Chapter 48 - Recognize feelings

I opened my eyes and remembered the relatively quiet day I was going to have today. Marie has to train for tomorrow's match, and I can study for my next thesis topic, which will focus on the greatest sorcerers from different generations.

I wondered if Hermione would do some research with me—she should be calm and not worry about her results.

When we arrived in the Great Hall, all the students were talking among themselves, and it seemed like they were all discussing the same thing.

"Hello, girls, what's going on?"

I went to see my roommates because I was curious.

"You know who appeared last night, and Harry defeated him."

WHAT!?

"Could you repeat what you said? Going straight to the point is good, but I don't have enough information to understand what's happening."

Apparently, last night Voldy went after the Philosopher's Stone, but Hermione, Harry, and Ron followed him. They braved all the trials to reach the Stone, and there was Voldy trying to retrieve it.

I still can't believe what happened, so I went to Dumbledore's office because he would know more.

From what I understood, Quirrell was Voldy's servant. I was surprised, but at the same time, we knew nothing about him.

I would have loved to see the trio's faces when they realized it wasn't Professor Snape who was the villain in this story.

And with the other information Professor Dumbledore gave me, because of Harry, the Stone almost fell into Voldy's hands—since to possess it, you had to want it but not want to use it.

Another important piece of information is that my little brother stood up to the Gryffindor duo to stop them from passing and losing points for our house, but Hermione appeared behind him and petrified him.

Poor Neville. I hope he won't underestimate himself because of this defeat, as he has great potential—perhaps even better than mine.

I would buy him a rare plant from America to console him and congratulate him for standing up to his friends in loyalty to his house.

But if I've understood correctly, the trio's courage almost brought Voldy back, so we really shouldn't be congratulating them.

What shocked me the most was that, apart from the Cerberus, the trials weren't the hardest.

I could have done all the tests without much trouble, as long as I knew how to get past the Cerberus.

After that, not wanting to work anymore, I went to watch Marie's training.

Seeing her fly warmed my heart, and I worried about anything that might happen to her. I also feel my heart tighten when she talks to someone else.

I have to congratulate Marie because she managed to make me fall in love with her in less than a year, even if I don't show it and maintain a cool attitude.

I believe the exact term for this in Japan is "Tsundere."

It's not an absolute love, so I'll test it with a date during the holidays to be 100% sure of what I want from a relationship like this.

I don't know how long I spent watching her before Hermione came to sit next to me, not wanting to speak.

"That was a really stupid nighttime adventure."

"I know."

She didn't say anything more because she was ashamed of her reckless actions.

"If you had told me, I would have informed the teachers."

"But we already tried, and it didn't work."

"It's normal—you don't have enough influence, and the teachers would think you were lying. But they know that if I had said something, they would have listened to me and rushed to protect the Stone. Professor Dumbledore probably told them that I knew and was helping."

Then I turned to her and smiled at her.

"But the most important thing is that you are alive and you do not try something so dangerous. And I also congratulate you for having passed all the tests even if it was not complicated."

Author's note: Don't come say that Evelyn didn't participate in the mission because she said she wouldn't intervene and the only thing she did was find Voldy's servant.
