Evelyn swung the knife with a fierce grunt, but the man caught her hand, blocking the attack. He swiftly counterattacked, trying to stab her.
Evelyn deftly blocked it with her other hand. Both of their knives were now pointing towards each other's chests, their arms trembling with exertion.
Both grunted, their faces inches apart, as they wrestled for control. Evelyn's eyes widened as the man's strength proved too much.
He overpowered her, forcing her to drop the knife with a pained cry. Now, he had the upper hand, his knife inching closer to Evelyn's face, threatening to strike her neck.
The only sound was their heavy breathing, filling the tense silence. As the blade grazed her neck, Evelyn's breath caught in her throat.
She struggled to overpower her assailant, but his grip was unyielding. Just as all hope seemed lost, a swift attack from the side sent the man flying.
Landon delivered a precise roundhouse kick, striking the assailant's chest with a loud thud. For a moment, the man teetered, his eyes wide with surprise, before stumbling backward and crashing to the floor.
"Are you okay?" Landon asked, his voice soft with concern, as Evelyn felt his reassuring presence beside her.
She swiftly hugged him, her body trembling with fear, and Landon could feel her racing heart as he wrapped his arms around her, holding her close.
"It's okay," he whispered reassuringly, stroking her gently on her back in a soothing motion, his touch calm and comforting.
"I was scared," Evelyn told him, her voice trembling. "I thought I was gonna die." She started crying, and Landon's grip on her tightened as he tried to comfort her.
"I know, it's okay," he whispered softly. "You're safe now."
But their moment of comfort was short-lived, as the assailant got up from the floor, knife in hand.
Landon's gaze snapped to the man, his eyes narrowing into an intense glare. "Get back behind me," Landon told Evelyn, his voice firm and commanding.
The assailant sneered, but Landon stood his ground, unwavering. "I don't know what drove you to this," Landon said, his voice firm, "but you clearly intended to harm this woman. Now, be prepared to face the consequences."
"Consequences," the assailant sneered, breaking his silence with a menacing laughter. "I was told to kill only the woman, but since you're in my way, prepare to die!"
He growled aggressively, his voice dripping with malice. The assailant charged with his knife aiming for Landon's throat.
Landon evaded the attack with ease, as if it were nothing. But the assailant didn't give up, relentless in his pursuit of delivering a lethal blow.
He struck again and again, each attack swift and deadly, but Landon dodged and weaved, avoiding every strike with incredible agility, without even being touched.
The assailant's mind raced with thoughts: "He's anticipating my every move, like it's child's play. He's toying with me. And now that I think about it, I didn't even sense his presence when he first attacked me. Who is this guy?"
"Damn you!" The assailant's face twisted in rage as he charged towards Landon.
His wild swing sent the knife slicing through the air, mere inches from Landon's face. But Landon stood firm, his eyes locked on the assailant's, his grip like a vice as he caught the assailant's wrist.
With a swift and precise motion, Landon delivered a solid punch to the right side of the assailant's chest, just below the collarbone.
The assailant's eyes widened in shock and pain as he stumbled backward, his legs buckling beneath him. As he felt himself losing consciousness, his mind racingly thought, "What pressure points...? He must have hit...?"
His thoughts trailed off as darkness consumed him, his body going limp and crashing to the ground.
Evelyn's eyes widened in shock as she witnessed the sudden takedown. "Who are you?" she asked, her voice in shock.
Landon turned to face her, standing over the unconscious attacker. "I'm Landon, Landon Ryujin," he replied calmly. "And you should probably call the cops."
