Xero slumped in the last seat of the bus the worn fabric digging into his pudgy sides. His clothes a size too small barely stretched over his large stomach the sweat trickled down his acne ridden face gathering in the folds of his double chin. Every bump in the road made his flabby arms jiggle. He was nothing more than a regular beta a walking target.

The bus sped down the road heading towards the city. Xero had only one goal in mind pick up the limited-edition Edging simulator. It was the only thing that gave him some sense of purpose an escape from his reality. Xero felt shamed by the stares of the other passengers. They didn't bother hiding their disgust. To them he was a loser a walking L.

As the bus pulled up to the city stop Xero dragged himself out of his seat feeling every eye on him. The city was alive with energy people bustling about their business but for Xero it was just another place where he didn't belong. He walked through the streets the smell of fast food and sweat coming from his body.

Just as Xero was about to turn a corner he was shoved to the ground his face smacking against the pavement as he groaned in pain the taste of blood filling his mouth.

"Watch where you're going fatass!" mocked a deep voice.

Xero looked up his vision blurred and he saw three towering figures looming over him. They were built like brick walls their muscles almost bursting out of their shirts. They were Sigma males the kind of men who ruled the world and stomped on anyone weaker.

"Look at this beta male no rizz!" The Sigma yelled kicking Xero in the ribs.

The pain shot through his body making him curl up into a ball. They laughed at Xero as tears started to pour out of his eyes.

The beating went on for what felt like hours each punch and kick showing how utterly powerless he was. Xero's vision began to fade the world around him dimming. He was on the edge of consciousness the laughter of the Sigma's fading into the distance.

Just as everything was fading to black a voice rang out in his head.

"Negative Aura requirement met: Awakening the Ultimate Sigma System."

Xero's consciousness slowly returned he found himself lying in a hospital bed. The white ceiling above him seemed to blur and dull beeping noises could be heard.

Xero blinked trying to make sense of his surroundings. His entire body ached in pain but there was something else a weird sensation that spread through his limbs like static electricity under his skin.

And then it hit him. The voice. The one that spoke just before he blacked out.

Xero sat up ignoring the pain his bruised ribs. In front of him suspended in mid air was a thin holographic display glowing. He blinked again but the screen didn't vanish. It was real.

The words floated in front of him followed by a series of options and menus that he instinctively knew from sitting at home all day reading Web novels and manhuas. Xero's heart started to beat then he yelled 

"Status!"

Xero stared at his stats in disbelief. His weight was a shocking 360 pounds and the system hadn't even bothered sugarcoating the other metrics. His Aura was deep in the negative showing years of low self-esteem. There wasn't a single positive stat on the board.

Xero kept staring at his stats feeling shame then his eyes fell on the "Available Stat Points" section. Five points 

"Lets see if this works." Xero muttered to himself his voice shaky.

His hand hovered over the "Muscle Mass" option. If this system was real if it could really change him then this was the moment to prove it. He hesitated for a second then allocated all five stat points into Muscle Mass.

Suddenly Xero felt a warm sensation spreading throughout his body starting from his chest then to the rest of his body. His arms twitched involuntarily and he could feel the muscles tightening and shifting under the layers of fat.

Xero's heart pounded as he brought his hand to his bicep feeling it. It wasn't just fat anymore. There was actual muscle underneath firm and solid. Xero's eyes widened in shock. The system was real. It was actually working

"This is real." Xero whispered a grin slowly spreading across his face. "This is actually real!"

Xero's hands clenched into fists. He was tired of being the loser the beta the one everyone hated on. If this system could really change him if it could give him the power to fight back to mog on those who had mogged on him… then he was all in.

Xero was lost in thought when he heard a ping
