Chapter 83 - Chibi Evelyn part2

Pov Marie,

"Did you hate eating too, Mary?"

"Not particularly. Breakfast will be the same as usual."

"Yes, but the food is so good that I want to eat forever."

"By continuing to talk like that, you sound like the embodiment of Gluttony."

Chibi Evelyn—that's what I've decided to call her—and I finally arrived at the Great Hall for breakfast.

As soon as we got there, she rushed to the teachers' table, greeting them one by one, except for Lockhart, who she completely ignored. Even in her Chibi state, she knows that Lockhart is a fraud.

I hurried over to grab her and bring her back to our table while the teachers asked me what was happening.

"From what I understand, Evelyn is ill, and only her young parallel spirit remains well enough to take control of her body. However, I don't know when she will recover, just for your information."

I dropped her at the Ravenclaw table, but she stood up straight while I sat down and headed to the Gryffindor table.

"Neville, how are you? Did you have a good night?"

As she approached him, before he could answer, she took her little brother in her arms.

"Evelyn, what's going on? Why are you acting like this?"

Neville was very disturbed by Evelyn's attitude, and it's understandable because I was also troubled.

"I just wanted to say hello. Is that wrong?"

She looked down as she was about to say the last word. She's so cute that it should be illegal.

"No, it's not that. It's just that you surprised me."

Then she tried to climb onto the bench to sit next to him, and this gesture was the cutest reaction I had ever seen. Is today the day I will finally reach heaven? Mother, father, wait for me—I'm coming to join you.

!!?

But what am I saying? They're still alive.

It was especially when I saw my grandparents on the other side of the river that I recovered my senses and returned to the mortal world.

Apparently, today we're eating at the Gryffindor table, something we haven't done since Neville's first year, when we sat there to check on him.

After the meal, we went into the Room of Requirement. When the door opened, it was filled with board games.

"Since when has the Room of Requirement become the game club?"

"Since I asked it to be full of games so I could play with you. You don't want to play?"

How could I resist her puppy-dog eyes? I accepted. To avoid making her sad by beating her completely, I held back and played at my minimum. My pride was utterly destroyed.

"To think I would be beaten by a 5-year-old because I found her cute—who would have believed it? ... Actually, I've always been like this, so nothing has really changed. Why do I have to play and sacrifice my pride against children? That's the better question."

"Hihihi, you are so lame, Mary."

And now she's making fun of me. You're lucky to be my girlfriend.

Author's note: FBI, open up.

Shut up already! She's the guilty one here, with her parallel thoughts aged over 80, while I'm only 13 years old. Plus, it's not my fault that she's been rejuvenated. As far as I know, she was the same age as me when we started dating, so FBI, you can leave—I'm innocent.

So, as I was saying, she's making fun of me. You're lucky to be my girlfriend, or else I'd beat you up for not caring about my defeat.

After all the games and the cakes she asked the house-elves to bring, it was time to go to sleep.

"Thank you, Mary, for playing with me."

Am I sad that my honor is in the mud? Yes, but at least Evelyn's thanks made up for it.

"Good night, Evelyn."
