Aysel drank some cola, put it down, and stared bleakly at the clock before sighing.
"How long will it take?"
She watched as the seconds turned into minutes, and minutes into hours, and then, the three hands counting hours, minutes and seconds all clocked at 12.
It was the next day.
[Maybe there will be a mission before morning. Don't worry, Host, there's no way you would die.] It was clear the system was only trying to reassure her, as there was a hint of uncertainty in its voice too.
"Uhm, I don't think I can sleep," Aysel muttered to herself.
But how could she reject her mind and body from claiming what they wanted?
She woke up the next day at eight in the morning.
After cleaning up, she went to attend to Nathaniel as usual.
During their meal, he suddenly asked her, "Still thinking about your life?"
"Uh? Ho–how do you know?" Aysel sounded a bit stunned. Was her face that easy to read?
