Chereads / Return of the Demonic Mage / Chapter 3 - Lost memories

Chapter 3 - Lost memories

"Where am I?" Upon returning, Zeref wondered

His new body was very ordinary, average beauty and completely untalented.

He didn't know what he was doing here and how he got here, until his past memories were pumped into his mind,

How he was the strongest magician and how everyone treated him and how his relationship with everyone was, this may seem wonderful, these memories are definitely not bad,

But Zeref's expressions turned when he remembered something

Those calm looks turned into angry looks that carried some sadness

"I'm back again..."

The place he was in was a small room with a medium-sized window, it was midnight,

"That damned seal made me spend a lot of time to say the last word of the spell..."

Before he could finish his words, an unnatural, piercing pain engulfed his head, he felt like his head was pierced by several knives!

Wanting to get over it, he got up but quickly fell to the ground due to the terrifying dizziness that struck him.

He had no experience in what to do in such situations, the pain was so intense that it was terrifying.

His thoughts were difficult to gather and scattered, he thought he had lost his mind.

"What is… happening…?!"

"My head…!"

After moments of twisting from the severity of the pain, he felt that it had eased a little, so he hurried to get up.

Suddenly, some memories of his current body's owner began to be pumped into his mind. He felt that his head would explode from the intensity of the large amount of information he received…

His vision was blurry before it was replaced by the light of the moon that was full that night.

When he first opened his eyes here he couldn't take a look at the place he was in, so when he turned around for the first time he found his unmade wooden bed in the middle of it there was a small notebook with pages that were yellowed from age, the title on its cover was written in large white letters

"Notes"

'Pfft, this generation...'

When his vision returned to its familiar place he saw a desk made of wood, the signs of age were clear on it as the wood was very cracked and lost its usual color.

To the left of that desk there was a lit white candle, it completely lit up the wooden desk, and to the right there were several large books with different covers.

He turned again trying to examine the entire room

His eyes fell on the miror, he saw his new body for the first time

His hair was very black and of medium length, his pale skin and black eyes made him look very ordinary.

He checked the place again but found nothing but the bed, the wooden desk and the miror he had seen before

'I see some signs of development'

A thousand years ago

Such rooms were not available to the common people, only the rich and those with power had rooms, miserable rooms that were much worse than this

But at that time it was a sign of power and wealth.

He wouldn't have seen anything if it weren't for that moonlight, so he headed towards that window and stuck his head out quietly,

His hair flew in the cold wind

"This reminds me of that day" he meant here the day he was sealed.

"I think most of the people I met a thousand years ago are dead now..." Memories came back to his days when he was a magician.

In addition to the old memories that came back to him, the memories of the owner of this body also came back to him

"Erix Elrod"

The previous Erix was a very introverted person, he never made any friends, and of course he didn't have a chance with girls,

His parents were farmers in a remote village in Wesland, he lived with them before he joined Westos Academy.

Westos Academy gave free registration opportunities to talented people, but for the untalented like Erix, they had to pay the high registration fees,

Since his parents were just farmers, it was difficult for them to provide him with that amount,

But Erix's father had some money that was barely enough for registration and rent.

"This body is too bad"

He had a weak mana reserve, the most important thing to become a strong mage, in short, whoever has a large mana reserve, has the ability to become the strongest, but only a few have a large mana reserve.

When he put his head back inside, he had remembered something

"The spell book!"

This book he remembered was the same book he took out and took that paper from which was the spell that made him move to this body,

He threw it into a blue circle with strange symbols, which in turn absorbed it

"I remember exactly where I moved it…" He smiled wickedly

That book contained the spells and information that the demonic mage had spent his entire life on, that book contained years of experience.

Obtaining it now would be the greatest thing he could get, but his current strength would not enable him to use all the spells written in it and would not enable him to obtain it either,

The book is currently located in the most dangerous place

"Demons Land"

The most difficult and dangerous land that only a few humans were able to enter, and among them was the demonic mage in his previous life.

That place was filled with demons, and the demons here are naturally stronger than humans by stages.

"It will be difficult for me to go there now, I will wait until I am ready."

He closed the window, before heading towards that wooden desk

"Let's see what these books contain"

He pulled out that chair that was also wooden

"Okay, let's start with this"

He pulled out a book with a red cover, it had a large title in black font

"The Magic guide"

Under the title and in the same color and smaller font was written

"This book contains methods of using magic, follow these methods if you want to become the strongest"

"Westos Academy" was written at the bottom

"Price: 20 copper pennies"

"Pennies?!"

"I think this is a new currency, they are dealing with it now"

In the past, they were dealing with currencies that did not have any name, they just called them "coin".

When he opened the first page of the book, he was greeted by other unimportant words so he decided to turn the other page

"The Magic guide, Chapter One: The Beginning of Magic"
