...hahah.....well..
I'm screwed.
"My name is Elodie Eckart, the youngest daughter of Duke Eckart. I vividly remember my past life memories, which are only of the duke's daughter. Many questions plague my mind: If my soul is in Elodie's body, what happened to my original body, and what became of Elodie's soul? I have no answers. All I know is that the duke never loved Elodie; he hated her, blaming her for the duchess's death. The duchess died saving Elodie in a carriage accident when Elodie was just a four-month-old baby. Poor girl, she never received love from anyone. Whenever I sleep, these memories haunt my dreams. Every night, I dream of the real Elodie crying and begging, eventually burying herself beneath a fake mask of smiles. I don't know my past self, but one thing we share is our sorrow. I remember being an orphan, always trying to appear happy despite feeling sad."
"I sat by the window, gazing outside with a sigh. My personal maid, concerned, asked, 'My lady, do you need anything?' I replied, 'No, I just feel exhausted.' She suggested, 'Why don't we go to the garden, my lady?' I agreed, and we strolled through the gardens. She's the only maid who looks after me, the only one who works for me – or rather, for Elodie's body, which I now inhabit.
As we walked, I saw someone standing before me – Elodie's older brother, Young Duke Alex. He stared at me, and I recognized the scene from Elodie's childhood memories, which i saw in my dreams.
In those memories, he would say,
'Don't touch me,
you disgust me. You killed my mother.'
I took a deep breath and greeted him calmly, 'Good afternoon,
Young Duke. How have you been? Enjoying the garden?'
He retorted, 'It's none of your business.'
I ignored him and continued walking, leaving him shocked. In the past, Elodie would try to get his attention, hoping he'd treat her like a sister, but he'd scold her, and she'd cry and run away. This time, I chose to ignore him."
"I sat under the tree shade, feeling dizzy due to Elodie's weak body.
Emily, my maid, asked, 'My lady, are you all right?' I replied, 'Yes, Emily, I'm fine.'
Concerned, she offered, 'My lady, I'll fetch a shawl; you must be feeling cold.' I agreed, and she left.
As I gazed up at the autumn sky, the vibrant orange and yellow leaves caught my attention. I closed my eyes, and before I knew it, I fell asleep again. But my rest was short-lived, as I was plagued by another nightmare – a memory from Elodie's past.
In the dream, the Duke stood by the window in his office, while Elodie cried, pleading
,
....'Father, why...?....
..... Don't you ...love ...me..?' The Duke's response was heartless:
'Elodie, shut up! I never loved you. I didn't want you to be born. Your mother was sick, but she gave birth to you anyway, despite knowing it would put her life at risk.she survive but again she scarified to save you ...no... you killed her... I wish you had died that day instead.'
Elodie stood frozen, like a stone, as the Duke's words pierced her heart. I woke up, gasping for breath, and found tears in my eyes. I touched my face, wondering why I was crying."huh .....
"As I looked around, I saw the shawl on me - Emily must have put it there while I was asleep. I got up, still feeling a bit dizzy, and went back to my room, only to be confronted by Alex again. His piercing gaze made my heart skip a beat. I wasn't in the mood for his condescending attitude, so I ignored him and walked away. But he wouldn't let me go.
With a firm grip, he grabbed my waist and pulled me toward him. I felt a surge of anger and fear as he sneered, 'What are you up to this time, Elodie?'
I struggled to break free, my voice shaking with rage. 'Let go of me, Alex!'
But he only tightened his hold. 'No, I want answers first,' he growled, his eyes blazing with intensity. 'What's going on behind that fake smile of yours?'
I felt like I was suffocating under his grasp. 'Let go, Alex! Please!' I begged, trying to push him away.
But he wouldn't budge. 'Drop the act, Elodie!' he spat, his fingers digging deeper into my waist.
With a surge of adrenaline, I shoved his hand away, but my legs gave out beneath me. My vision blurred, and I felt myself falling. The last thing I saw was Alex's shocked face before everything went black."
