Chapter 41 - Chapter 41: Dangerous thoughts

"Eat this."

Kisaragi threw a pill to Uchiha Ryu.

Looking at the pill Kisaragi threw over, Uchiha Ryu's eyes flashed with a hint of hesitation, but in the end, he chose to take it.

This pill must be poison, but he had no choice but to eat it; otherwise, he would die immediately.

"I don't care what method you use, I'll give you three days. If you don't kill Sarutobi Shinnosuke within three days, you and your family can go to the Pure Land and reunite together."

Kisaragi let Uchiha Ryu leave after giving him the poison. As long as Uchiha Ryu still valued his own life, he wouldn't dare run away. Even if he didn't care about his life, he would care about his family's safety.

"Patriarch, you ordered him to kill Sarutobi Shinnosuke. If Sarutobi Shinnosuke dies, the Third Hokage, Sarutobi Hiruzen, will definitely turn against Uchiha."

Uchiha Shin's face showed worry.

Killing Sarutobi Hiruzen's son—there was no way Sarutobi Hiruzen wouldn't go berserk.

"The one who will kill him is Uchiha Ryu. What does that have to do with our Uchiha clan? Do you really think I gave that traitor a chance to live?"

Kisaragi glanced at all the Uchiha members in the hall.

"I will never let go of anyone who betrays us, so I hope none of you ever have thoughts of betraying the Uchiha, or else..."

Kisaragi's eyes flashed with the three Tomoe Sharingan, and in an instant, they transformed into the Mangekyō Sharingan.

Kisaragi's Mangekyō Sharingan surprised everyone present, and their faces showed excitement.

The patriarch had also awakened the Mangekyō Sharingan. Now, the Uchiha clan had two people with the Mangekyō Sharingan, and their former glory seemed closer than ever.

Ever since Uchiha Madara left the clan, the Uchiha family began to decline. After the death of the First Hokage, the Second Hokage, Senju Tobirama, harshly suppressed the Uchiha.

After Senju Tobirama's death, his disciples, Sarutobi Hiruzen and Shimura Danzō, continued this suppression. The Uchiha, who had been oppressed by Konoha's leadership for so long, held deep resentment.

"After Uchiha Ryu kills Sarutobi Shinnosuke, we'll announce that Uchiha Ryu betrayed the Uchiha clan and was expelled."

Kisaragi wanted Sarutobi Hiruzen to suffer in silence, unable to retaliate directly.

If Sarutobi Shinnosuke was killed, Sarutobi Konohamaru might never be born. But did Kisaragi care about that? He didn't even care whether Uchiha Itachi, Uchiha Sasuke, or even Uzumaki Naruto, the ultimate protagonist of this world, would be born in the future.

"Our Uchiha clan seems to have a young genius named Uchiha Shisui?"

Kisaragi suddenly asked.

"Uchiha Shisui is indeed quite talented," Uchiha Shin replied with admiration. He, too, paid attention to this young genius, believing that Uchiha's rise was destined.

With the patriarch and the patriarch's wife both wielding the Mangekyō Sharingan, and a teenage genius like Shisui, the Uchiha clan's future seemed bright. Many Uchiha members believed that their patriarch might even compete for the Hokage title. If that happened, the Uchiha clan would undoubtedly become the number one clan in Konoha.

"Shin, it will be your responsibility to mentor Shisui. Remember, the first thing you must teach him is loyalty to the Uchiha clan."

To Kisaragi, loyalty to the Uchiha meant loyalty to him.

Uchiha Shisui was indeed a genius, and Kisaragi was curious to see if he could change Shisui's beliefs by intervening.

If Shisui's character and beliefs shifted, Kisaragi wouldn't mind cultivating him as his own lieutenant. However, if Shisui remained the same as in the original story, Kisaragi wouldn't kill him, but he would eventually take Shisui's Mangekyō Sharingan for himself.

"Lord Patriarch, I will guide him well," Uchiha Shin said seriously.

Kisaragi nodded lightly. Right now, Uchiha Shisui wasn't someone who could attract his attention, at least not until he awakened his Mangekyō Sharingan. For now, Kisaragi wouldn't pay him much mind. But since Shisui was only four years old and had just started practicing chakra, it would likely take a long time before he awakened the Mangekyō.

"Uchiha Fuji, Uchiha Kai."

Kisaragi's gaze fell on the two men.

Even though he had retracted his Mangekyō Sharingan, the pressure Kisaragi exerted on them without it was immense.

Since becoming the patriarch, Kisaragi had cultivated an aura of authority, and both Uchiha Fuji and Uchiha Kai subconsciously feared him.

"You two will join the Konoha Police from now on. Any objections?"

In the past, neither Uchiha Kai nor Uchiha Fuji—nor Uchiha Ryu, the traitor—had joined the Konoha Guard. Now, Kisaragi was ready to have them enlist.

"No objections," Uchiha Kai and Uchiha Fuji replied quickly. They didn't dare oppose Kisaragi, especially right after the revelation of a traitor.

"Report to the Konoha Police tomorrow," Kisaragi ordered, then dismissed them and returned to his home.

Mikoto had kept the house in excellent order, but having her—someone who was a quasi-Kage-level warrior—stay at home as a housewife felt like a waste of her abilities.

Still, Mikoto didn't seem to mind that kind of life.

"What are you thinking about?"

Mikoto asked when she noticed Kisaragi looking absent-minded after returning home.

"Of course, I'm thinking about how to do something evil."

Mikoto laughed, thinking it was a joke, unaware that Kisaragi's thoughts were completely serious.

Though he was continuously accumulating evil points, they still hadn't exceeded 300,000. The rate of acquisition was too slow, so Kisaragi was contemplating a larger scheme.

"I wonder how many evil points I would get if I destroyed Konoha Village?" Kisaragi mused to himself.

Such dangerous thoughts crossed his mind, but he quickly shook his head.

Even if he wanted to destroy Konoha Village, his current strength wasn't enough. After all, he only had Mangekyō Sharingan, and Ryūjin Jakka's Shikai couldn't be sustained for long.

Furthermore, Kisaragi had no intention of leaving Konoha anytime soon. It was better to slowly reap benefits. Destroying everything at once might bring short-term gains, but it wouldn't be as profitable in the long run.

"Maybe it's better to start the Third Ninja War."

Another dangerous thought surfaced in Kisaragi's mind.

In any case, the Third Ninja War would eventually break out. If he provoked and escalated it, he could gather a significant amount of evil points.
