Chapter 234 - Chapter 234 I'll Cooperate!

On the other side, the old director at the clubhouse, already tipsy, was having a great time with two of the young hostesses. Although he was over fifty, his enthusiasm was undiminished. After all, as the saying goes, "To die under the pomegranate skirt is to be a ghost with charm."

However, he probably didn't realize that this time, he was truly going to meet his end under the pomegranate skirt.

Downstairs, Chu Muhan, dressed in casual clothes, strode into the clubhouse. Despite not wearing any designer brands, her natural beauty made the security guards at the entrance swoon and swallow nervously.

The manager, who was flirting with the receptionist in the lobby, had no time for infatuation. He hurriedly retreated to the bar. He had previously been caught in a brawl by Chu Muhan, and recognized her immediately. Back then, he had even foolishly thought about trying his luck with her, believing that his experience and looks could win her over. However, after learning that Chu Muhan had worked as a narcotics officer and discovered her impressive background, he quickly lost interest. Seeing her was like a rat seeing a cat; he avoided her at all costs.

Chu Zhijing's fear of his daughter was self-inflicted. Due to the tragic death of her mother, who had been abandoned by Chu Zhijing, Chu Muhan had harbored a deep hatred for the Chu family. After graduating from the police academy, she became a narcotics officer and severed all ties with the Chu family.

Chu Zhijing, worried about his daughter's safety, tried to persuade her several times without success. He then used some underhanded methods to transfer Chu Muhan to the criminal investigation team, which further strained their relationship.

Once in the criminal investigation team, Chu Muhan, with some free time, began digging through old cases in the archives. She discovered many unresolved cases connected to the Chu family and decided to pursue a path of justice against her own kin.

But this path was long and arduous. With the Chu family's methods, how could she possibly gather solid evidence?

Unfortunately for her father, his good intentions were met with ingratitude, and his precious daughter became his number one target.

Luckily, she now had a bit of solace. She wondered if the little girl would still recognize him when she grew up.

Seeing Chu Muhan enter the elevator, the lobby manager quickly used the intercom to contact the staff upstairs, instructing them to warn all the "mommies" to be discreet and to get rid of any prohibited items as soon as possible. Although Chu Muhan wasn't wearing her police uniform or accompanied by anyone, her reputation for being a stern and principled officer meant that her presence was never a good omen in such places.

The "mommies" upstairs were momentarily caught off guard. Usually, the boss would receive advance notice whenever there was an inspection, but this time it was so sudden. Without caring about what was happening in the private rooms, they rushed to knock on doors and issue warnings.

However, it was all too rushed. Chu Muhan soon emerged from the elevator and, as if guided by a GPS, headed straight for the private room where the old director was. Ignoring the staff's attempts to stop her, she kicked open the door. Inside, the three people were disheveled; the two hostesses were alluring, and the director had his pants halfway up, staring at Chu Muhan in shock.

Unperturbed, Chu Muhan took out her phone to record and mockingly said, "Director, you really are dedicated to your work, aren't you? So busy that you can't even put on your pants properly!"

The director, flustered, pointed at one of the hostesses and stammered, "She...she...she accidentally spilled wine on my pants. I was just about to dry them!"

Chu Muhan smiled wider, "I'm giving you a chance. Will you confess to your dealings with He Baobao?"

The director swallowed hard and feigned calmness, "What dealings? I don't understand! I'm just here to unwind because of work stress... Who are these two girls? I don't know them!"

Chu Muhan scoffed, closed the door, and pulled out a small bag of white powder, shoving it into the stunned director's hand. "I used to be a narcotics officer. With this amount, you're already facing the death penalty."

The director was stunned for a while, then in a state of terror, threw the powder on the ground. "What are you doing? How dare you frame a public official? Do you know I'm good friends with your bureau chief? I'll definitely file a complaint against you!"

Chu Muhan sneered and looked at the two hostesses. "Did he say he was going to sell this to you?"

The two hostesses nodded without hesitation and recounted a fabricated transaction in vivid detail.

The director was bewildered. He never imagined that these two hostesses were Chu Muhan's informants.

Tonight, Chu Muhan had tracked He Baobao to the clubhouse and had seen the director sneak in, which led her to set up the frame.

The director, enraged, said, "So you all conspired to frame me? Hmph! I'm upright, so I'm not afraid of shadows! I'll lose my iron rice bowl if necessary! But you, Officer Chu, are breaking the law!"

Chu Muhan took a deep breath. "Then come with me for a urine test."

She paused and added mockingly, "Didn't you notice you were unusually excited tonight?"

The director was stunned again, slowly turned to look at the drinks on the table, and then glared at the two hostesses.

Chu Muhan said, "Don't look anymore. Let's go. The evidence is overwhelming. You're finished!"

The director's scalp tingled, and he broke into a cold sweat. His legs went weak, and he kneeled in front of Chu Muhan. "Officer, I understand your intentions. I'll cooperate. I'll cooperate fully!"

An hour later, at the criminal investigation team.

The director confessed everything, revealing all his dealings with He Baobao and even providing information about He Baobao's cousin.

"I only got to know him through his cousin!" The director said bitterly, "It was just a moment of greed…"

"Save it for Director Ji. I'm not interested," Chu Muhan said. "As for tonight's events… You can judge the seriousness compared to drugs and harassment. You know what to say."

Chu Muhan's face was dark, and she glared at the director before heading off to capture He Baobao.

Before she left, the team leader pulled Chu Muhan into his office. He hesitated for a moment before finally saying, "Muhan, you didn't used to handle things this way."

Chu Muhan gave a bitter smile. "A young life was senselessly wasted. Are we really going to wrap up the case hastily? There's no need to follow the rules with these scoundrels!"

The team leader pursed his lips and said nothing more. He felt that ever since Liu Min's case, this partner of his had undergone some changes.
