The next day I headed into work and Sally passed me my apron. "I think you owe me a thank you for convincing boss that you were sick so he counted it off as a sick day, so you're welcome." Sally said as I put on my apron. "Thanks."
I saw the door open up this would be the first customer today, EEEEEEEEEK! Its Liam! "I'll take my normal order please." He said with a brisk smile as he approached the counter, I went to the coffee machine and started his order. when I was finished with it I went up to the pickup counter where he was already waiting.
Liam handed me the money and I put it into the register, he then leaned over the table and whispered. "I hear boss has something special for us tonight." Then he left, I was still star struck that we were dating at all.
"You must really be in love with him huh?" Sally said looking at me with a smile, I nodded I knew I had to have been blushing right now. But the thought of doing a special mission tonight was kinda scary, I wasn't sure what it'd be yet.
That night after work I headed into the boss's office to discuss the new mission tonight, when I walked into the office Liam was standing there waiting for me as usual with the boss nearby. "Todays mission will take place at a love hotel, the owner has been murdering the customers mid act. Our client has nearly been killed this way, the reward for this job is a good amount. All you need to do is go there, book a stay and wait for the owner to appear and then you kill him."
I glanced over at Liam trying to keep my composure, I had never been to a love hotel before even if it is just for a mission and nothing else its still quite the place. Me and Liam left the office and headed on our way to the location, Liam had a great poker face so I could never tell what was going on in his head.
When we arrived at the hotel we walked inside and booked a room, the whole way up to the room my legs were shaking. This was not only a embarrassing place to be but everything was so awkward right now!
When we walked into the room Liam just took a brief look around the room and plopped on the bed, he looked over at me and patted the bed next to him. "C'mon might as well lay down while we wait, shouldn't take to long you know." I walked over and laid down on the bed next to him, I looked over at Liam as he yawned.
"Are you tired?" I asked as Liam nodded. "Been a long day so far, not to mention this bed is really comfy." He said as he spread out a bit more. "I suppose it is." I was trying so hard not to show how nervous I was about being here, I knew we were here to work and nothing else but it was still so awkward!
It had been nearly 2 hours of us waiting at this point, Liam was hardly awake anymore. He quickly sat up though none the less, he looked over towards me and then around the room. "There's cameras in the room, their probably waiting for us to do something. Would you mind if I made it appear that we were? Its necessary for the mission after all." He said looking me straight in the eyes, I wasn't sure how he was going to make it look that way but I knew that we had to do what we had to do.
"Its fine with me as long as you have a plan." Liam nodded and climbed on top of me placing his legs in between mine, spreading my legs around his. He leaned down close to my neck and just kinda like stayed still, my heart was pumping like crazy. Just being in the position was making my heart pound out of control, behind Liam the door to the room slowly creaked open and a man was standing in the hallway the shine of his gun was unmistakable.
I grabbed onto Liam's hips and moved him out of the way as quick as possible, he tumbled over onto the floor in the quick action of the move. The gun was shot and barely missed Liam, I reached for my knife when the man standing at the door quickly approached me and grabbed my hand pulling it away from the knife.
The man then pushed me back and pinned me to the bed, I looked over to see that Liam was barely moving. Maybe this man thought he shot Liam and Liam was being sneaky but I couldn't figure out my next move, I couldn't move under his weight. I tried to wiggle out but I couldn't, the man above me started to grin as he reached out to the bed stand and grabbed my knife he held it up to my neck and started to slowly graze down my core.
Fear struck me as I started thinking back to the days of my middle school and teenage years, before anything else could take place Liam stabbed him in the back with a knife the mans body went limp and toppled over. Liam went over to me. "You good?" He asked as I got off the bed. "Yup, doing great." Liam smiled and handed me my knife that feel out of the mans hands when he fell off the bed, I dragged his body into a closet and we left the hotel.
I went home and plopped onto my bed, all the things that happened tonight weighing on me. I picked up my phone and sent Liam a text.
Wanna talk?
I laid on my bed and stared at my phone waiting for a response when my phone buzzed and a message popped up.
Liam: Sure, watcha wanna talk about?
Anything tbh.
Liam: Well tonight's mission was something wasn't it?
Sure was, a lot happened in a short amount of time.
Liam: Sooo when do you wanna officially go on a date?
How about this weekend?
Liam: That works, well I should go to bed so good night. Love you Ash <3
Love you too <3
Well now that Liam is going to sleep I should sleep too, as I turned over in my bed to sleep I heard glass shatter. I jumped up off my bed and ran into the kitchen in my pajamas, I saw someone standing in the kitchen next to a broken window. I flipped the lights on and saw it was a girl, maybe around my age.
