Months passed quickly, and with them, the end of the year approached, bringing with it another special exam, which would be the last of the year.
Who would have thought that time would pass so quickly? Just a moment ago, I was saying goodbye to Anri, and now I'm almost a second-year student. The truth is that the passage of time can be terrifying.
However, nothing incredible happened during these months; my life was normal, as always, surrounded by the same people. Of course, there was a change in my appearance. Honami practically forced me to fix my hair, as it had grown long and messy. So I decided to make a small change in my look, which, as I see it, didn't go unnoticed by anyone.
I assume it looks good on me; with this face, I doubt it wouldn't. The girls always stared at me intently, so it was obvious that the change had been noticeable.
I've been reflecting on my relationship with Honami. I like what we're building; she is more open, and we do almost everything that couples normally do, except for kisses and sexual relations. Apart from that, I couldn't differentiate our friendship from that of a couple, and I don't feel uncomfortable with it at all. So I have an idea.
Maybe I still don't fully understand love, but I think Honami is someone who would help me discover it. I intend to ask her out after this special exam. What do you think?
Is it wrong what I'm doing, given that I still don't know what love is? Or do you think it's okay since I'm giving her what she wants, and thanks to that, she can help me learn more about this mysterious feeling?
For my part, I think it's fine. I've never gone out with anyone, so it would be a great experience for me. So, I suppose I'll have to give it a try.
Hoshinomiya-sensei talked about how much we've grown throughout this year and that we would now face the end-of-year exam. I hoped we would win since we were the best class, and things like that I didn't pay much attention to. I just hoped she would start handing out the papers with the exam explanation.
Luckily for me, the teacher quickly finished her speech and began distributing the sheets.
Event Selection Exam
General Description: The event selection exam is a competition in which each class chooses ten unique and known events, adhering to established time limits. A single class cannot register two identical events, and once selected, events cannot be withdrawn. If a class does not finish its event before the deadline, the school will select an event in its place.
Event Selection:
Each class designates:
5 Official Events: Events in which they genuinely wish to compete.
5 Decoy Events: Events designed to deceive the opposing classes.
The paired classes will compete in 7 randomly selected official events.
The classes must develop rules to ensure there are no ties during the events and describe the method by which a commander can intervene.
Bases and Participation:
Each event must require a different number of participants, excluding substitutes.
Participants per Event:
Minimum: 1
Maximum: 20 (including substitutes)
Students can participate in events for a second time, as long as all their classmates have participated in at least one event.
Commander Selection:
Each class appoints a commander responsible for the selection and intervention in the events.
The commander of the winning class receives private points; the commander of the losing class is expelled.
If a class does not appoint a commander, one will be assigned randomly.
The commander cannot be changed without a legitimate reason.
Commanders participate in a draw to decide the class pairings:
The winner decides which class to compete against, forming a pair.
The two remaining classes will automatically form the other pair.
Rewards and Penalties:
Each event is worth 30 class points. The winning class receives 30 points. The losing class loses 30 points. The class with the most victories in events receives an additional 100 points.
Maximum Points:
Win: 310 pointsLose: 210 points
The lack of points in the losing class will be temporarily compensated by the school.
...
After finishing reading the rules, it became quite clear that this exam would be a direct confrontation between classes. There are many points at stake, both for winning and losing, and this evaluation will serve as a measure of our performance throughout the year, as well as our growth, both individually and as a group.
This exam won't be as boring as the previous one. I wonder which class we will face, as it will be random. Personally, I hope it's Class B, which is closer to reaching a thousand points. I want it to level with the other two.
From now on, I have a lot of work ahead of me: preparing the events and training my classmates, both physically and academically, as the events can vary. I will need to design a training and study plan tailored to their needs.
I would like to win as many events as possible, so I am determined to train them even harder than before. The excitement is starting to grow within me.
I hope they don't break.
