Chapter 11 - XI

"Task Completed: You have completed physical training for the first time. You will receive an exclusive reward. Do you accept it?"

"|A | N|"

Alex froze for a moment, his face reflecting shock. "A reward? Now?" he muttered to himself, his heart racing with anticipation and his eyes widening with excitement. "Could it be a good reward? I hope it's not something trivial."

Taking a deep breath, and with a mix of enthusiasm and tension, he pressed the "Accept" button. He hoped for something to alleviate the strain of what he had been through and perhaps give him a significant boost. As he waited, the notification began to fade away, leaving him filled with suspense about what the tattoo would bring him.

As the reward notification disappeared, a new message appeared on the glowing blue tattoo, clearly written:

____________________

"A new ability has been unlocked:

Legacy Transfer:

- Ability:transfer or merge certain abilities from other individuals.

- Restrictions: Abilities are active for a limited time and are restricted to minor enhancements based on what was acquired from the opponent.

+ The opponent must be defeated."

______________

Alex took a deep breath, his eyes widening as emotions of shock and excitement battled within him. "Is this real?" he muttered in astonishment, trying to grasp what he had just seen. He hadn't expected the reward to be of such significance.

A great sense of enthusiasm washed over Alex as he imagined the possibilities this new ability could offer. "If I can merge other people's abilities, I might significantly enhance my own power!" he thought to himself, feeling a surge of hope.

However, there was a moment of concern as he recognized the limitations of the ability. "The abilities might be temporary, but maybe I can use this capability to improve my standing in the performance test," Alex reasoned, beginning to feel a sense of optimism.

After a shower, Alex felt rejuvenated, as if the water had washed away the exhaustion of the previous night and restored his vitality. He stood before the mirror, wiping the water droplets from his face, and smiled as he noticed how the fatigued look he previously had had vanished, replaced by a fresher, more vibrant appearance.

In the kitchen, he prepared a hearty breakfast, featuring foods he loved, from scrambled eggs to toast and hot coffee. The aroma filled the kitchen, heralding a new day full of vitality.

"I've got a great opportunity here," he said to himself, gazing at the food with satisfaction. "If things continue like this, I'll be able to make the most of every chance to train and enhance my abilities."

After having breakfast, Alex prepared for the training field as Simon had advised him. "Now, it's time to get to work," he said to himself, feeling increasing excitement with every step he took toward the field.

Upon arriving at the training ground, which was set up for novice dungeon hunters with equipment for simulating various types of encounters and challenges, Alex said with enthusiasm, "Let's start with the warm-up," as he examined the simulators and challenges provided.

As he began his exercises, facing the challenges specifically designed for hunters, he felt that each workout was improving his skills and boosting his confidence. "I needed this," he thought to himself, as he practiced new tactics and mastered different tools and techniques. "If I keep going like this, I'll be ready for any upcoming test."

While Alex was immersed in his training on the field, he began to sense something unusual around him. Everything seemed calm, but suddenly, mocking voices started to seep into his ears, like whispers from afar.

He listened carefully and discovered that the voices came from a group of students standing a short distance away, speaking clearly but assuming that Alex couldn't hear them. They were mocking him, exchanging jokes about his intense training and obvious exhaustion.

"Look at him, he seems to think all this will make him an excellent dungeon hunter," one of them said, while the others laughed.

Thanks to his enhanced hearing, Alex was able to catch every word. This made him feel a mix of anxiety and anger. However, he tried to ignore the comments and focus on the exercises in front of him. It was clear that the remarks were getting to him, but he decided to use these feelings as extra motivation to improve his performance.

As he continued his workouts, Alex tried to maintain his focus, recognizing that criticism from others could be a driving force rather than a source of frustration. "If they think I'll give up easily, they're wrong," he said to himself, increasing his effort and continuing to work harder.

