Ever since his core split, Kaleb had known things wouldn't be the same, but this was too much of a change. When Kaleb first learned how to use mana he had so much of it one would think he had somehow stolen it from others. But the man he had access to now was nothing but a drop in the river.
He had become probably the only person in this continent to experience both extremes as a mage with too little power would surely die and a mage with so much power they had almost no control of it would die too.
As he sat on his ass, lamenting his shortcomings Nessa's voice cut through the ensuing chaos.
"Stay back."
He regained his composure and rushed to his feet.
"But I want to..."
She interrupted him, her tone giving no room for discussion.
"You're weak Kaleb, the longer you stay here the more danger we are in so just go!"
Kaleb hesitated, his heart sinking as Nessa moved in once again.
