Chapter 50 - Chapter 50: Something's Wrong...

Something's wrong, very wrong.

Naruto isn't a masochist, he doesn't enjoy being hit, but something's off. Sakura's current caring attitude is almost like she's got "I'm so worried about you," "Get well soon," and "Our team can't do without you" written all over her face.

Sasuke, who usually mocks him, suddenly shut up and even peeled an apple for him, though it was just a core. This scene felt so wrong.

But to be honest, it feels pretty good, hehe.

Sakura rolled her eyes and fed a small piece of apple to Naruto, watching him eat it with a silly grin and then show off to Sasuke. To be honest, she was almost at her limit.

At first, she was really worried because of Naruto's injury, but now that worry was almost gone. If it weren't for Jiraiya-sama and Kakashi-sensei outside, Sakura might have already punched him.

Endure! I must endure! Sakura took a deep breath to calm her anger. Naruto can't be a ninja anymore for the village's sake. I can't hit him just because he's annoying. I'm a considerate girl, I won't use violence.

Successfully convincing herself, Sakura put on a gentle smile, "Naruto, do you want more? I'll peel another one for you, okay?"

"Um..." Naruto pointed at Sasuke with an annoying look, "I want Sasuke to peel it for me."

Even though Sasuke's peeled apple was just a core, it felt great. He wasn't doing it to eat the apple.

"Crack!" The poor knife in Sakura's hand turned into scrap metal.

Naruto and Sasuke both froze, swallowing nervously as they looked at Sakura's 'smiling' face. "Naruto, Sasuke is also injured. I'll peel the apple for you, okay~"

Even though her tone was sweet, Naruto felt like a knife was at his throat. A drop of cold sweat ran down his forehead. "I think that's fine."

"Yeah." Sasuke nodded in agreement.

"That's better." Sakura picked up the apple and started peeling it. Even though the knife was ruined, she had other knives.

Yes, the kunai from her ninja tools pouch.

Naruto felt each cut like it was slicing into his own flesh. The cold sensation made him swallow nervously. He turned to look at Sasuke, who seemed completely unfazed. Naruto couldn't help but want to give him a thumbs up.

At that moment, the door to the hospital room opened, and Jiraiya and Kakashi walked in.

Jiraiya had his usual smile, looking at Naruto in an unreliable way. "Yo, Naruto, you seem to be doing okay."

"Pervy Sage!" Naruto's eyes lit up as he saw Jiraiya enter the room. He couldn't wait to speak. "Are you going to find Granny Tsunade? I want to go too! Take me with you!"

Naruto knew this because Kurama told him.

But Jiraiya didn't know that. He seemed a bit surprised. "Naruto, how do you know I'm going to find Tsunade? Wait, did you call her Granny?"

Jiraiya was shocked. Was Naruto looking for trouble? Anyone who dared to call Tsunade Granny was either buried or still bedridden. Was this guy that brave?

Just kidding, Naruto was super brave.

"I want to go with you!" Naruto didn't care about that. He just wanted to find Granny Tsunade quickly and get healed so he could continue training to become Hokage!

"No way!" Jiraiya refused without hesitation. "You know your own body. I did plan to take you with me, but now your injuries can't handle running around. If your injuries get worse, even Tsunade can't heal you."

Tsunade was a medical ninja, not a miracle worker. Her medical ninjutsu was strong, but not all injuries could be healed. Naruto's condition was worse than Lee's. The doctors said even Tsunade's chances of healing him were slim.

Of course, they didn't know about Naruto's Uzumaki constitution. They were just judging based on the situation at the time. If they checked Naruto's body again now, they would find his injuries had started to heal, much better than when he was brought in three days ago.

Kakashi stepped forward.

"Naruto, you need to stay in the hospital and cooperate with the doctors. At least until Tsunade-sama returns, make sure your injuries don't get worse."

"I won't!" Naruto shouted as he threw off the blanket. "I'm going to find Granny Tsunade! I'm fine! I want to leave the hospital now!"

"Sigh." Jiraiya sighed deeply, looking at Naruto's stubbornness, and said with a guilty tone, "Naruto, don't you want to be a ninja anymore?"

Naruto's actions stopped instantly, and he looked at Jiraiya in a daze.

"Your injuries... are too severe. So severe that the medical ninjas in all of Konohagakure can't heal you. Tsunade is your only chance. If your injuries get worse, even Tsunade might not be able to heal you. Do you understand?" Jiraiya's face showed sadness, and his tone was heavy.

As if talking about something sad, Kakashi, Sasuke, and Sakura all lowered their heads at the same time, their faces full of sadness. Sasuke even clenched his fists, feeling an indescribable sorrow.

Naruto: "..."

People's joys and sorrows are different. Seeing you all so sad, I just want to laugh.

Of course, Naruto couldn't laugh out loud, although he was having a hard time holding it in.

Others didn't know, but Naruto did. Kurama had told him many times about his body's condition. It was indeed serious, and the recovery time could be counted in years. That's why Kurama wanted him to find Tsunade, because only Tsunade could shorten the recovery time to months.

And now, his severe injuries were mainly due to Kurama's chakra erosion. Once Tsunade removed the effects of the chakra erosion, Kurama's chakra would speed up Naruto's recovery, and he might recover in less than a month.

He just couldn't use chakra for a short time. Once his body healed, he would still be a ninja. Tsunade could help him shorten this healing time to the minimum.

Naruto knew this, and he knew it better than anyone present. So... seeing them so sad now, he couldn't help but want to laugh. This was probably the 'joy' Kurama talked about.

Oh no! Kurama's influence!

Naruto quickly covered his mouth to stop himself from laughing out loud.