But sadness began to seep into his heart. The mocking voices from the students echoed in his ears, reminding him of the challenges he faced and his fear of failure. He stopped exercising, sat on the ground, and closed his eyes to take deep breaths, trying to overcome his negative emotions. He whispered to himself, "Alex, ignore them. I need to prove to myself and to others that I can succeed." Taking a deep breath, he stood up again.

As Alex prepared to continue his training, he suddenly felt a slight shiver along his spine, warning him of imminent danger. Without looking back, and with remarkable reflexes, he jumped sideways to avoid a massive rock that came speeding toward him.

The rock crashed into the ground with a force, causing a cloud of dust and debris. Alex, who had successfully dodged the attack, took a deep breath and looked around with focus. It wasn't the first time he had used his advanced senses to avoid danger, but he felt relieved to have handled the situation successfully. As he brushed the dust off his clothes, Alex quickly turned around and shouted, "Who is responsible for this?"

He noticed Jude standing nearby, laughing warmly. "I was sure you'd dodge it!" Jude said with a smile. "I didn't think you'd react so quickly."

Alex frowned, asking, "Since when have we been close enough for you to joke with me?"

Jude apologized sincerely, "After the restaurant incident, I thought we became friends. Sorry if I bothered you."

Alex took a deep breath and said, "Friends? Well, make sure you're less surprising next time."

Jude responded in a relaxed tone, "I'll keep that in mind. But you have to admit, that was exciting, wasn't it?"

Alex gave a slight smirk and returned to his training. While Jude continued to watch him, he approached Alex and began a series of annoying questions. "When did you get here? Why? How?"

Alex answered coldly to each question, "I arrived this morning. I came to train. I don't know."

Jude didn't stop, asking, "What do you hope to achieve? How long do you plan to stay here?"

Alex answered briefly, "I want to improve my abilities. I'll stay here until I'm done."

With each answer, Jude's smile grew wider, and his laughter increased. Finally, he burst into laughter, saying, "Your coolness is amazing, Alex! You're always so calm!"

Despite his serious expression, Alex couldn't help but smile at Jude's strange laughter. Jude, surprised to see Alex smile, widened his eyes in astonishment, "Wait, am I dreaming? Alex is smiling! I didn't expect you could make that expression!"

Alex looked at him coolly and said, "Oh, seems like you've uncovered my secret."

Jude laughed, "Yes, I'm amazed! There's definitely something unusual here. Can you tell me when this drastic change happened?"

Alex started laughing, shaking his head, "Maybe because you've become too annoying."

Jude laughed along with Alex, saying, "I'm proud. I'll consider this an achievement!"

Alex laughed more, enjoying the conversation. This simple moment between them, full of seriousness and teasing, brought comfort and a smile to Alex. Jude asked curiously, "Would you like to join me for some training? I passed the second-year performance test with a good rank, so I might have some tips."

Alex, catching his breath, replied, "Actually, coming here is all about training for that test. I was looking for a chance to train hard."

Jude smiled encouragingly and said, "Alright, but be prepared. Don't expect training with me to be easy. I'm strict when it comes to training, especially if you're preparing for tests."

Alex said coolly, "I've seen enough training to know it won't be easy. But I'm ready."

Jude laughed and said, "Great, then let's get started. Let's see how well you handle the pressure."

Alex took a deep breath, knowing it wouldn't be easy, but he was ready to fight for his goal. After hours of intense training, Alex collapsed on the ground, exhausted and sweaty. Jude, watching Alex, burst into laughter, saying, "Haha, we're just getting started! How do you feel now?"

Alex, lying on the ground, replied in a hoarse voice, "I didn't expect the training to be this tough. I thought I was done for."

Jude, continuing to laugh, said, "Remember, this is just the first day. We haven't even begun!"

The two of them started laughing together, making the other students look at them in surprise. Alex laughed loudly, joining in the atmosphere, while Jude continued with his funny comments.

