Claire's POV
Evander's shoulders slumped slightly, the anger in his posture giving away to his sadness. "And now... now he is not even here to explain himself."
I reached out hesitantly, placing a hand on his arm. "Evander, he loved you. That much I'm sure of. Maybe he didn't tell you because he didn't want you to see him differently, or maybe he just didn't know how to tell you. But I know he cared for you deeply."
Evander didn't respond immediately, his gaze fixed on the floor. When he finally spoke, his voice was quieter, filled with a deep ache.
"Maybe," he said, more to himself than to me. "But it doesn't make this any easier to accept." He said and walked away from there.
