"Marry Nathaniel Hero Grant? Wait, there's not much about him in the novel, the surname Grant sounds familiar... Anyway, he must be very rich, isn't he?" Aysel asked the system who immediately replied.
[Of course, he is super rich, in fact, he is the CEO of DeWhale Group. You will be a wealthy housewife if you were to marry him.]
"Marriage is not a child play though, don't you know that? You made it sound so easy as if I can just stand before him and put a ring on his finger." Aysel mumbled and the System replied smoothly. [Don't worry about that, he will be the one to propose the marriage.]
Before Aysel could ask what he was trying to say, the door suddenly opened, and a woman who looked like a housekeeper entered. Her eyes were filled with disdain as she stood before Aysel. "Madam asked me to bring you home, Miss Aysel."
Aysel was a little excited, thinking it was time to go to the Swift Mansion in a sleek car. She didn't mind that she hadn't met any of her family members yet; it wasn't strange since she wasn't favored by them.
In the end, after having her wound treated and checking out of the hospital, they arrived at the bus stop.
At first, Aysel was patient, telling herself the driver would meet them here, until a bus arrived and the housekeeper boarded.
Stunned, Aysel pulled her sleeve. "Nana, aren't we taking the car?"
The housekeeper was startled by the address and shot Aysel a strange look as if she had grown three heads. Aysel had always been rude to everyone, after all, and only Daisy addressed the housekeeper as "Nana."
Not thinking anything was wrong with her choice of words, Aysel continued to wait expectantly.
The housekeeper finally replied, "The youngest miss has a concert to attend today, so the family took the car."
With that, the woman entered the bus, and Aysel followed hesitantly, her footsteps dragging along the ground.
Somehow, she wondered if she had misunderstood the Swift family's wealth. She had expected a sleek BMW or Lamborghini, but in the end, she had to ride the bus?
The family only had one car? And they took it to go to a concert with their youngest daughter while she was still in the hospital?
It finally dawned on her just how neglected the original Aysel must have been. Aysel sighed, realizing that life wasn't going to be easy.
[Host, take it easy,] the system comforted her, but its sudden intrusion made Aysel nearly jump up from her seat, a curse escaping her lips out of habit, which startled the housekeeper, whose expression turned cold.
How vulgar...she thought, thinking at the back of her mind that Miss Daisy was much better and cultured than this Aysel.
Aysel didn't notice the housekeeper's disdainful gaze and was busy chiding the system in her heart. "Can you not do that? Are you trying to send me back to the hospital?" Aysel hissed internally.
[I apologize, Host. But you are so easily scared,] the system said, sounding almost exasperated.
"I wouldn't be if you didn't sneak up on me like that," Aysel retorted, rolling her eyes.
The bus ride wasn't long, and soon they arrived in front of a modest mansion. Aysel's anticipation grew as they entered, but inside, the house was eerily silent.
She had no idea where her room was and didn't want to be suspected by asking the housekeeper. Deciding to figure it out herself, she walked upstairs and started opening doors.
The first room was shockingly small and cluttered, looking more like a storage closet than a bedroom. Even her old room in her past life was bigger and better furnished.
Aysel sighed and moved on, opening the next door. She was immediately blinded by the sheer luxury of the room before her. It was stylishly decorated with expensive vases and pictures, and the bed looked incredibly soft and plush.
Aysel was satisfied at what she was seeing, thinking that this was the only thing an heiress should be offered.
With that, she sank into the plush seat and letting out a relieved breath. As she took in the luxurious surroundings, her eyes landed on a vanity mirror across the room.
Suddenly, her curiosity piqued. "I haven't checked myself out in the mirror yet. I hope I look better than I did in my past life," she murmured, feeling a mix of hope and excitement.
Well, she should look good—after all, she was a celebrity now, right?
Standing before the large body mirror, she covered her eyes in anticipation.
"Three."
"Two."
"One."
Her hands flew off her face, and her eyes widened in shock at her reflection. For a few moments, she was speechless, her expression surreal. "Is that... me?" she whispered, shaking her head in disbelief. "So that's how I've looked since I left the hospital? No wonder I got weird glances! If I didn't know better, I'd think I was auditioning for a gothic horror film with this kind of makeup."
Wasting no time, Aysel dashed to the bathroom and took a thorough bath, scrubbing every inch of herself clean. When she looked at herself in the shower door's reflection, her eyes widened even more.
She was... stunning. Porcelain skin like a boiled egg, delicate facial features reminiscent of an elf, bright gray eyes, and naturally red lips. Even though this Aysel was only in her twenties, she was more voluptuous and curvy than her past self had ever been.
"I will treat this body well," Aysel vowed, pulling a towel over her body.
She had just returned to the bedroom when a voice suddenly yelled out, and Aysel turned to see a girl standing in the doorway.
The Daisy on camera was different from the one before her now. Daisy on camera was known for her gracefulness and elegance, she was on the petite side with dark brown hair and shimmering blue eyes. She was indeed attractive.
Daisy's eyes widened at the sight of her older sister. "Is that you, Aysel?" she asked, a little incredulously.
Was this the same gothic b*tch?!
Aysel nodded. Their features were a little alike, so she could guess Daisy's identity.
Seeing Aysel affirmed brought nothing but anger to Daisy's chest, was this b*tch trying to seduce someone? How dare she walk around with her bare face?!
But what made her even angrier was her towel on Aysel's body and she yelled. "What the hell are you doing in my room?"
Aysel blinked in confusion, her hand, which had been toweling her hair, dropping from her head. "Your room? I thought it was mine."
"Yours?" Daisy scoffed, her anger rising as she eyed Aysel. "Did you hit your head or something?"
"Yes, I did," Aysel replied honestly. After all, she had just had the gauze removed from her head at the hospital.
"Then you need to go back to the hospital! Oh my God." Daisy huffed with a glare and then, her expression suddenly changed and she sidestepped Aysel, running into the bathroom. Her expression darkened as she shook her shampoo bottle and furiously stomped back into the room Aysel. "You even used my shampoo? Do you know how much it costed me?! Selling you for twice your worth couldn't buy it!"
Without waiting for Aysel to respond, she flung open the door and yelled down the stairs, "Mom, come and see this!"
The Swift couple, not knowing what was wrong but alarmed by their daughter's shout, rushed upstairs. They were panicky, thinking something had happened to her.
"What's going on here?" they asked softly, and Madam Swift—Jolie's expression changed at the sight of Aysel. "What are you doing in your sister's room, Aysel?"
