"Airie." His voice was quiet.
Her heart was hammering against her ribs, the sound loud and heavy in her ears.
The doctor...really hadn't told Donncahd.
At least not yet.
But it was still stressful. Having someone find out one of her secrets.
Fortunately he hadn't realized what that secret meant. If he had, he wouldn't have been nearly so understanding. She was certain of that.
And she couldn't trust that anyone else wouldn't realize it.
...Even if Donncahd didn't recognize it, he'd probably still consider it some kind of capital offense for his princes to be dying.
And.
Speaking of that...
She hadn't even had time to process what the doctor had said.
It was much like what the first one had said but...
Even worse, really.
She was sick. She was dying.
Maybe not at this very moment.
But she would be. Soon. Every time she had an episode, she'd get closer.
And she couldn't avoid those.
