Freya's dad was one of the only 4 neurosurgeons we had in the country. So, you know the cash wasn't even something to worry about. Her mother died a few years ago, so it was just her, her dad and her 2 older sisters, Tina and Victoria. Tina was married, and Victoria was a medical PHD student, specializing in her dad's field; neurosurgery.
The dad too was busy so most of the time, Freya had the whole mansion to herself. What a sad, lonely life, right? With all doors of opportunity open for her, beauty that made men salivate, you'd think she had it all. But she didn't. When she was alone, she'd think of her mother and cry herself to sleep. Their bond was so strong that when she died, a part of Freya died with her.
During meals, mostly dinner, when she and her dad were together, they both would try to cheer each other up, but deep down sadness was eating them alive. Most of the rooms were empty. The house that used to be so loud and lively was now so quiet.
Her father treated her like a princess and gave her all the freedom she'd need. But still, Freya did wonder if her dad was ever proud of her. A parent would love her child to death, but pride wouldn't be in the picture. In one week she was to join university as a social work major, not because she liked it, but because she wasn't as smart as her sisters. Tina, the first born, was married, a mom, and worked as a chief attorney for the government's main electric supply company. And Victoria was as I said before, nearing her daddy's skills as a neurosurgeon. But the only skill Freya knew she was great at was the art of seduction.
But _
That wasn't her priority at the moment. They were to become freshmen in one week. What a better way to approach the day than going camping?
Lemanga Stone was a luxurious vacation spot located somewhere within the tropical rainforest of Lemanga. The place was a hidden gem that only rich people knew about. Out of kindness, they had opened a website for booking, but only 10 percent of our country's population could afford it. You might think nobody visited it then. You'd be surprised to find out that every year ever since it opened, reservations were out of the chart. If you need to go there for christmas 2024, you need to make a reservation in December 2023. That's how it was done.
Freya had managed to book the whole vacation home for 3 days just for her and her friends. Let's not talk about how much she paid because we don't want your poor hearts to stop.
She arrived first and as soon as she was settled in, she went to wait for her friends at the entrance. The girls had been fetched by the vacation's shuttle bus and were to arrive in less than 2 minutes. Freya was so excited. She had planned something very special for them all.
The shuttle arrived and the door slid open. The girls came out cheering and in utter awe of the place. It was heavenly.
"You've outdone yourself this time, Freya.", said Helzeny as she took off her shades.
"We deserve this much, don't you think?", Freya shrugged it off.
There was a bonfire being started from a distance and the number of seats set were more than eight.
"Are more people coming?" asked River, the first to notice the seats.
"Oh.", Freya clapped once. She remembered, "I forgot to tell you. I did invite a few of my other friends.",
"What other friends _",
Another shuttle bus was seen approaching them. Freya couldn't contain her excitement. She kept giggling and wiggling like a little girl, "You guys will be so happy.".
Now everybody held their breath. When the bus stopped and the door opened, all eyes were frozen. Nobody blinked. The first person to get off the bus was _ you know what? Let's go back a little bit.
Currently, there was a boy band which was causing the heat in more than 10 countries. The band was called The Hive. It had 4 members; the main vocalist was nicknamed Bumble Bee, a real sweetheart. The guitarist was nicknamed Spider. The drummer boy was nicknamed The beetle and lastly the pianist was Scorpion. A real talent, I'm telling you. Their shows were mostly sold out in no time, and they rarely performed privately.
So when the door opened and Bumble Bee stepped out, the girls' screams nearly pierced the sky. It got even crazier when Spider, Scorpion and The Beetle stepped out too. I mean, WHAT? That was extra, extra exclusive. They surrounded the men with hugs and handshakes on sweaty palms.
But there were 4 more men inside. The girls knew that nothing would beat The Hive's entrance, but they still waited. You should know how tasteless it immediately became when Christopher Vanguard and his 3 other friends hopped out of the car.
Freya quickly signaled the staff to come to the rescue.
"Please escort the men to their respective residences.", she ordered.
The staff led the way. The men followed them, clearing that tense, awkward air around them.
Of course, Cora was so disappointed. It was all over her face, "Why did you invite Christopher?", she asked Freya, not sparing a single second.
"Actually, you invited him.", Freya responded.
Confusing.
"What?", Cora was puzzled, "I never _",
"I told him that you'd be glad if he came.",
"Are you for real right now?", Cora coughed out the words, "I thought we walked past that. I think YOU wanted him to come.",
"Yes, I did.", Freya blurted out that forced confession, "He's cool, and I liked him to some degree. But then, I felt bad, okay? You guys need to talk it out. Who knows? Maybe you're soulmates afterall.",
"That's not upto _",
"It's a killer spot.", Ylle interrupted, "We'd be fools to waste this on an argument. What do you say we go in and fantasize about The Hive?",
"Girl, word.", Zydal grabbed her bag, "Where are our rooms?",
"For sure. Follow me.",
The girls excitedly followed the rich friend. But despite their efforts to ignore the elephant in the room, in this case, the tropical rainforest, there were still some worries that the night might not end without a huge fight.
