As soon as I returned to the past, I began to slowly learn and comprehend the hydra's fighting pattern to get closer to killing it. I tried many methods of fighting and utilizing my items, even sacrificing Jack, but I couldn't manage to kill it.
The most I could do was slice one of the hydra's heads, but I didn't want to end the fight with just one head and then run away.
I didn't have any good reason to try and kill the hydra, even though I knew I could achieve success by just taking the head and running away. I did that partly due to the anger of being weaker than the hydra, and mostly because of the perfection I promised to pursue.
