Complicated relationships can usually be simplified.
So, to sum it up:
There were people from three different time periods here.
- Kushina was from before the Third Great Ninja War.
- Naruto and Sasuke were from sometime after the Third War but before the Fourth.
- The adult Sasuke, Sarada, and Boruto were from after the Fourth War ended.
Simple, right?
Naruto was Kushina's son. Boruto was Naruto's son, which made Boruto Kushina's grandson. Sarada was the adult Sasuke's daughter, which meant she was also the younger Sasuke's daughter, making Sasuke her father.
And since Kushina had unofficially taken Sasuke in as her godson, that technically made Sarada her granddaughter too.
So, at not even eighteen years old, Kushina had not only become a mother but also a grandmother.
Also, Boruto was her grandson, Sarada was her granddaughter, which meant… technically, Boruto and Sarada were siblings. Or maybe brother and sister.
"That's why I'm absolutely not agreeing to your marriage," Kurama said, sitting on the sand with his arms crossed, nodding firmly.
Sarada and Boruto: ???
Meanwhile, Kushina was happily hugging both Boruto and Sarada, one in each arm, looking like a grandma enjoying a peaceful family gathering. She was grinning from ear to ear.
Then, Kurama suddenly stood up dramatically. "You two are long-lost siblings!"
Sasuke: "..."
Naruto: "..."
Their brains just completely shut down.
Adult Sasuke rubbed his forehead helplessly. "Kurama, even if I don't approve of them being together, can you at least come up with a more reasonable excuse?"
"Excuse? I *am* the excuse!" Kurama lifted his chin proudly. "They won't be happy together!"
Sasuke let out a long sigh. "When exactly did the conversation take a turn like this?"
Probably when Kurama forcefully jumped out of Naruto's body, stood a few hundred meters tall in front of everyone, then casually pushed Boruto aside with a finger like an overexcited dog before turning to Sarada with a warm, doting smile.
Huh? Boruto? Try having a son and wait until he turns twelve.
No matter how he turns out, he's guaranteed to be great for waking you up in the morning.
Besides… isn't Sarada adorable?
But something still felt off. Kurama lowered his massive head, studying Sarada carefully. He couldn't shake the feeling that something wasn't quite right.
Sarada, who was being held in Kushina's arms, felt a little shy. Noticing Kurama's expression, she lifted her head slightly. "What's wrong, Uncle Kurama?"
"There's something strange about you," Kurama muttered, tilting his head in confusion.
Adult Sasuke's face darkened. He knew how powerful Kurama was in the future. With full access to the power of the Six Paths, Kurama's sensory abilities were even sharper than the Rinnegan's. If Kurama noticed something unusual, then there was definitely something off about Sarada.
Besides, Boruto, Sarada, and Mitsuki had fought alongside them against Otsutsuki Momoshiki and Kinshiki. Boruto had Momoshiki's Karma, but Sarada and Mitsuki didn't have anything. That alone had already caught Sasuke's attention.
Adult Sasuke immediately became alert. "Did you sense something?"
Could Sarada have a Karma seal like Boruto?
Kurama stroked his chin, deep in thought. Then, in the next second, he suddenly slapped his thigh. "I got it! Sarada doesn't have glasses!"
Adult Sasuke: "…"
I'm sorry for ever expecting anything from you, Kurama. Never again.
Sarada giggled sweetly and answered softly, "Dad never went to Orochimaru, so he never met Aunt Karin. Since Aunt Karin never liked Dad, she never gave me glasses."
Kurama twitched his lips. "A peanut without glasses has no soul."
Sarada shrugged helplessly. "But you wouldn't want me to be nearsighted, right, Uncle Kurama?"
"You Uchiha get nearsighted?" Kurama scoffed. "With Sharingan? Don't joke with me."
"That's as ridiculous as saying the Hyuga clan gets farsighted."
Sarada froze for a second, blinking in confusion. For some reason, this version of Uncle Kurama seemed even crazier than the one she knew.
She turned her head to look at Boruto.
Boruto nodded in full agreement.
Sarada understood immediately.
Adult Sasuke sighed, ignoring these three troublemakers. Instead, he turned to look at his younger self and Naruto. "You two still haven't snapped out of it?"
Sasuke kept a serious expression, pretending to stay calm, but his eyes kept glancing toward Sarada. "I'm fine. It's Naruto who's still in shock."
Naruto… didn't even try to deny it. Because, yeah, he *was* in shock.
Adult Sasuke chuckled at the scene. "If you want to go over, just go. Sarada isn't going to eat you—she's your daughter."
"My *future* daughter," Sasuke said stiffly.
Adult Sasuke grinned even wider. "I know what you're thinking. You feel like things are moving too fast, right? You don't have those kinds of feelings for Sakura yet, so now you're a little scared of the future?"
Sasuke fell silent.
It was true. He could feel that Sakura was different. But at this point in time, he hadn't developed feelings for her yet. Now, all of a sudden, there was a girl claiming to be their daughter, and for some reason, that filled him with a sense of panic—an overwhelming fear of the future.
The older Sasuke sat down beside him. Being nearly two heads taller, he looked even more composed and mature. With a slight smile, he said, "You don't need to worry. After all this is over, you'll forget everything that happened here. Aunt Kushina will use a sealing technique to erase the memories of everyone present—including… our father."
Of course, those who had traveled from the future wouldn't have their memories sealed. When the time came, they could just use the 'Plow' and leave.
Sasuke was stunned. The fear inside him faded a little. "So that's why I've never heard anyone mention any of this before… It all makes sense now."
He then turned to look at his older self, a little puzzled. "Then why do you remember?"
"I don't, not really. The only things I can recall are some blurry images." The older Sasuke shook his head before glancing at Kushina, who was grinning from ear to ear. "Aunt Kushina's sealing technique is too powerful—far beyond what you guys can imagine. Even the future Naruto wouldn't be able to break it."
Technically, Six Paths power could forcefully undo a normal seal, if it was just Kushina's technique alone. But the problem was, the older Sasuke could sense traces of complete Six Paths power within the seal. Even at his current level, breaking through a sealing jutsu reinforced by full Six Paths energy was nearly impossible.
Maybe in the future, the only ones left in the entire ninja world who would still remember this event would be Aunt Kushina and Kurama.
"No wonder Aunt Kushina said those things when she appeared during the Six Paths era," Sasuke suddenly understood.
His mood gradually settled, and the stiffness on his face eased.
He glanced at Sarada, then turned to his older self. "So, you guys came to this time period to hunt down Otsutsuki Urashiki?"
