Chapter 11 - Chapter 10 "Ifan and Sam" The Signal.

We're going to die here! I'm gonna die here!?he'll bloody kill us! isn't he? He most probably will. he'll murder us, that's the end of us, why did it had to happen? I didn't thought my life would end like this, I'm gonna vomit, where did It all went wrong? Its all dark, I can't see. "Sam are you here?"

"Yes, hard to speak when your thoughts are so loud I can almost hear them" okay so Sam's here, that's good. Problem left is- our hands and feet are tied up to the chair we're on. We failed. Not entirely but- who'll believe us now right?

Hard to say we've been kidnapped-

"Hey can you hear that-" Foot steps stomping at us, please don't let it be the big cheese! Someone thundered across the room and pulls the bag over our heads, we both gasped for air. We're all sweaty, red, and squishy, too sluggish to even move, Oh man- Sam looks like a bird caught on fire that we had to extinguish him, day's been Rough on him.

But what about me! I'm dying, too!

"Who do you work for" the man seems to not be angry, or maybe he is, maybe he's not- maybe he is- maybe he's good at acting- or maybe- I don't know bro. Sam doesn't answer him, if he's not saying anything I shouldn't either right- right? I'm assuming Because Sam always have a backup plan, What if.. what if-

What if this time he doesn't? I'm probably overthinking? But what if he doesn't-

Sam's more of a practical type, he knows more stuff about human mindsets, how to win an argument and about world in general, because when he used to roam around the streets, I would be sitting at home reading a novel or learning how to cook with Ayat, Or in a nice garden sowing until my uncle discovers. I even know about sewing, but I know nothing about horrific situations like these. I need air, I'm dying! water- air- any of those elements, I need, I feel like I'm carving my nails in the floor- anxiety curling up in my stomach! I can puke at any moment- I'm drying, aren't I- I am- what If I die today then the pain of tomorrow will not occur, but if I die today I won't be able to know what pain tomorrow has for me- both situations are- thinkable- likeable? But I don't wanna die, all I wanna do is sob- because, This room's tight and dark and wait-

Is this what I think it is? The man punches Sam till his nose bleeds-

It is what I think it is- its a torture room we're in!

"Stop I'll tell you" I speak because I'm weak when it comes to Sam. "No! You don't have to Ifan, we don't know anything" Why is Sam defending Mr Faisal? he did us dirty, let's say If maybe.. maybe by some chance Sam's plan does work or did work, we'd still have to get beaten up, I can't do this anymore, all my life I've been a outsider dog on whom people throw sticks and rocks, yet again this?

"We don't know anything, we were just at a wrong place at a wrong time"

"You don't think we're that stupid do you kid?" The man tryna get something out of him, Sam's firm on his statement, I don't think I can stay firm on his words when he keeps on getting beaten up after every question, if only he had listened to me, we could've worked at a bookstore or as a waiter or something but he said to have the luxury we dreamt of- this was it.

I don't see it- maybe he does.

"I swear on my fucking God we don't know-"

"Sir?" Another man interpreted.

"Mr Erdogan's coming to question these kids himself, P.s Fasial's here." Did he just say Faisal is here?

Son of a gun.

"Los traeré a su oficina" Great- speak languages we can't understand.

"Looks like your papa is here" I'm sure he's not calling Faisal our papa because that's just disturbing to even portray. Both of those men walked us through their big ass mansion, They took us straight to Erdogan's office where him and Fasial, already were talking about something, could it be..? our death's planning? We're prisoners, we'll die here, no one will take accountability of us, Faisal was using us! he played us, he's a monster! who betrays eighteen year olds, that's just some quality type cruel Bullshit.

"These kids doesn't work for me" As soon as we're thrown inside, this is what we got to hear, I already knew he'd say this.

"They were caught driving where my container truck, or should I say where my exploded truck was supposed to be Which on the contrary was to deliver some goods worth more than your life Faisal" Wow! girlie's burning in anger.

