"Hey, are you okay?"
Kastiel's voice was laced with an unusual amount of sympathy, a tone he rarely ever displayed towards Rowan. The latter had covered his face with both hands, still struggling to come to terms with what Alaric was revealing.
Alaric continued speaking for almost half an hour, every word causing question marks to fill Rowan's mind.
A gentle pat on the back snapped him out of his daze, and Kastiel chuckled awkwardly at his childhood rival.
"I understand how you feel, it's frustrating for His Highness and me too." Kastiel said consolingly.
Rowan finally removed both hands from his face and looked directly at Carlton, but then quickly turned towards Alaric and Kastiel in turn.
"Is it truly believable, for both Your Highness and yourself?" he asked hesitantly.
Alaric smiled understandingly and seemed to have pondered Rowan's question from the very beginning, even though he didn't have an answer in his mind.
