"Why is that?" she had asked, anxiety tightening her chest. "Is it really that bad?"
The doctor, trying to remain calm, had said, "I'm sorry if I've worried you, but Maddie's showing signs of anemia. Hopefully, it's just a simple case, but we need to run more tests to be sure. A full examination will give us a clearer picture."
"Can't she just be treated at home, doctor?" Amelia asked again, her voice tight with worry.
The doctor sighed, trying to reassure her. "You're the one who mentioned your daughter's been dealing with this often, and that's not normal," he said gently but firmly. "Trust me, none of us want anything bad to happen, but if something serious is going on, being here means we can catch it early and handle it properly. It's the best way to make sure she gets the right care quickly."
