"Lina, where are you?" The voice crackled through the Teleric, pulling me out of my haze. I rolled my eyes.
As if she didn't already know my predicament.
"Nowhere important, just willingly resting in my room," I replied with dripping sarcasm.
"Really?"
"No, you absolute idiot! I'M STUCK HERE!" I snapped, abandoning any attempt at subtlety. If there was one thing I'd learned about dealing with this moron, it was that wordplay never worked.
Her laugh came through the Teleric, smooth and infuriating. "Oh, I know. I just wanted to annoy you."
Ugh. That annoying chuckle of hers made me want to strangle something. Preferably her.
"Alright, I'm hanging up," I declared, injecting as much dramatic flair into my tone as possible.
"WAIT! WAIT! Don't hang up," she said hurriedly, her voice turning serious.
I smirked. Works every time.
