The bustling streets of New York City thrummed with life, a sea of people going about their daily routines. But as the sun began to dim unexpectedly, a wave of confusion swept through the crowd. People paused mid-conversation, eyes drawn upward as an enormous shadow loomed over the city, blotting out the sun.
"What's going on?" a young woman exclaimed, her phone already out and recording the phenomenon.
"It's not supposed to be an eclipse today!" another person shouted, squinting into the sky, bewildered by the sight. Murmurs of unease spread through the crowd as more people pulled out their devices to capture the unusual event.
The shadow grew darker, an inky black moon appearing against the azure sky. It hung ominously over the city, and as it shifted, the silhouette of massive ships began to break free from its surface, looming over New York like harbingers of doom.
"What the hell is that?" a man gasped, his voice shaking as the realization set in.
