Chapter 1 - The End of Jackson and the Start of a New life in Another World

Jackson stormed down the street rain pouring down from the sky soaking him completely. His mind was racing his heart pounding in his chest. "How could she do this to me?? Six years... Six God damn years!" He clenched his fists the image of his now ex-girlfriend with someone else burned into his mind. "I walked in on them... and then she had the nerve to break up with me?? Unbelievable!"

He started crossing the street "I should've known... I mean the signs were all there. Late replies constant excuses... but no I had to believe in her. What a fucking idiot."

His feet pounded against the wet pavement his thoughts spinning faster than the rain that blurred his vision. "Whatever... maybe this is a sign. A fresh start right? No more—"

SCREEEECH!

Jackson barely registered the headlights speeding toward him. "Oh, shi—!"

Everything went black.

Jackson felt a cold damp sensation all over him as he slowly came to. His whole body felt stiff like he had been sleeping on the ground for hours. "Ugh... why does my back feel so heavy?" he groaned. He tried to shift his weight but something wasn't right His limbs were sluggish and his whole body felt... wrong.

He blinked his eyes open the dim light barely cutting through the fog in his mind. The first thing he noticed was the ceiling a jagged surface of stone. "What the hell... where am I?" His voice echoed faintly in the confined space. Slowly he tried to push himself up, but his arms weren't responding the way they should. His legs felt short stiff like they couldn't stretch out fully. "What's going on with me? Why can't I... move properly?"

Frustration began to consume Jackson as he forced his head to turn taking in his surroundings. A cave. A dark cold cave with the constant drip of water in the distance. The air smelled damp earthy almost suffocating. "What is this place? Did I get dragged here or something?"

He tried again to push himself up but his body still wouldn't cooperate. His arms felt weird stubby and hard and his back... it was like a huge weight was pressing down on him. "Come on... just move! What the hell is wrong with my body?!"

Jackson started forcing himself to crawl. The weird sensation of his limbs sliding across the damp ground. "I just need to get out of here... and hope someone finds me..."

As Jackson was crawling looking for a way out he stopped Infront of a puddle on the caves floor his eyes went wide as he took in the puddle reflecting a strange shape. At first he couldn't quite understand what he was seeing but as his vision cleared he saw it a small black creature with gold markings glinting faintly in the dim light.

"What... the...?" He squinted, leaning closer to the water and it hit him. The creature... that weird black thing... it was him.

"No no no this can't be right!" Jackson's mind raced as he flailed his short stubby limbs making tiny ripples in the puddle. The reflection mirrored his every move. A tiny black turtle its shell faintly glowing with intricate gold markings. "I'm a turtle?! A fucking turtle?!"

Jackson's heart pounded as panic set in. "This has to be a dream right? I mean... I catch my girlfriend cheating on me she dumps me then I get hit by a damn' truck, and now... I wake up as a... as a fucking turtle?!"

Jackson stared at his reflection in disbelief. "This is insane... there's no way this is real. A turtle? Me? How does this even happen?!"

He shook his head trying to clear his thoughts but the weight of his new reality pressed down on him. "No... no this can't be real. This is a nightmare right? I'll wake up any second now..."

But as the cold, damp air filled his lungs and the rough stone beneath him dug into his soft underbelly, Jackson couldn't escape the truth. This wasn't a dream. It wasn't a nightmare. He was no longer human.
