The four brothers were unleashing their full firepower, almost covering the entire front, forcing the enemy back to the factory gates. Although the opposing side still had a factory building as cover in the front, their flanks were fully exposed to the sight of that blonde girl.
"Now's the time!" Xiao Qing took a deep breath, steadied herself, and decisively pulled the trigger.Bang! Bang! Bang! Two of the enemies had already been hit by stray bullets, leaving only six. Focused entirely on dealing with Chu Yuxuan and the other three, they didn't even have time to react before Xiao Qing took them all down.
The girl never missed a shot. Following her master's instructions, each bullet was aimed at their groins, then at their hands. The shots weren't lethal, but they effectively disabled the enemy from continuing the fight.
Not only were her shots precise, but she also fired in such rapid succession that there was almost no time for aiming in between. Even Lao Si, a former special agent well-versed in firearms, was in awe.
Hitting a target from 400 meters away is a piece of cake for any sniper, but doing it both quickly and accurately is incredibly challenging. Snipers rely heavily on talent, and it was clear that this girl was born for it.
After a fierce battle, things finally settled down. Chu Yuxuan exhaled a long breath, just beginning to relax when a loud explosion suddenly erupted from the southwest. Chu Yuxuan turned toward the sound, noticing flames blocking the only road leading to the factory.
Soon after, Xiao Qing reported in, "I saw it! Three cars were blown up, and one is speeding away. Qiuzi is blocking it, but I... I don't have a shooting angle!"
"Forget it. Let him go," Chu Yuxuan sighed, pausing before instructing, "Stay up there and keep watching the area."
"Yes, Young Master," Xiao Qing replied.
The one driving away was likely the one controlling the drones. Although Chu Yuxuan had shot down the drone earlier, the gunmen all wore earpieces, so their commander was fully aware of the battlefield situation. It was pointless to kill him now; he had already reported everything to whoever sent them.
At that moment, two of the surviving bodyguards approached, their faces filled with terror and guilt. Their job had been to protect the young master, but they ended up being the ones protected by him. But honestly, did the young master even need protection? "Only the two of you left?" Chu Yuxuan asked with a frown.
"Yes..." one of the bodyguards nodded stiffly. "One got shot in the head. Another... was hit in the legs, but a stray bullet killed him."
Chu Yuxuan felt a mix of emotions but took a deep breath before saying, "Let's finish up here. We'll discuss the rest later."
The group gathered the survivors in another factory building and then split up. Lao San led the two bodyguards to extinguish the fire in the first building, Lao Wu fetched the equipment and his computer from the oil barrels, while Chu Yuxuan and Lao Si began interrogating the remaining gunmen.
Unlike the criminals Chu Yuxuan had interrogated before, these gunmen had lived dangerous lives, likely with countless deaths on their hands. They wouldn't be easily swayed by threats or bribes. While cleaning up earlier, one of them had even tried to pull out a gun to commit suicide, but Lao Si swiftly severed his hand, preventing him from succeeding.
Sometimes, dying wasn't as easy as it seemed.
Chu Yuxuan lit a cigarette, glaring coldly at the defeated enemies, some kneeling, others sitting in a row. With a slight smirk, he said, "I'll say this once: only one of you will live. Tell me what I want to know, and I won't break my promise."
The gunmen, all crippled and writhing in pain, glared at Chu Yuxuan with hatred, but none spoke. Only the one Lao San had knocked out earlier seemed less injured, though his expression was just as full of rage.
Casually, Chu Yuxuan loaded his gun, selecting two of the most severely injured gunmen and executed them without hesitation.
The remaining gunmen didn't cower in fear; instead, their hatred only intensified. Chu Yuxuan wasn't surprised. He holstered his gun, patted Lao Si on the arm, and left the building, calling Chu Zhiqing to report that he was safe. Then, he called Li Bin to send the actors home and asked the family's two bodyguards to drive over to the factory to pick them up.
As the screams from inside the factory reached a fever pitch, Chu Yuxuan didn't even glance back, calmly sitting on the steps outside, smoking a cigarette. Before long, Lao San, Lao Wu, and the two bodyguards returned, panting from their tasks. Not wanting the bodyguards to have nightmares from what was happening inside, Chu Yuxuan sent them to wait by the gate.
Lao San and Lao Wu exchanged knowing glances—they could tell from the sounds what Lao Si was doing inside—and they sat down on either side of Chu Yuxuan.
"Honestly, that emotionless guy reminds me of that top chef, Hannibal..." Lao Wu muttered. "Oh, my God, but Hannibal wouldn't flay people alive. Jack the Ripper seems more fitting for him."
"Some things just need to be done," Chu Yuxuan chuckled. "We're all going to hell anyway... and they don't deserve to live."
Lao Wu shrugged, "You're not wrong... These idiots shot through the oil barrels, and now my $40,000 custom-built computer is full of holes. Look at this, two huge... uh... what's the word for 'hole' again?"
Chu Yuxuan glanced at the two gaping holes in the computer and said, "Kū."
"Right, d*mn it... two huge kūs."
Chu Yuxuan: ...
Lao San couldn't help but laugh, "Big brother, you smacked him so hard he learned the word for 'hole.'"
Lao Wu replied, "Shut up, monk. I know what 'bì dōu' means—it's a slap."
"Do you want me to slap the sh*t out of you?"
"Do you want me to puke on you?"
Outside the factory, the conversation was light and casual, but inside, it was a brutal, inhumane scene.
Chu Yuxuan wasn't in a hurry. He had plenty of time. Although the night's results hadn't been perfect, there had been some gains. The gunmen might still be stubborn now, but Lao Si's relentless methods would eventually break someone.
There's no greater agony than the inability to live or die. That's why the true culprit from ten years ago had gone to such lengths to silence Liu Jun.
But now another question lingered: why hadn't Liu Jun's daughter made any moves yet?
Chu Yuxuan had a growing suspicion that his earlier assumptions might have been wrong. Could it be that there was another reason Liu Jun wasn't silenced back then? And where exactly was his daughter?
Either way, Liu Jun's corpse had served its purpose—it had finally flushed out the snake.
Hopefully, tonight, they could extract some useful information. With Lao Si's methods, someone would talk eventually. The only concern was that the gunmen themselves might know very little and have nothing valuable to share.
Chu Yuxuan sighed, reaching for his cigarette pack, only to find it empty. Frustrated, he crushed the pack and tossed it aside. As he pulled his hand back, he accidentally brushed against Lao San's side, feeling something sticky on the back of his hand. In the darkness, he couldn't tell it was blood, but he could smell it—a faint metallic scent. His heart sank.
"San, you've been shot?"
