Chapter 1 - Chapter 1 The System Awakens to Save the Cannon Fodder

"Beep! Beep! Beep!"

"Host detected, initiating target program scan..."

"Target program scan complete. Target locked. Subject: Alexandra, Ultimate Female Sidekick. Soul level: Advanced. Soul compatibility with Binder: 100%."

Amidst a sea of white, a frigid male voice echoed in Alexandra's ears.

"Who are you?" Unable to discern her surroundings or the direction of the voice, Alex's face contorted with wariness. She recalled Alex's sword piercing her heart, only to awaken here. Had she not died, but been captured by Alex to suffer further torment?

"This is the Quick Transmigration Female Sidekick System. You are currently in a soul state, with but a fleeting moment before you disintegrate into nothingness." Unperturbed by Alex's confusion, or perhaps unwilling to explain, the voice continued.

"What are you talking about?" Alex frowned, utterly perplexed. Soul state? Was she truly deceased?

"Will you choose to disintegrate or forge a contract with me, completing tasks for a chance at rebirth?"

"What do you mean, disintegrate? Clarify this situation immediately!" Frustrated by the other's disregard, Alex blurted out her confusion, drowning in a sea of unintelligible words.

"In your current soul state, without the System's intervention, you would swiftly fade from existence in the Xuantian Realm. Even within the System, your soul is granted but half the time before dissipation. Refuse my contract, and your soul shall crumble to dust." The voice deepened, betraying a hint of dissatisfaction.

"You mean I'm already dead? Without your contract, I'll cease to exist, even as a soul?" Alex's silence gave way to comprehension.

"Affirmative."

"And what of this rebirth you speak of?" Recalling the previous exchange, Alex grasped the concept of rebirth as her reward, her curiosity now piqued by the prospect of compensation.

"Answer 'yes' if you wish to survive!" The voice barked, its abruptness jarring Alex.

After a moment to compose herself, Alex felt her form gradually dissipating.

"Fool! Answer 'yes' or face eternal oblivion!"

The instinct to survive ignited within Alex, and she hastily replied in the affirmative. Immediately, a piercing whiteness blinded her, accompanied by a gale that whirled around her, plunging her into a dizzying vortex.

Time seemed to stand still before the gale ceased, and Alex opened her eyes to behold a shimmering golden interface floating before her:

Name: Alexandra

Gender: Female

Age: 17

Vitality: 22 (out of 100)

Intelligence: 42 (out of 100)

Resistance: 32 (out of 100)

Strength: 26 (out of 100)

Life Force: 12 (out of 100)

Stunned by the sudden display, the interface coalesced into a twilight aura, wrapping around her wrist to form a gleaming silver bracelet adorned with intricate patterns, a fox etched with remarkable life likeness.

"What is this?" Alexandra gazed at the bracelet, captivated by its beauty.

"A sealed realm, harboring treasures beyond your imagination, to aid you in times of need." The voice now carried a semblance of politeness, perhaps due to the forged contract.

"How may I unlock its secrets and claim its treasures?" Alexandra's excitement was palpable. In her world, powerful beings possessed personal realms filled with riches, and Alex was no exception.

"I am uncertain. It depends on your own destiny. To my knowledge, none have yet unlocked its mysteries." The voice replied nonchalantly.

Alexandra's expression faltered momentarily.

Noticing her silence, the voice continued, "Alexandra, your mission is to fulfill the wishes of female side characters doomed to tragedy, overcoming their narratives and ascending above the heroine. For your first task, you may choose your destination. Which world do you wish to embark upon?"

A new golden interface presented itself:

Modern World

Ancient World

Post-Apocalyptic World

Fantasy World

Xianxia World

Mystical World

"One moment." Faced with unfamiliar terminology, Alexandra inquired, "What are these? And what do you mean by side characters and heroines?"

"The Modern World holds the answers you seek." The voice replied cryptically.

"Then I shall venture into the Modern World." Realizing further inquiry would yield no more, Alexandra made her choice.

"Task protocol locked on Modern World. Alexandra, initiate transfer."

As the words echoed, the interface fragmented into a maelstrom, engulfing her in an instant. Darkness enveloped her, followed by a searing pain akin to a thousand arrows piercing her flesh. The agony threatened to consume her consciousness, yet she remained lucid, enduring the torment until it abated. Before she could open her eyes, a forceful shove sent her crashing into a solid object, eliciting a gasp of pain that barely suppressed her temper.

"Alex, I warn you, if you cause any more trouble for Tian Tian, I won't hesitate to take action!"

A gruff male voice, laced with anger and disgust, pierced the air. Alexandra's eyes snapped open to reveal a handsome man and a beautiful woman standing before her. The man glared at her with fury, his eyes blazing with intent to inflict harm. The woman, her face tear-stained and bearing a slap mark, huddled behind him, looking somewhat comical.

Though perplexed, Alexandra's instincts were sharp. Recognizing the dynamics of a love triangle gone awry, with the original host at a disadvantage, she opted for caution, observing the situation before making a move.

"Ethan, it wasn't Miss Andra who hit me," the woman whispered, tugging gently at the man's sleeve.

"TianTian, stop making excuses for her. She won't appreciate it!" The man's expression was a mix of anguish and helplessness.

"Ethan, truly, it wasn't Miss Andra. Trust me."

"If not her, then who?" The man's disbelief was palpable as he turned the woman to face him, demanding an answer with a stern gaze.
