached us
We were outside the Castle, in the middle of the large camp that was set up, similar to that of a Royal Hunt. My Sister had flown Syrax towards where Caraxes and the others were resting and slowly made her way towards where we were gathered.
Apparently, her children and husband had made the trip on a wheelhouse and she had stopped by King's Landing for a few things.
She wore a black dress, wearing the Targaryen colors, while her hair was in a single braid. She wore a nice-looking diamond necklace that I did not recognize. It must be some sort of gift her husband brought home from his trip at sea.
"Rhaenyra." Mother said, "It is good to see you. Where are the children?"
Rhaenyra looked around, "They should be somewhere in this camp. I need to meet with them, having not seen them for a few days really worried me." She said with a chuckle, "And....."
She looked at Aemond who was looking to the side, the way her face shifted to one of surprise was something I did not expect.
"Brother, are you alright?" She asked, "I am sorry I did not go to see you when you were wounded."
"I am fine, Sister." Aemond said, "Thank you for asking."
"He's strong." Mother patted his head
Rhaenyra then looked at Daeron, "Oh....look at you." She walked up to him and patted his cheek, "So small and precious. I have missed you, Daeron."
"I have missed you too, sister!" Daeron smiled
"And my sister." Rhaenyra walked up to Helaena and hugged her, giving her a kiss on the cheek, "So grown....soon, you will be married, my Sweet Helaena....I wish the best for you...and it seems you've gotten it..."
"Thank you, Rhaenyra..." Helaena said softly
Rhaenyra then looked at me, "And brother...." She said, "It is good to see you."
I nodded, "Yes." I said, "It is good to see you too."
As I said that, I saw as two little white-haired boys burst through the crowd and began to run towards us.
"Mother!" Little Viserys called out, "You're here!"
"Oh, my love!" Rhaenyra said as he reached her and hugged her leg
Maelor followed, "Mother!"
A slight smile appeared on my face as I saw Rhaenyra greeting her boys. Mother walked up to them to greet them as well, giving them hugs and kisses as Little Aemma approached as well. It was a nice sight, seeing Rhaenyra's Family interact with us like this.
Then, that smile disappeared when I saw him; Trevor Celtigar.
He slowly made his way towards us from the crow, wearing a dark grey coat that was buttoned up and had his House's sigil on the left part of the chest.
He then stopped, looking right at me. His dark and beady eyes were as disturbing as always and the way his white hair was nearly gray always unsettled me. He was a bit tall and lean. He looked skinny, but underneath his noble attire, he had a bit of meat on those bones. One look at him and some might think of underestimating him considering he's from House Celtigar, a lower-class Valyrian House.
But I never once looked at him like that. I always paid attention to him. Even from a young age. As much as he bored me, I never underestimated me.
"Your Grace." He bowed slightly as Mother looked at him
"Oh, Lord Trevor." Mother said, "You have returned from your voyage."
He nodded, "Yes, at long last. I do not plan on leaving any time soon, haha." He said with a slight smile, "I have to spend time with my beloved children after all."
Rhaenyra straightened up and placed her hands in front of her, "Yes....erm...." she said, "Trevor, have you spoken with Lord Strong?"
"Yes, he's awaiting the Royal Family. His Grace is with him as well as the Lord-Hand." He said before looking at me, "Prince Baelon, it has been a long-"
I was already walking past him, "Let's talk, Trevor." I cut him off, "Alone."
"Now."
