Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: The new Beginning

Alex woke up, panting and drenched in a cold sweat. His heart was racing, and his breath came in quick, shallow gasps. The room around him was brightly lit, and the faint but rhythmic sound of a ceiling fan filled the silence. The scene appeared normal at first glance—ordinary, even. But Alex knew better. Something was deeply wrong.

Just moments ago, Alex had been peacefully asleep in his own bed, surrounded by the familiar sights and sounds of his room. Now, he found himself in an entirely different environment. The sheets beneath him were softer, the air smelled different, and everything in the room was foreign to him. Panic surged through his veins.

"Am I kidnapped?" The thought sent a chill down his spine. "What is going on here?"

He scanned the room frantically, searching for any clue that could explain his situation. But the more he looked, the more questions arose. Why was he here? What was this place? A thousand thoughts raced through his mind, each one more unsettling than the last.

Alex's fear intensified. The possibility of being kidnapped and sold to some mafia gang loomed large in his mind. But even in the midst of his terror, a strange curiosity bubbled up inside him. "Who would want to kidnap me? What could they possibly gain from it?" He couldn't help but wonder about the motives behind his abduction, assuming that was what had happened.

Frustration quickly followed. Alex had a lot of projects to complete the next morning, and now, thanks to whatever this was, all his plans were ruined. "How am I supposed to finish my work now?" He could already picture his team leader's angry face, disappointed by his failure to deliver. But then, a sudden realisation struck him.

"Oh! Actually, I don't have to do all of those projects, do I?"

Despite the bizarre situation, Alex's mind wandered to how he could skip work. What kind of job had him so stressed that even a possible kidnapping couldn't keep him from thinking about it? The absurdity of it all almost made him laugh.

But then, something caught his attention—his hands. They were tiny, much smaller than they should have been. His pulse quickened as he stared at them in disbelief. "What the hell happened to my hands?" He flexed his fingers, expecting to feel the familiar grip and strength he was used to, but they felt weak, like a child's.

His eyes darted around the room until they landed on a large mirror hanging on the wall. He hesitated, then slowly approached it, dread pooling in his stomach. When he finally mustered the courage to look at his reflection, his heart nearly stopped.

The face staring back at him was not his own.

A young boy with wide, innocent eyes and soft features stood in the mirror, his mouth open in shock. Alex's expression shifted from confusion to outright horror as he rubbed his eyes and looked again. But the image didn't change. It was still that boy—still the same unfamiliar face.

"Holy sh*t!" The exclamation slipped out before he could stop it. "Who is this kid? Is it me?"

He stumbled back, collapsing onto the soft bed behind him, his mind reeling. "Am I transmigrated or what?" His thoughts spiralled as he tried to make sense of what was happening. "I have to find out where I am... and which world this is."

As his initial panic subsided, Alex began to take in his surroundings more carefully. The room was meticulously arranged, blending modern comfort with traditional design. The walls were painted a calming shade of blue, adorned with beautiful landscape artwork that seemed to draw the eye and soothe the mind.

In one corner of the room stood a traditional wooden desk, its surface littered with scattered books. The sight of the books filled him with an inexplicable sense of comfort. Whoever this boy was, he seemed to be a book lover, just like Alex had been.

But it was the bag on the desk that truly caught Alex's attention. It was a simple fiber bag, unassuming yet somehow significant. He approached it cautiously, curiosity gnawing at him. When he opened it, several items spilled out: a calendar, a diary, and an official-looking letter.

His heart skipped a beat when his eyes landed on the letter. The words on the front were printed in bold, elegant script: "The Letter of Acceptance." His pulse quickened, and he could feel the blood rushing in his ears. Another beat skipped—thankfully, his heart seemed to be handling the shock reasonably well.

"Am I in the Harry Potter world?" The thought sent a thrill through him. He felt a mix of excitement and disbelief. Could it really be true? Could he have transmigrated into the world of Harry Potter, the magical universe that had been a huge part of his childhood?

With trembling hands, he unfolded the letter, eager to confirm his suspicions. As he read the contents, a slow smile spread across his face. The letter was straight forward and formal:

Dear Alex Turner,

Congratulations on your successful admission to Kalika Manavgyan Secondary School! We are pleased to inform you that you have been accepted into Class 8 based on your impressive performance in the entrance examination.

You ranked 43 out of 100 selected students, a commendable achievement. We are confident that you will contribute positively to our school community and excel in your academic pursuits.

Please find enclosed a school calendar, a guide to our rules and regulations, and information about our history. We look forward to welcoming you on your first day.

Sincerely,

The Admissions Office

The letter looked sincere but had a slight, and unmistakable sense of superiority.

'They sure are indifferent.Looks like they don't even care If I attend school or not.' He mused.

Was it because of his seemingly low rank in the accepted students rank or it was the nature of the Nation Number 1 government School, that didn't matter. He was quite sure that if he performed greate in the upcoming classes, their tone will soften.

Anyways, everyone cares about straight-A students, not some random backbencher guy.

As he was preparing to fall asleep, a soft mechanical sound resounden in his mind, followed by a dark-blue holographic screen.

[Ding! Host, wake up]

Alex shot upright, his heart pounding.

"Who is it?"

Even thought he had a hope, he didn't thought he will get a system this early. The fantasy novels he used to read, had an unspoken rule that they will debut the system after the protagonist got in some trouble or he had already reached 100 year world. That was not common but frequent. Some novels include: "Getting the system at the age of 100 years", "100 years old system wielder." and so on.

The system was his golden finger and he had to use it wisely.Being too arrogant and high-profile leads to unnecessary trouble. But the question was, "What actually do you do and what is your type?"

Before the system could answer, he was thinking about countless possibilities.

'Is it a Harem System, a Hollywood actor system, billionaire system, a superhero system, a multiverse travel system, or a villain system?'

'Getting a harem is interesting but not practical.Just the thought of getting more than 1 girlfriend seem impractical. In this modern world, harem tag is only for novels and webnovels, thinking about enjoying it in real life is dumb or just ignorance. So, I will be unlucky if I get one but I don't know the rules and regulations, sociatial morals and normalcy of this world.Maybe harem and pologamy is completly legal and normal here, maybe? That would be fun!'

The thought of getting a harem system made him excited and worried, but he was sure that there are countless posibilities.

These were all his thought and in reality there was just a secon spent.

"I am your system," the voice replied, calm and mechanical. "You have been chosen."

"Chosen for what?" Alex asked, his mind racing. "What are you?"

"I am here to assist you," the system explained. "I can show you your stats, your gathered skills, and I will provide missions for you to complete. Completing these missions will unlock new abilities and information."

Alex blinked in surprise. "So you're like a game system?"

"In a manner of speaking," the system replied. "But there are things you must discover on your own. I will not reveal everything at once. You must complete the missions to unlock more features."

Alex considered this for a moment. It was strange, but then again, everything about his current situation was strange. "Alright," he said finally. "Let's see what you've got."

As he lay back down, his mind buzzing with the possibilities, the system's voice faded away, leaving him alone with his thoughts. This was it—the beginning of his new life. And as Alex closed his eyes, he knew one thing for sure: he was ready for whatever came next.
