"I'm going to bed," Amelia said in a heavy tone.
Her eyes were still teary, her makeup ruined, and her expression filled with sadness and despair. The girl seemed completely lost.
Helena watched her friend walk away with slow steps before heading to her room to lie down. She felt a tightness in her chest, unsure of what to do at that moment. What should she say? How could she comfort her friend?
Still, she felt at least a small sense of relief. At least the girl wasn't going to see that idiot Cole anymore. Trying to stay optimistic, Helena took another sip, imagining her friend would get over it.
"I know she'll find someone better..." she muttered to herself.
Her mind wandered between doubts. Sometimes she had positive thoughts; other times, her heart sank into pessimism.
