Chapter 257 - Chapter 257: Enies Lobby: How Smooth Everything Is

The sudden completion of the task made the Armament Haki that Takumi had activated on his hands dissipate.

He hadn't expected that Enel and Kaku's accidental actions would, once again, inadvertently help him complete a mission...

As soon as the two landed, seeing Takumi nearby, Enel excitedly waved at him.

Regaining his composure, Takumi asked in a calm tone, "What happened?"

Enel immediately pointed at Kaku and shifted the blame, "It's all because Long Nose didn't warn me. I accidentally triggered an explosive device and blew up the whole building…"

"I did warn you," Kaku retorted, refusing to take the blame. "You just didn't believe me, thought I was lying. It's clearly your fault, don't try to pin it on me."

"Tch… Long Nose, don't forget you were a spy just ten minutes ago!"

"The me from ten minutes ago is already dead. Besides, that's a separate matter. Now that we're on the same team, I wouldn't harm you. If you don't believe me, I can't help that."

"You just need a good beating!" Enel snapped, lightning flickering around his hands.

Before Enel could make a move, Takumi appeared between them and jumped up, delivering a solid punch to both their heads.

"Quiet down! If you keep bickering, I'll make sure you're silent forever," Takumi said, his voice full of irritation.

Rubbing his aching head, Enel grumbled, "You always hit me in the head... I'm going to be brain-dead at this rate…"

Kaku chuckled, "Even without the hits, you're still dim-witted."

Enel shot Kaku a glare.

At that moment, from the direction of the main gate of Enies Lobby, two loud booming sounds echoed.

Kashii and Oimo, the giants guarding the second gate, had heard the commotion from the collapsing Judicial Tower. Without a word, they charged toward the source.

"Damn it, not even CP9 could stop them?" Kashii asked, his expression dark.

"It looks like these guys are tough. We can't let them rampage through Enies Lobby," Oimo replied as he ran beside him. "We've been guarding this place for 45 years. There are only 55 more to go until our leaders are freed. We can't let these intruders ruin everything now!"

"Exactly! We have to take them down! Oimo, let's attack together!" Kashii shouted, raising his giant spiked club.

Oimo gripped his massive axe tightly, and as they reached Takumi's group, they swung their weapons down with all their might.

Takumi, Enel, and Kaku immediately leapt in different directions to dodge the strike.

"The strength of giants is no joke," Kaku warned. "Be careful, both of you."

"Tch, it's just raw power. Only weaklings like you are afraid," Enel scoffed dismissively.

Takumi glanced at Enel and said nonchalantly, "Fine, you take care of them."

Enel grinned and immediately spun his golden staff, striking the drums on his back twice.

A thunder dragon roared out from the drums, flying straight toward Oimo and piercing through his body.

"Argh!" Oimo let out a pained scream, collapsing to his knees, but he wasn't dead, nor had he lost consciousness. However, his face had turned pale.

"Oimo, are you okay?" Kashii rushed over to help him up.

"I'm not dead yet…" Oimo replied, shaking his head.

"Tch, tough hide you've got there. If the thunder dragon isn't enough, let's see how you handle a hundred million volts!" Enel said, preparing to strike again.

But before Enel could make his move, Kaku stepped in, "Wait a moment."

"Long Nose, don't forget your place!" Enel reminded.

"I know," Kaku said with a dry chuckle. "But I have a way to subdue them."

Enel paused and raised an eyebrow, "... Fine, go ahead."

"Leave it to me," Kaku said, stepping forward without waiting for a reply. He used Moonwalk to approach Kashii and Oimo.

Kashii, furious, swung his massive spiked club at Kaku.

Kaku dodged swiftly and said, "You've been deceived by the World Government. Your leaders aren't in their hands anymore."

"Liar!" Kashii roared, swinging his weapon again. "We've been told that if we guard this place for another 55 years, they'll be released."

"I'm not lying. Your leaders really aren't with the World Government. I don't know all the details, but they're on an island somewhere in the Grand Line. Continuing to guard this place is just a waste of time."

"Stop trying to trick us! You're all going to die!" Kashii shouted, continuing his assault.

Kaku dodged using Moonwalk, but his injuries were slowing him down. As he was about to explain more, the pain from his broken bones caused him to pause for a moment.

In that brief pause, Kashii's spiked club came crashing down toward him.

At the same time, Oimo, having regained his balance, swung his giant axe at Kaku as well.

Just as the two giants were about to land their blows, Enel's voice rang out, full of disdain, "Is this your brilliant plan to subdue them? Pathetic."

With that, Enel gathered lightning in both hands, sending a massive bolt down from the sky, which struck Oimo directly.

Oimo didn't even have time to scream before his eyes rolled back, and he collapsed with a loud "thud."

As for Kashii, Takumi appeared above him in a flash using Moonwalk, coating his fist in Armament Haki. Using Pegasus Meteor Fist, he slammed Kashii's head into the ground with tremendous force.

Kaku looked on in shock, his mind swirling with mixed emotions.

Once again, he realized how weak he was...

"Tch, they're still alive after that? They've got some serious vitality," Enel muttered, yawning in boredom.

Takumi landed gracefully on the ground as the system's notification echoed in his mind once more.

[Ding! Defeated members of the Giant Warrior Pirates, Kashii and Oimo. Sign-in progress +30%. Current total progress: 70%. Reward: Pegasus Meteor Fist level +1. Current Pegasus Meteor Fist level: Lv2.]

Takumi stood silently for a moment.

Sometimes, the progress seemed to come... quite quickly.

Without dwelling on it, Takumi mentally asked the system, *What's the final task?*

[Ding! Destroy the Gates of Justice to gain the remaining 30% sign-in progress.]

Now that he knew what the final task was, Takumi wasn't even inclined to do it himself. He simply glanced at Enel and pointed toward the massive gate that stood behind what used to be the Judicial Tower.

"See that gate?" Takumi asked.

Enel followed Takumi's gaze and nodded, "Yeah, what about it?"

With a smirk, Takumi said, "Go destroy it."

"Captain, are you serious?" Kaku asked, startled.

Without asking any further questions, Enel cracked his knuckles, transformed into lightning, and shot toward the Gates of Justice.

Within seconds, a gigantic thunder god loomed over the massive gate. With a deafening "BOOM," Enel's attack shattered the Gates of Justice into countless pieces, which rained down into the sea below.

Simultaneously, the system's voice rang in Takumi's mind once more.

[Ding! Destroyed the Gates of Justice. Sign-in progress +30%.]

[Ding! Enies Lobby sign-in task complete. Congratulations, Host, you have received 1 ton of Seastone, now stored in system space. Six Powers skill set level +1. Current Six Powers levels: Finger Pistol Lv5, Iron Body Lv7, Shave Lv5, Moonwalk Lv5, Tempest Kick Lv5, Paper Art Lv5.]

*The full Six Powers upgrade is nice, but a ton of Seastone...?*

Seastone was rare in this world, but the system was being incredibly generous, gifting him a whole ton of it. Was the system just trying to fill up his storage space?

After a moment of silence, Takumi opened his personal status screen and glanced at his next destination.

Next stop: Baltigo...