She slowly staggered towards me and held a gun to my head, that's when I noticed I was unarmed without my knife or katana right now. "How do you even plan to sleep at night after ruining my life? You killed my father, now all I have left is my mom and two siblings. And you expect to get away with it? I hate you blood moon." Now that I looked at her she did look a bit younger, maybe even under eighteen but I did also notice that she was the girl in the picture that I found in one of the gala attendees pockets the other night.
"Now now, no hard feelings. It was simply a job, just some business." As the words left my mouth she fired a quick shot aiming for my head, luckily she missed and I bolted to the kitchen and grabbed a knife. "I wish you didn't come here for your revenge tonight, because now I'll have to kill you too. Quite a shame, wasting your life for revenge. I almost feel bad for you." I lunged forward at her as she hurriedly tried to shoot at me but missed every shot, it seemed she has run out of bullets.
I stabbed my knife into her stomach and she started to cough up blood, I watched as her eyes started to dull. "Nighty night." As she died I searched her for any sort of an ID when I found her ID it seemed she really was over eighteen, I also found a set of house keys on her. I managed to track her house and put her dead body down on the front steps, putting her anywhere else would be to risky.
When I got home is was nearly 3:00 am, I looked at the broken window in my kitchen. I made up a excuse in my head about playing frisbee in the house and put a frisbee outside to make it believable, I went to bed and figured I'd get it repaired tomorrow.
When I woke up I went to get ready for work, after I showered and got dressed I remembered to call the repair guys. I called them and waited for them to show up, I then texted Sally to let her know I might be a bit late today.
When the repair guys showed up I told them a little story about having some friends with kids over and how they threw a frisbee through the window, they replaced the window and I rushed off to work right after. When I stepped into the coffee shop Sally waved me over to the counter and handed me my apron, the shop was quite busy today.
"Wanna hang out after work?" Sally asked as I tied on my apron. "Sure!" After I responded I quickly got to work on the coffee's while Sally did the front desk, After our shifts ended me and Sally took a walk down the street. "So have you applied for a collage yet?" Sally asked as we passed a crosswalk. "Not yet, it kinda slipped my mind." It really had slipped my mind, I nearly forgot about it with everything else going on right now.
"Well you really should look into it, getting education and a good job should be a top priority. By the way, what does Liam do for work? I noticed that he normally always has a suit on." She had a point about needing a good education and a job, although it didn't seem too needed since I made tons with my job as a assassin. "I'm not sure what he does, but he owns his own company though"
Sally practically gasped. "He owns a company?! But he's in his 20's!" I honestly didn't know how Liam had a company either with him being so young but oh well. "Not sure how, maybe it was passed down from his parents or something." I'm pretty sure he said that his parents died a long time ago.
As we were talking I felt a arm wrap around my shoulder and when I looked back it was Liam. "Sup! What'd I miss?" He asked with a goofy grin. "You scared the crap out of me you know." Liam just brushed off my words. "How about we all go out for dinner tonight, I'll pay." He said rather cheerful. "I would love to but I need to go home and apply for a collage, see you guys tomorrow though!" Sally said as she walked the other way, she would never turn down free food but I suppose she wanted us to have some time to ourselves.
Liam walked with me to a really nice restaurant, it was the nicest one I had ever been to. When we sat down and I opened the menu I knew that there was no way I could let him pay for something so expensive. "Hey uhm Liam, I'll pay for my own food." Liam looked up from his menu and smiled at me. "I said I would pay, and plus I chose this place so get whatever you want."
He was always so nice but mostly everything on the menu was over 20 dollars except the kids menu, I ordered one of the cheaper things on the menu when the waiter came back around. It was a steak which was probably going to be rather good, I can't remember what Liam ordered since I was too busy staring at him instead.
When the food arrived Liam looked at me in anticipation as I cut a piece of the steak and ate it. "Is it good?" He asked as I started chewing, when I swallowed I answered. "Yeah its great, how's your food?" Liam took a bite of what also looked like a steak and said. "Its good, I actually got the same thing as you." He said as he took a sip of his water.
"You seem quite chipper today, did something happen?" I asked as Liam looked at me with a big grin. "Yup! My company has a new business partnership, its a pretty big deal too. It should be quite beneficial for both parties." Liam was practically beaming, this had to have been something really good for him.
"Thats amazing! I'm so happy for you!" As the night went on we just talked about normal topics, it was kind of refreshing in a way. Everything felt lighter then usual it was a nice change, as the night came to a close Liam walked me home that night. I can't remember the last time I felt so good.
