On the other side of the city, Cray, whose real name was Kaiser, kneeled in front of his father who was drinking a red wine that was reeking of fresh blood in the air. In the lavish yet not so gaudy room, his father was a lone figure seated before him. It was the study room of the old vampire, with rank Prince several times higher than his own meager Baron. Even his own thralls were not allowed into this room, let alone Kaiser's.
Kaiser humbly informed all the information he had gathered in this small time through their various contacts after the exit of Dream Realm from the earth's dimension. Even though he was not in charge of relaying this information, he decided to come because he wanted to confess his own mistake as well.
Listening to detailed reports of various happenings around the city, the old vampire sighed. It was the most important time in the nearly five years combined history of this city since he had arrived here. So many things were happening simultaneously in this short frame of time, immediately after the departure of Shadow(Dream) Realm such that it appeared like that the arrival of this dimension had been like lighting a matchstick to the mountain of powder keg. It has at once broken the restraints that had held an uneasy peace in this city between the supernatural forces all this time.
It was like the breaking of the dam, with all water pouring out at once.
The old vampire on his wooden throne-like chair swirled wine in his glass, but clearly it was a subconscious action as his mind wandered elsewhere trying to formulate future actions that could benefit their family in this beginning of this period of turmoil in the city that had started with the suicidal action of the Shadow Weavers.
While he was busy contemplating, there was a pin drop silence in the room with no sound other than a slight vibration of swirling liquid in the glass. Infact, there was no sound of breathing also, as Vampires have very slight need of air to function and that need was fulfilled almost passively without them inflating their lungs at all. This serene silence continued for a few minutes until,
"Hmm...Kaiser, you did the right thing to escape, using the old fang of our ancestor, from the clutches of the Night watchers. I will not hold the loss of the precious fang against you."
Kaiser bowed further expressing his feeling of visible relief, "Gratitude father." honestly it was the only thing he was worried about. That time when Dream Realm descended, it wasn't the Markus of the Night watchers who had broken first from the freezing pressure of the realm but him, but only technically because he had fled even before descent of that mind numbing pressure.
Kaiser was already ready to escape the moment Markus jumped upon him, so much so that when Sky fell he was able to react almost instantly, escaping from there. Thus managing to not freeze there in fear like everyone else. As for his thralls, though his servants, he could not bear to leave them behind thus he also squandered some of the fang's power to teleport them away too.
"Can you summarize all the things that happened in the city once again, but this time in just a few sentences? It will help me concentrate."
Old Vampire drank the glass of wine with one gulp and then closed his eyes as he asked the Kaiser to recount information but this time in a summary form. It was his habit to summarize things like this to gain a slightly broader view of the picture.
"Yes, father." Kaiser acknowledged the request of his father as he started to lay out info one by one.
"The Night watchers were first to reach the Umbra headquarters followed by other forces, but they found everything erased to the bare grounds; with not even buildings surviving. Now at the place where Umbra headquarters used to be, only a little rubble stays there amidst the large barren land devoid of anything, even roads around are stripped clear to bare ground.
The Moongrave who had attacked the Umbra might be reason behind the Umbra's suicidal action. They were too erased completely from the face of earth along with the whole of Umbra. Taking this chance, some presently still unidentified organizations attacked the Moongrave base together and culled the remaining werewolves. There are no more werewolves remaining in the city except for a few that may have escaped the net.
Night watchers and the Saints announced to the whole city that they are raising the priority of the rule of 'not hurting civilians' to the highest. Any breach would be declaring war against them. Several other human organizations have also repeated the same stance towards this rule.
Ghouls have seemed to recall their members back to their headquarters from the whole city, clearly they are trying to start something…. "
"I did not ask for your thoughts, Kaiser."
Suddenly Old Vampire interjected, making Kaiser freeze and then gulp dryly in nervousness. He had nearly forgotten what he was ordered to do. His father may speak politely and gently with manners, but one should never forget that they were talking in the audience to a Prince even if he was his own son.
"Yes Father.
Next, we also got this information, though legitimacy needs to be ascertained. There are no Shadow Weavers left on the whole earth. Shadow Realm's close proximity has an unseen effect on these shadow walkers no matter their locations on the earth. They were forcefully taken over by the will of the Realm and with the withdrawal of the realm they too were taken back with it.
Three Vampire families have contacted us separately to announce our stance as quickly as possible as a gesture of goodwill. They hinted at the beginning of war in the city, starting first from internal strife between Vampires themselves.
Witches appeared to have done no apparent actions, but some local civilian informers pawned the information on the internet that they have reliable news that few places in the wilderness of the city have witnessed the phenomena of clear unnatural actions of the wild animals.
Hunters have raised their rates collectively, likely discussed among themselves with the excuse that the possibility of war is becoming more and more possible in the city.
Cambions have been reported to be seen in the city in the dawn of the day. Reports suggest that Warlocks are summoning them without rest, to raise their position as the fall of Moongrave has opened a large gap in the power hierarchy of the city.
The Magus organization had secretly called reinforcements from their headquarters; it is recommended to expect the presence of at least two arch magus in the city from now on.
And other small groups are too small to be observed minutely….. "