"As I said-"

"Do you think I'm that fucking big of an idiot? You out of everyone always had a fucking problem with me" Erdoğan's grauds pulled out their SRM 1208 shotgun, those are some classic, I happen to know alot more about weapons than Sam, he's too busy in action he doesn't actually study his projects. Those grauds aimed staight at Faisal in the same sync motion.

"You thinking I'd send some immature kids on a task like that is absurd, so why don't you cut some slack and have a conversation like adults?" I've never seen Faisal cuss. I sometimes think, is he immortal? Because there's no way he's always that calm.

"Then why are you here Faisal?" I mean yes why actually are you here Faisal?

"You killed my men Erdoğan, that wasn't in our contracts" He killed his own men to frame Erdoğan? Bloody monster! I'm assuming Because we didn't kill anyone, If anything we only knocked their men.

"I don't think what you're saying is true Faisal." Of course you don't.

"Then explain this" Faisal's man rotates a screen on a laptop that shows his men.. dead near Erdogan's owned container truck. They really are dead? What happend to them? we left them in good shape? He's quite for a second.

"Who are these kids" Erdoğan points his finger at us. okay so it's back to us again.

"Don't question within my question." Faisal didn't even looked at us, not even once, not even a single glare. it's almost as if he doesn't even know us, he's good at what he does.

"Let's say, even If they were caught there for nothing, what are the odds?" What are the odds? Erdoğan spinned the conversation back on us again. Funny he's the one to talk.

"That's not the answer to my question. Erdoğan."

"What were these two doing near my private property?"

"What were your men doing near my men's dead bodies?" Yes you ask him.

"I won't claim I did that" wait- what?

"So you did do that?"

"Under whatever circumstances, I know damn right they did what they had to do" Erdoğan straightens his posture, he's right on this one.

"Although what you said can be seen as valid, it still doesn't add up to what you were doing stealing rare goods that were supposed to be shipped to many of us too. Isn't that right?" That is partially true, The product was supposed to be delivered to all four of the hubs.

"I- yes. That may be correct" Well that took a turn.

"Then there we go, end of discussion" Faisal leans back, clasped his hands behind his head interlocking his fingers. He's conveying his power, that he's always going to stand above him.

"You're missing one thing Faisal, the goods aren't with us anymore."

"What?" Faisal for the first time I've ever noticed is flabbergasted, but he's good at pretending he's not. I'm assuming Because his nostrils flared a tiny bit and the sides of his siren eyes dropped down making his pupils go smaller. We couldn't hear the rest of the convo as we were yet again thrown down the basement. Faisal didn't claim we were doing what he told us to, we don't know what they ended their conversation with, Or what he'd do to us, maybe he did believe us when we said a thousand times we were only passing, or maybe he didn't. I wish he did. "Hey sam" I can't see him. "Yeah buddy" he moans in pain.

"Do you think they believed us?" He's not saying anything. "We didn't do anything wrong right? I jump to another question.

"Ifan even if-" The gate to basement wide opens, we both hop up to see who's there, don't fuck with me, it's Erdoğan himself.

"Let us go, we're poor village people" I don't know what they talked about before heading here. "Beat them till mid night and then let them go free" No- what the- why? The free part is good, why beat us?

"You won't even think to come back to us or even near us after this" The man stomps on me. "We weren't planning on coming back any time sooner" Sam tilts his head back against the wall. Erdoğan leaves and his right hand kicks us until we crumble down. Covering our heads isn't enough we need armour for this. You know the rest, they boots us down making our nose bleed, they punched, threw, and nudged us to the wall, Sam bites back his scream because he's too 'brave' while I'm howling in pain, almost whipping like a little kid. My kidney might fail tonight might I add. The graud jabs his elbow towards Sam's neck pushing him, Sam grits his teeth. He did fight back till he no longer could.

Child abuse at its peak.

We were set free at 2:00am.

My head is bleeding "I think they broke my arm" I groan in pain, Sam checks to take a look at my arm.

"Move it like this, try folding"

I do try.

