Squeak!

The whistle sounded, signaling the start of the game. The two teams took their positions on either side of the net:

- **Left Side:** Akira, Tsukishima kei, Yamaguchi (Tsukishima's teammate).

- **Right Side:** Kageyama, Shoyo Hinata, Ryunosuke Tanaka (second-year student).

However, Tsukishima on Akira's side seemed uneasy. He kept glancing at Akira, as if the pressure from him was almost unbearable. The calmness he usually had was completely gone.

Across the net, Kageyama's expression showed a deep-seated dislike for Akira, his gaze fixed on him with anger.

After a quick confirmation from both sides, the game officially began. Yamaguchi served first, sending a high ball over the net, but it was easily received by Tanaka.

Akira and his teammates prepared to block the upcoming attack.

Yet, Kageyama's behavior suggested he wasn't as calm as he appeared. He felt an overwhelming sense of dread – a familiar feeling of hopelessness.

As he tried to find weaknesses in Akira and Tsukishima's block, he suddenly met Akira's gaze.

The smile on Akira's face made Kageyama feel a cold sweat trickle down his forehead, as if all his inner worries were suddenly exposed.

From the sidelines, Daichi and Sugawara exchanged concerned looks. "What's wrong with Kageyama today? He doesn't seem to be in a good mood!" Daichi commented.

"Yeah, it's just a friendly 3v3 – no need to be so tense, right?" Sugawara added. "Do you think Daichi's earlier words scared him?"

"No! Absolutely not! How could I scare him?" Daichi quickly denied.

Meanwhile, Hinata, eager to play, brightened at the sight of Kageyama. "Kageyama!" he called out, his excitement overflowing.

Performing a powerful spike had always been Hinata's biggest dream during his three years in junior high – where he was the only boy on the volleyball team.

Now, with teammates around him, he finally had the chance for a well-timed pass. As Kageyama instinctively directed the ball towards him, Hinata cheered, "Great!! Set the ball to me!"

"This will be memorable – my first goal in high school!" He leaped into the air. "I'm going to score!"

Even Daichi saw Hinata as a promising hope for the future of the volleyball team. Despite being only about 160 cm tall, Hinata's jumping ability was as good as Tsukishima's, who was nearly 190 cm!

But this time, Akira was ready to block.

**Smack!**

Hinata's powerful hit slammed against an unbreakable wall, bouncing back with speed. He landed on the ground, looking disappointed.

"Come on next time!" Akira encouraged with a friendly smile.

"Wow, this newcomer named Akira has incredible reflexes!" Sugawara exclaimed, excitement rising.

"He moved from one side of the court to the other in no time!"

"That's right," Daichi added, nodding approvingly. "Based on this performance, this newcomer isn't as unskilled as we initially thought! He has a strong foundation!"

However, Akira's next move challenged Daichi's earlier conclusions.

**Phew!** The volleyball zipped over the net, and Akira effortlessly received Tanaka's spike.

"A little higher!" he instructed Tsukishima.

"Okay!" Tsukishima responded almost automatically. By the time he realized something was wrong, it was too late – the ball was already approaching.

"Wow, even if Akira asks for a higher pass, Tsukishima doesn't need to throw it that high!" Daichi remarked, but then his voice trailed off.

He stood, amazed, watching the impressive figure jumping high on the court. Sugawara, too, was shocked.

They could see clearly from the sidelines that Akira's eye level, when he jumped, was much higher than Kageyama's blocking ability!

**What an extraordinary jump!**

Kageyama was practically left defenseless against Akira's attack. Even players who didn't have much experience knew how dangerous an unblocked smash was!

**Smash!**

A thunderous smash fell, sending shockwaves through the court. **Score!**

"That jump…" Sugawara stammered, turning to Daichi. "Daichi, what were you about to say?"

Daichi stood there, speechless, realizing how wrong he had been about Akira. The game had just begun, but it already seemed like everything was about to change.

😮‍💨

"I..." At this moment, Daichi felt that the ball Akira had just spiked wasn't just buckled on the floor.

It was also hitting him right on the head. Now the whole court seemed dizzy. Tanaka on the field shouted excitedly!

"Wow, Akira, you're so good!"

"What kind of spike was that just now! I didn't react at all!" He ran over, gripped the net tightly with both hands, and said to Akira on the other side of the net.

"It's just a normal spike, senpai," Akira scratched his head embarrassedly. It was as if he were saying, "This is just basic; why are you reacting so much?"

This casual response left everyone speechless, with black lines forming on their foreheads.

"Okay, stop standing around stunned! The game continues," Sugawara shouted from the rear.

Squeak!

As the game resumed, everyone once again felt Akira's overwhelming strength. The more they watched, the more impressed they became.

"Ah, he blocked that ball too?"

"This spike... just watching it feels so powerful!"

"Yeah, it even deflected Tanaka's arm!"

"Wow! That timing was perfect!"

"This... How does his setting skills look so strong? Was he a setter before?"

"This newcomer is really skilled at everything!"

...

As the game went on, the score difference gradually increased.

Kageyama started feeling anxious. The revenge he had planned seemed so far away.

He had worked so hard, thinking he had improved a lot since before. He believed that when he faced Akira again, he would finally win.

But standing opposite him now, he realized just how weak he truly was.

The revenge he had dreamed of, the scenes he had imagined where he would dominate Akira... now seemed completely ridiculous.

This terrifying person, Akira, felt like an endless pit. The closer Kageyama got, the more he realized how big the gap was between them.

"One more ball!"

Unlike Kageyama, Hinata's biggest strength was his never-ending determination. With boundless energy, he quickly shook off any doubts and pushed forward.

But sometimes, hard work isn't enough. Even if Hinata gave it his all, breaking through Akira's blocks at this stage was impossible.

"Wouldn't it be better to use your 'kingly' sets?" Tsukishima teased from the sidelines.

"The ones that are so unreachable that discourage your teammates too?"

His words hit Kageyama like a shockwave.

"Those kinds of sets that get you kicked off the team?"

"You don't have to go for a quick attack every time. Or... are you still worried about that game?"

Tsukishima turned to glance at Akira, curious to see Kageyama's reaction in front of his former rival – the one who had defeated him before.

But Akira didn't say anything, watching the scene unfold with quiet interest.

This was Kageyama's moment of change. Without experiencing this, he would never truly grow. Until he realized the importance of teamwork, he could only be a strong setter – not a great one.

No team wants a selfish setter.

Akira knew this better than anyone. Back in Middle School, he had used a similar extreme style of play because the team's talent level was very low.

He had no choice but to control their every move, raising the entire team's skill level by himself.

While Kitagawa Daiichi's coach was right that Akira's teammates were not very skilled, Akira's leadership made them better than they were.

He guided their actions with precision, turning six average players into one strong team.

By using his teammates and his own immense talent, Akira led his Middle School to dominate Kitagawa Daiichi, despite their individual weaknesses.

In contrast, Kageyama's recklessness and inability to think about his teammates had isolated him.

---

"Isn't there still me?" Hinata's voice broke through the silence as he reassured the discouraged Kageyama.

"This isn't middle school anymore! It doesn't matter what kind of pass or set it is – I'll spike it!"

---

Was this the birth of Karasuno's Monster Duo?

Akira watched the scene with a

smile, but beneath his calm demeanor burned a competitive fire.

That monster quick attack Hinata and Kageyama were about to unleash...

Let me experience it too!
