The carriage wheel, it turned out, was broken. And not just the easy part of the wheel they could quickly replace. The axle was damaged from their trip down the mountain. Considering what could have happened trying to go down in that bad weather, it wasn't that bad of a result...
But now that they'd found the damage, they couldn't risk going forward, as it was unlikely they'd make it to the castle before it broke completely.
Which meant, they were going to have to get the axle replaced. And while the tavern was very accommodating for a variety of different services, it didn't exactly do anything like wheel construction.
Luckily, it didn't need to. There was a man that was recommended to them - one who made a living doing odd jobs in the village. It was his job, literally.
