I let out a deep sigh after finishing my testimony for the jury. The entire defense process had been extremely draining. Still, Seraphina told me I could leave the rest to her, so my days would be easier moving forward.
"Finally, you learned how to behave properly," Seraphina said in an almost complimentary tone.
I smiled back and moved on, replaying in my mind what I needed to do. First, I looked at my phone, I needed to, at least, say hi to the girls… No battery? I was surprised to find that it wouldn't turn on, but it made sense. The last few days had been so intense that I hadn't even remembered to charge my phone.
"There should be a charger at my mom's house..." I murmured to myself.
"You look tired, need some energy drink?" Vanessa, holding a can of Red Bull in her hand, approached with a cheerful smile.
"Better not. I think my body can't handle staying awake any longer."
