Chapter 2 - Body trade

A regular traffic accident has now become a criminal homicide case through the dissection by Wang Mas. Wang Mas headed straight to the traffic police impound lot, where the burnt BMW car that was found with the female corpse was located.

It was a vast parking lot, with the latest confiscated vehicles from the traffic police parked at the entrance. The further one walked inside, the more dust covered the cars. When he turned to the right corner, Wang Mas could no longer see a single intact vehicle—there were cars with collapsed fronts, crumpled rears, and even wrecks that had been split in half, with broken wires and iron bars jutting up towards the sky at odd angles. It was simply a "car graveyard."

Mason Wang laughed at himself because of his own associations. It's a detective's occupational hazard; everything he sees easily reminds him of a corpse.

In the parking lot under the scorching sun, the "corpse" of the burned BMW lies in the corner, exposed to the elements. Its charred, stripped-down frame stands out even among a pile of vehicle wreckage.

No one is protecting the scene?

"Isn't there a shed over there? It rained a couple of days ago! Why isn't it covered up?" Wang Mas couldn't help but explode in anger.

The traffic police officer, after explaining the case, no longer wanted to stay with the short-tempered little detective and quickly slipped back to the office at the entrance of the parking lot.

The BMW was found three days ago in the evening at a fork leading to an unfinished building project, with the front of the car having crashed into a concrete pillar by the roadside and caught fire. A motorcyclist saw the flames from a distance and called the police. By the time the fire truck arrived, the fire was almost out.

After examining the female corpse, King Mas is now going to perform an "autopsy" on the wreckage of the car. He downed half a bottle of mineral water, put on gloves, and opened the toolbox.

Musk Wang slowly circled around the bare, blackened iron frame of the BMW: all the windows were shattered, the tires completely melted, and the originally luxurious interior had been completely consumed by flames, leaving only some metal framework and taut springs in the driver's seat.

The tragic state of the BMW "corpse" is very similar to that of a female corpse. In Musk's mind, he is simulating the scene of the vehicle burning; it must have been a fierce blaze.

Mas Wang carefully pried off the black sticky substance that was adhered to the driver's seat with pliers, not sparing the surrounding ashes, and put everything into a sealed bag.

Such a situation where the fire burns so evenly and fiercely in various places inside the car is quite rare. And "rare" often implies "suspicion."

Mas Wang put the plastic seal bag back into the toolbox and took off his gloves. These items will be sent back to the laboratory to check if there were any unusual flammable materials at the scene, such as gasoline, which should not be present inside the vehicle. The possibility of arson in this car accident cannot be ruled out.

When leaving the parking lot, he specifically went to the entrance to find the traffic police and said, "Find a place for that car to shelter from the rain."

"No one wants it again, I called his wife several times, but she still won't come to identify it," the traffic police said impatiently.

Mas Wang was startled and asked, "What did you say? The car owner's wife?!"

Musk Wang clearly remembers that although the external sexual characteristics of the charred corpse on the dissection table had been burned away, there was a uterus in the pelvis, confirming it was definitely a female!

Mas Wang immediately inquired about the owner of the BMW. It turned out that the owner was a male and a wealthy one at that.

Wang Chengfu, in his 40s, was engaged in the clothing foreign trade business a few years ago and enjoyed a period of prosperity. However, in recent years, as the market has been sluggish, although Boss Wang still drives a luxury car, his company is actually insolvent, with a deficit of over ten million in his accounts.

It can be confirmed that the person in the BMW is not the owner, Wang Chengfu.

Who is the charred female corpse? Why did it appear in Wang Chengfu's car?

Mas Wang and his colleagues immediately began investigating the women around Wang Chengfu.

Wang Chengfu's wife separated from him before the New Year and took their two children with her. The two of them haven't seen each other much for over half a year, and the only times they have contacted each other were for her to ask Wang Chengfu for child support. However, whenever money is mentioned, Wang Chengfu always makes excuses and has never gone to see the children. So when the traffic police notified her to come and identify the car, she was completely uninterested.

Most of the other women were just business contacts, and none of the female creditors have gone missing. Wang Chengfu did have one or two lovers, but he hasn't been in touch with them since he got into debt. The external investigation team also verified that several of his former lovers are doing well and have not encountered any problems.

After searching all around, no suspicious person was found, yet Boss Wang just "disappeared" like that, leaving behind a decayed and then charred female corpse in his BMW.

The foreign investigation team found something very suspicious. A few months before the car accident, Wang Chengfu purchased an insurance policy with a coverage of 5 million, naming his wife and children as beneficiaries. Coincidentally, the traffic accident occurred just one week after the observation period of the insurance had ended.

In other words, if the car accident is classified as a traffic accident and the body is identified as that of the car owner, Wang Chengfu's wife and children will be able to receive a compensation of 5 million in insurance.

The captain informed King Mas about the situation and expressed his thoughts: "This kid might be trying to commit insurance fraud."

But King Mas immediately stated that it was impossible. The biggest flaw was that on his dissection table lay a charred body of a woman! Even if Wang Chengfu wanted to fake his death to commit insurance fraud, he should have gotten a male corpse to take the fall; who would be so foolish? Moreover, where could one casually obtain a corpse?

The burned materials sent for examination from the car also provided reassurance to Wang Mas, as they tested positive for "gasoline." This indicates that the BMW fire was not an accident, but rather that someone intentionally poured gasoline to burn the car and incinerate the body.
