The beast snarled, standing proud as it uttered a single word in a harsh tone.
"Go!"
Alone the word was as simple as it sounded and didn't hold much weight, but accompanying it was a malice so thick that one could almost reach out and touch it. Following the simple order, the shadowy incarnations surged forward like a flood, an unnatural army of more than two hundred inhumane creatures charged at them.
Nessa scanned the battlefield, her gaze shifting between the onrushing horde and the desolate remains of the camp It was all too clear to her. With both Jareth and Victor taken out of the fight so easily, they had no options left, all they could do was run.
She looked to Kaleb, her expression one of determination.
"There's nothing more we can do here."
Kaleb shifted his gaze to her, unsure of what to make of the situation, and said the only thing that came to mind.
"Well, yeah... but..."
