I sighed, rubbing my temples as I stepped away from the counter. It seemed my plans would have to be put on hold. To participate in any mission, I needed a team. The minimum requirement was seven members, which meant I had to find five more people before I could even attempt a D-rank mission. This really threw a wrench into my carefully laid plans, which should have secured me a B-rank promotion by the end of this week.
"Hey," a voice called out, breaking my train of thought.
I turned to see a girl standing a few steps away, her broad smile lighting up her face. Suddenly, I noticed Lily's hand tightening around mine.
When did she even grab my hand?
"Yes?" I asked, trying to keep my tone neutral.
There was something familiar about this girl, but I couldn't quite place where I'd seen her before.
"I just heard from Tina that you're looking for a team," she said.
