The dazzling light of morning sunlight filtered through the curtains as I woke, stretching my arms above my head.
My muscles ached slightly, a reminder of the night's vigil and the weight of unspoken anxieties about Cell. I could easily fall back asleep, but a sense of urgency kept me tethered to wakefulness.
Lazily, I reached over to the nightstand and grabbed my phone, blinking at the time. 10 a.m.
With a groggy mind, I closed my eyes and reached out telepathically. Piccolo, I called, sending my thoughts through the mental link "Any sign of movement in the ruins?"
After a moment, Piccolo response echoed back, calm and steady
"No movement ! everything's quiet "
Relieved, I broke the connection and dragged myself to the bathroom to freshen up. Cool water splashed over my face, and I felt some of the tension ease from my muscles as the fatigue began to lift.
After getting dressed, I made my way down the stairs, my steps light in the quiet of the house.
The living room was bathed in gentle morning light. I sank into the couch, grabbing the remote and flicking on the TV, catching the morning news. The screen lit up with footage from South City—smoke rising into the sky, scenes of devastation spread across the landscape.
"This was the scene last night," a reporter's voice droned, "when an explosion rocked the southern part of the city. Experts believe it to be the largest single blast the area has ever seen, resembling a nuclear mushroom cloud in size and shape."
Images of destruction flashed on the screen, entire city blocks leveled to rubble. I watched, knowing this was the result of Vegeta's sacrifice—the moment he chose to detonate himself in one last act against Cell.
"There are no current sightings of the creature responsible for the incident," the reporter continued, "but local authorities plan to monitor the area closely for the next three days. After that, reconstruction will begin."
I leaned back, processing the weight of the news. At least the city was empty now—no one left to suffer Cell's wrath, should he resurface.
As I mulled over the implications, I heard the creak of the front door opening, and I glanced over to see Celeste, Julia, and Mia stepping in, each of them carrying shopping bags.
"Hey!" Julia's voice was warm as she smiled over at me.
I smiled back, clicking the TV off and moving to help them. "Didn't expect you all to be out so early. Need a hand?"
"Just a few things for the house and some dress, " Celeste said, lifting her bag with a grin. Mia laughed, shaking her head.
As we talked, exchanging lighthearted words and laughs, I felt a welcome distraction from the grim events of the last few days. I learned that 18 had left for a jog earlier that morning, and her absence tugged a bit at my thoughts.
"If 18 comes back," I said, glancing at Julia, "let her know I'll be downstairs for a while, doing some training."
"Sure thing," Julia replied with a wink. "Guess we know where to find you now!"
After saying goodbye, I made my way to the basement, following the narrow staircase down to the reinforced doors below. The large, echoing chamber greeted me, and at the center stood a single dominating presence: the Gravity Chamber.
Inside, the air was cool and heavy, the metallic scent of machinery filling my senses. The chamber stretched out before me—a massive, circular room with gleaming, reinforced walls. With a deep breath, I stepped forward, feeling the floor hum faintly underfoot as the door sealed behind me. Here, alone in the silence, it was just me and the relentless pull of gravity, ready to test the limits of my strength.
I approached the central console and tapped a few buttons, setting the gravity to ten times Earth's normal pull. Immediately, I felt the weight drag down on me, my muscles working to keep me steady.
With each increase in the gravity setting, my limbs became heavier, but with every breath, I felt my determination deepen.
"Alright," I whispered to myself, voice resolute. "Time to warm up ."
----
After hours,
Inside the Gravity Chamber, I lay sprawled out on the floor, breath coming in ragged gasps, the weight of my own training pressing me to the ground.
The floor beneath was slick with sweat, a testament to the hours I'd spent pushing myself against the relentless pressure.
"After all that… feels like my arms don't even belong to me anymore," I muttered, barely able to lift a hand as I drew in deep, shuddering breaths.
Still with my consciousness I focus for the panel to appear , then the panel appears infront of me , but seeing the stats didn't give me much joy as it was with in my expectations .