"I don't think it's broken its just stuck" Sam coughs out blood. "Your rips are broken!" I yelp. "There might be something to clean up your face." I hand him over my bag. He struggles to zip it. "Let's just leave"

"Before revealing? I think we endured too much to leave now" Sam throws my bag on the ground. "And we don't need this anymore-" He does the classic pause.

"Cause we're buying new ones."

-Gambino residence

We're on the bridge that connects Mr Faisals hub slash Mansion, to the village, It turns into a road when it leads to the village, its above a river so fond, the bridge is old modeled, rusty but vintage, dark and powerful. It leads to Mr Faisal's mansion, where we've been before. There's a huge gate at the end of the bridge, Almost like Hotel Transylvania but make it illegal themed. They didn't opened the gate for us, Victor himself came outside to shut us down again.

"Call Mr Faisal, you're not that important" Sam iches his chin pretending to not give a shit about Victor. "You had your chance. you blew it, You lost the goods, well done" He mocks us with a fake apluse.

"Who said we did?" Sam mocks back raising his eyebrows in confusion.

"We're here to give what we were meant to"

Victor doesn't say anything but his pupils move in chaos. "Let's just let the goods speak for themselves" Sam moves aside whereas in contrast, the darkness of the bridge was illuminated by the soft glow of headlights cutting through the night, its a container truck that shows up, it breaks right infront of victor as he crosses his arms on one another. I walk behind the truck to swing open its door, and there it is, The lost bags filled with the rare goods. All the brilliant news! Victor takes a step closer not breaking eye contact with Sam.

"You better get prepared to give me your badge" Sam holds the eye contact.

"How even did you-?" Victor examains the bags in disbelief.

"Well let's just say I had my doubts." Sam smirks with sarcasm.

"SAM." The backup.

-Yesterday at our hometown chai dhaba.

-12pm

I'm at our local dhaba, it's where we all gather up to drink chai, I'm here for something else- not chai. Though I could really have some but that's not the time, for now I need to focus on my mansion to impress Faisal, he did explain us his plan but I've got some backup planning going on inside my head. Me and Ifan have discussed and have decided to make a secret signal thingy which he'll give me when or if he feels danger or anything out of context. He'll tick the break lights a couple of times and I'll understand its time for backup. We've lived in fear, We can never be too sure about a man, specially when a man himself calls him The Lord of dark. The whole town is under his control, he feeds us. That's actually funny but off topic. Besides I'm willing to do anything in order to win his heart. And as much as I hate to say this, I'm here for them, there's a bunch of boys my age, sitting, drinking chai and smoking cigarettes, ugh cigarettes- I smoke somtimes, but Ifan never let's me.

I step infront of one of them, he looks up at me. "Wow You're not here with your whining brother? Oh no-" He dramaticly gasps. "You left him alone? he might cry again." He's mocking Ifan, his friends starts to laugh at his joke, its like an automatic system set, he makes a joke, either its funny or not, they're set to laugh, And yes you guessed it right, he's the boy I scared off ten years ago when I saved Ifan from them. "You'll do something for me kerim." I didn't ask or order, I simply placed my statement.

"And why would I do anything for you? you're asking for my help?" He mocks again. "I never said I needed help, you'll do what I say." I say "You'll use your dead father's truck for me." I sit next to him.

"In what delusion world you're living in Sam? oh wait! I know it's some fairy pixi tale world right?" He laughs and his dogs. Plus What's wrong in living in a fairy tale? I freaking love fairies.

"You won't for me." I smack my lips. "But I know you will for a hundred big ones" I cross my arms. "You can't put that amount of money on risk" I tsk my tongue with sarcasm.

There we go-

They remain silent.

One word related to money and they all look like they've tasted lemon. He's quiet, looking at his friends then starts to inch the back of his neck.

Wait for it..

"When?" That's all he asks.

Bingo.

That's what I thought.

Money is the way to desperation. I'm doing the same thing for money aren't I. I'm as much of a desperate pig as them, The only difference is- they're the green ones.

. . . . . . . .

-The time of the accident

-2:30pm

"How long have I been out?"

"About 10 to 15 minutes max" no- no it can't be.