In the midst of this, the two exchanged jokes, bringing a sense of fun to the atmosphere around them. While Alex and Jude were still in the middle of their laughter, Simon approached them, looking surprised and astonished. "I didn't think you two were this close!" Simon said as he watched the scene.

Alex, breathing heavily and feeling exhausted, looked at Simon with a scowl and said, "Oh, Simon, hello. You're right, this training has been hellish. Jude here set me an unbelievably tough program. I didn't expect it to be this hard."

Jude, feeling a bit embarrassed, laughed bitterly and said, "Alex, it's not that bad. I was just trying to push you to challenge yourself. You've only done the basic part of the exercises."

Simon, raising his eyebrows in surprise, said, "Oh, I think I understand now."

Alex, looking at Jude with sarcasm, said, "Basic? Jude here was enjoying wearing me out to the maximum. I guess this is his favorite way to amuse himself."

Jude, continuing to justify himself with a shy smile, said, "Well, I was trying to be a bit serious. I don't want you to think I'm pressuring you without reason. The goal is to really improve your abilities."

Simon, smiling wryly, said, "Ah, I see. It seems Jude likes a challenge."

Alex, catching his breath slowly, said, "At least we're having some fun with the exhaustion. Thanks to Jude for making me push my limits."

Jude started laughing again, waving his hands, "No thanks needed. But don't forget to take a break before you get back to training!"

Jude looked at Simon cheerfully and said, "Don't you want to join us for training? There's always room for an extra team member."

Simon, feeling a bit panicked and anxious, pulled back slightly and said, "Oh, no, no, no. I think I'll stick to the theoretical and written tests. I don't think I can handle those hellish exercises like you two."

Jude laughed and said, "You know, I think you're right. It's better for you to focus on your studies rather than trying to break your bones."

Simon smiled as he turned to Alex and Jude, saying, "But since it's lunchtime, how about heading to the cafeteria? I'll join you there. I have to admit, I didn't expect you to get along this well so quickly."

Alex, still catching his breath, looked at Jude in shock and said, "What? We're friends now?"

Jude, laughing cheerfully, said, "I think we are. But don't worry, I won't bother you with training every day."

Alex, pretending to think seriously, said, "Alright, if you think we're friends, I might accept that. But I won't train with you again; that's the deal."

Simon laughed and said, "Well, let's go to the cafeteria. I think you both need to regain your energy after this session!"

Alex, finally smiling, said, "Deal. I'll meet you at the cafeteria, but don't expect me to be the best training partner for Jude."

With this friendly exchange, the three headed to the cafeteria, continuing their laughter and teasing. After a good lunch, Alex and Simon decided to head to their rooms to study, with the exams approaching soon.

When Alex reached his room, after a refreshing shower, he took a quick look at his notebook. He was exhausted from the training but organized his papers and began reviewing his lessons, determined to prepare well for the upcoming exams.

Simon made a similar decision. After saying goodbye, he returned to his room, settled at his desk, and started reviewing the theoretical lessons, glad to avoid physical training.

Quickly, each of them immersed themselves in preparation, determined to achieve the best results in the upcoming exams.

After two weeks of the grueling daily tasks imposed by Alex's tattoo and his continuous training with Jude, Alex and Simon finally met to study together during the break.

When Simon arrived at Alex's room, he was surprised by his new appearance. he was slightly taller, had gained noticeable muscle, and his physique looked more toned. His muscles had a slight bulge under his shirt, giving the impression of increased strength and fitness. His face looked brighter, and his hair was neatly groomed.

Simon, looking at Alex in astonishment, said, "I didn't realize you were this tall before. Have you always had this build?"

Alex, staring at his hands and inspecting his physique without noticing the significant change, replied, "Ah, I guess I've been so caught up in training that I didn't notice these changes. But it seems like the effort is starting to pay off finally."

Simon, laughing a little, said, "I think I also need to work on my fitness this time. But let's focus on studying now, shall we? Because We have an important class tomorrow morning!right?!"
