I sit in my hut the builders have offered to build me a house but i actually like the hut they did end up making it bigger and generally more stable and insulated it more with a fitting door to keep out rain and snow and bugs, my table is filled with books that I've bought or traded for I do get some money from doing everyone's laundry so I use it wisely I spend hours reading trying to find a spell to lift a curse or anything that could help Benjamin to my dismay I hadn't found anything and still have come up empty handed. It's evening and I put my books down and head to get the laundry off the lines I grab the few woven baskets we have and start walking through the village, barg comes over and crook is following him as he tosses the stick again he prints nearly running down some chickens.
Barg:"that dog has a one track mind and it's all just get the stick!" He makes a derpy looking face to mock crook I laugh slightly at his face as I blush and look down continuing to tell myself to not give in so fast after what happened crook comes back with a giant branch he walks sideways dragging the other end of it we both stop and look at him as he tries to lift it he's still got such a cute derpy face we both start laughing at him
Whitney:"crook that is not the stick he threw for you aha, come on drop it crook play time is over you need to rest a little go get some water or something" crook cocks his head to the side and drops the branch he follows us to the river and clothes lines as he gets water from the river. I start taking down the clothes one by one checking if they are dry, barg watches me as I hear multiple foot steps coming from just up another path I know who it is by the voices I can hear talking and joking around, it's the hunting group as if on cue Zul comes around a tree and sees us I pay no mind as I take the clothes down Barg waves at him to come over but he shakes his head and goes into the town.
Barg:"that's odd I'm surprised he didn't jump at the chance to talk to you again.."
Whitney:"maybe he has moved on to some other woman lord knows they are usually all over him"
Barg:"I could swear there is a slight tinge of jealous in your voice" he pokes at my side as I playfully slap his arm away and finish getting all the clothing off the line
Whitney:"now why would I be jealous of a girl that Zul is around if really wanted to I could have any of the single men around well at least the none human ones" I chuckle to myself it still stings to know no human man would be caught dead with me but it gives me an excuse to joke about it as well.
Barg:"hey, that's actually not a bad idea make him jealous not with me of course but someone let him see you two being all cute and shit together maybe that will make him notice you again"
Whitney:"barg if he doesn't want me I'm not going to force him to pay me attention or try to make him jealous, and like I said I don't want a relationship right now we have just become friends again as well I'd rather not rock the boat if I don't have to"
Barg:"who said anything about a relationship" he gives me a smirk that makes me want to jump into his bed but I snap out of it and pick up the full basket
Whitney:"come on it's going to be late soon and I've got laundry to fold" we walk back to the town and head into the tavern I sit and start to fold laundry as usual this is the best place to do it so people can come get their stuff at the end of the day Charlie winks at me as I'm folding clothes
Charlie:"hello there pretty lady would you like a beer while you fold laundry?"
Whitney:"oh offering to buy me a beer already how shameless I just sat down" we laugh as he brings a beer over and sets it down for me
Charlie:"I'm happy being shameless nothing to hide if I can't be shamed" I nod
Whitney:"you are not wrong about that"
Once I finish folding the laundry people come in and out taking their clothes and heading out or grabbing a beer as me and Charlie chat away not paying much attention to anything except our conversation
Charlie:"I'm glad you and barg are back to being friends it was getting pretty lonely not having the whole gang together I'm sure Zul will come around eventually but if he doesn't I'm more then willing to take his place" he winks at me and grabs my chin gently I've had a couple drinks at this point and I'm feeling rather brave and relaxed not a care in the world.
Whitney:"oh is that so well I'm more then happy to give you the spot I don't think Zul is going to be coming around anytime soon"
Charlie:"oh and why do you say that, he wouldn't give up on someone so sexy with such a thick, curvy body and those beautiful eyes" I tilt my head and look back towards the door now I see why he's flirting with me so shamelessly, Zul, barg and the rest of the hunting party are standing inside the door looking at me and Charlie In shock Barg looks ready to kill Charlie and I can't tell what Zul is thinking he has no emotion in his face at all.
Charlie:"oh sorry fellas didn't see you there, please come In take a seat I'll get the beers ready in a snap oh barg could I borrow you for a second I need some help with some of the beer barrels out back"
Barg:"yeah I guess.." Barg still looks furious at Charlie I sit drinking my beer as Zul and the others sit at a table a bit further away from the bar. My cheeks are rosey from the booze as I sit happily tracing some of the marks on the bar top since it's wood it's not hard to see all the cuts and lines in it from use.
Charlie's pov
Barg follows me outside as I shut the door behind him he glares at me I smile and hold up my hands
Charlie:"I know what you are thinking but I wasn't being serious I seen Zul and you come in I know he still wants her but he's being stubborn I know he thinks I want her and that he will eventually get jealous and finally talk to her, not saying I don't like her I do she's very sweet and funny but I don't think me and her could be a couple id definitely fuck her if she wanted but nothing else we are better as friends"
Barg looks stunned but laughs surprisingly he seems ok with all of what I said
Barg:"Charlie even if you did want her which I can see you do like to flirt with her and probably would have sex with her I can't be mad at you for it we can't help who we like I was jealous but seeing what you where doing or trying to do I get it plus I'm actually starting to be okay with her having other men in her life as long as it's only one or two, you told me about that idea of one girl and multiple men being in a relationship with her I think I could do that honestly"
Charlie:"whoa have you told her that!? She does say she doesn't want to pick between the two of you"
Barg:"no not yet she wants to be friends for a while after everything that happened which i understand so we are just friends for now" we both nod in understanding and grab some barrels "oh and if she does want to uh sleep with you, I will not be upset about it she could probably use the distraction and I know she won't let me yet"
I nod and we head back inside Whitney is still sitting at the bar her long brown hair those brown eyes she drinks her beer I can tell she's pretty tipsy but not fully drunk she's aware of what she's doing but relaxed we set it all down and barg goes back to Zul and the others as I pour the beers and hand them to the group I go back over to Whitney and sit on the stool behind the counter me and Whitney keep talking and subsequently flirting eventually I move over to be sitting beside Whitney it's later in the evening and I know no one else will be coming in tonight the hunting party is still here but have plenty of beer to keep them content.