"What?" It can't be. We've lost too much time. "The truck's smoking up Ifan" I get closer to the truck.

"Thats what I was gonna say, It shouldn't be- it didn't hit anything, and the break wasn't that hard either" Ifan examines the truck, he sits next to the left tire. "Tire seems fine, the accident wasn't that bad"

"Why did you signal me?" I ask. "Good thing you asked brother" He looks over at me, Just to be clear, we're not real brothers, we're friends who happen to live with each other.

"The truck shouldn't be smoking, because according to what I've studied, the truck either smoke when there's a faulty wire casings in the heated residues engine block, or overheated liquids such as oil, transmission fluid or brake fluid, this happens when a vehicle sudden crashes into steal or some heavy objects, or when some technical issues occur like coolant system errors or when there isn't enough lubricant in the engine." Ifan is rattling with short breaths cause he's rushing through-

I didn't understand a word he said.

What the fuck is a brake fluid-!?

"What are you applying Ifan?" I ask because he doesn't look so good, his anxiousness is spreading all over his face and he's sweating so hard.

"I'm saying that your bike didn't clash into the truck, nor was it overheated, they already had exaggerated the truck to create a scene so that when the truck tries to rotate it burns down, think about it Sam..

Why did they hire a new driver when they could've made their loyal one work, they did it because-"

"They knew the truck was gonna explod." I complete his sentence.

"That's what I'm saying! I gave you the signal because I figured they planted something inside the truck's engine on purpose to make it explode." Ifan moves behind the truck.

"If what we're saying is true..why would they do it unless-"

"Unless they knew about us" Ifan cuts me mid sentence, wow we can really read each other's mind today.

"But I don't think that's the case.." I stand over my bike to pull it up.

I was right! after we heard Faisal mentioning that the drugs were supposed to be divided into four hubs equally because they come from a long way. We figured that all this time, Erdoğan was just greedy and he hired a new stuff because He was planning on killing them in that explosion after they subsequently transports the goods, so that everyone believes the goods were lost on their way here and him, in secrecy can have all to himself, too bad we ruined his fantasy. Babygirl is going to cry himself to sleep tonight.

Back to what I telling.

I pull my bike back up. Oh you poor beautiful thing, I wipe it with my sleeves when we both hear a truck coming.

"Did you had to add kerim to the rescue ugh" Ifan fake gaggs.

"Only he had something like this" I point at his truck. "Kerim!" I say, cute. "Cut the act, shift the bags" kerim gets out of the truck. We all secure the bags in kerim's truck, one after another, and he moves ahead.

"Are those men still unconscious" I check through the windows. The Back door unlocks. "Are you okay?" A man walks out, he's struggling to stand on his feet. His head's bleeding. "You fucking piece of shit" the man attacked me-

You know the rest.

Victor doesn't says anything, like at all! He's so unaware, makes me want to laugh.

He's just staring at me Cause he's mesmerised, morelike fallen in love with me. "What do you think?" I say, I'm way too hyped as compare to him.

"We nailed it right! If it wasn't for us, the goods would've been on Erdoğan's lap right now." I speak highly of us, because I know he doesn't like when I do this. I'm standing with my weight shifted onto one leg with the other foot resting on the surface and arms in my pocket. "We nailed it!!" Ifan jumps up in excitement. "Ow ow my arm"

"Not to forget he almost lost his arm today." I tell victor to add extra points.

Victor stayed silent. Eventually The news got to Faisal and drum rolls please! *drums*

Rat- a- tat- tat- ta!

We become a part of the hub!

He later on transferred us to one of his quarter room, at the back side of his mansion. It's very small but we'll work our way to Victor's room one day for sure. He paid us seven hundred big ones from which one hundred were handed to kerim, and two hundred were transferred to Ayat's new bank account. We settled in, got to know everyone, Had dinner.

We have our whole life ahead of us. This right now- It's a start. we'll step up.

up our game somehow.

Afterall It's only the beginning.

Our commencement.

My inception.

Because What happens next is the orgin of my story.

-DECEPTION.
