Chapter 30 - Chapter 30: Rampaging Puff Ball

When Choco, Marsh, and Pierre was put into a wagon filled with sacks of dango, the hoarders grinned at each other, satisfied with their haul for the day.

"Sweet! I wonder if the boss will reward us for catching these guys." Said the carrot guy.

His fellow mushroom pal couldn't take his eyes off of Pierre, admiring the beautiful patterns on his fin tail. "Damn, a whole Cherrymaid. She's so beautiful! Can't I take her home and have her for myself?"

"In 'yer dreams, we gotta take this to the boss before dawn. Come on now."

"Ughhh, whatever."

Then as the hoarders rode the ponycorn pulling the wagon, Pierre managed to chew a hole out of the bag covering his head. "Phew..." he looks over to his side and found Choco and Marsh squirming like worms with all their limbs tied up and their face covered as well.

Pierre chews off the rope tying his wrists together and broke free, and he proceeds to chew off the ropes restraining his friends. As they took the bags off their head, they were all upset being caught so easily.

"Who are these people!?" Choco yelled in a whispering tone.

"Shh. I think they're bandits smuggling some resources here." Marsh explained, peeking through a hole on the walls where he can see the bandits.

Choco gritted his teeth, grabbing a couple of dango and squeezed it in his fists out of anger. "I can't believe I got kidnapped so easily."

"Hmm, I think I can control these kids with my voice." Pierre suggested, both Choco and Marsh got interested with the idea. "Can you control them with your voice without hypnotizing us too?" Marsh asked.

"Nope, but I can guarantee that I won't lay a finger on the two of you when you're under my control." Pierre even smiled sincerely, raising both his thumbs to back his words, though words alone wasn't enough to convince the likes of Marsh. "Uhh, I don't think so."

"Let's just attack them from behind and tie them up." Choco was itching to get back on their captors.

"Yeah... and we can take their wagon too. We could use this to carry Pierre without a sweat!" Marsh thought, and the other two agreed.

"That'll make things faster and easier." Pierre grinned, "Can I eat one of 'em though? I'm kinda getting hungry."

"Sure/No." Both Choco and Marsh answered in unison, but Marsh crossed his arms at Choco making him roll his eyes. "Fine, you can't eat them."

"Aww." Pierre pouted.

"Just chew on this man." Marsh shoved a dango in his mouth, "Now how should we attack these—CHOCO!"

And without a warning, Choco recklessly broke through the wagon's thin wall, pouncing on the carrot guy. "You bastard! How dare you kidnap us!?" Choco started punching him on the head.

"Argh!!—OUCH! What the heck!? STOP! OWW!"

"CARRA!"

The ponycorns got startled by Choco's stunt, making them run faster. As Choco had the carrot guy knocked out, he turns to the other guy with an intimidating smirk plastered on his face, "You're next!"

"AAAHHH!!" The mushroom guy jumps off the wagon, leaving his partner without a second thought. "HEY! GET BACK HERE!" Choco called out.

"You reckless idiot!" Marsh complained as he sat at the front wagon, "One of them jumped out!" Choco alerted, staring at the mushroom guy fading out his sight.

Marsh noticed that there's a couple of trees ahead and so he took the leash controlling the ponycorns, "Come on, help me slow them down!" He yelled, Choco quickly holds on to the leash and pulled it together with Marsh, signaling the ponycorns to slow down and stop.

When the ponycorns calmed down and ran slower, Pierre wiped the cold sweat off his forehead. "Phew, I thought we were going to crash and die for a moment."

Then as the wagon completely stopped, Marsh and Choco panted, catching their breaths after the nerve wrecking moment.

"Idiot! What were you thinking!?" Marsh yelled as soon as he recovered.

"You pretty much agreed to my idea, so here we are! We got this wagon to ourselves now, YOU'RE WELCOME." Choco professed, "And we still have that guy to question." he pointed to the carrot guy he knocked unconscious.

Still, Marsh was upset over his recklessness, "Ugh, I just wish you can be more careful next time."

"Geez, so much for taking initiative." Choco mumbled, rolling his eyes again.

As they take a stop, Pierre tied up the carrot guy and placed the guy beside him inside the wagon. And by the time the carrot guy woke up, he was shocked to see Pierre looking over him with a huge smile displaying his sharp teeth, "AAAHHH!"

"There, there. We don't want you making any loud noise, alright?" Pierre tried hushing him, "Or do you want me to shut you up for good?" He asked, chomping his teeth.

"N-No!" The carrot guy quickly shakes his head.

"Good boy." Pierre pats his head and shoved a dango in his mouth to keep him quiet. "Now let's go and continue the search!" He insisted.

"Ugh, I'm still sleepy though." Choco yawned, stretching his arms and leaned to the wall as he closed his eyes.

Marsh shakes his head as he takes the leash in his hands, "Fine, go ahead and rest, I'll take the lead for now." He whips the leash, making the ponycorn walk again. "Giddyap!"

"Sweet." Choco grinned, quickly falling asleep later on.

"Alright Pierre, where do you think we should head to?" Marsh asks.

Pierre checked his hand that was supposedly holding the orb, but his gasped at his empty palms. He tried rubbing his eyes, blinking many times, but the orb really disappeared!

"Pierre?" Marsh called out to him again, making Pierre startled. "Ah r-right! T-The orb's telling me to go straight ahead!" He lied.

"Got it." Then as they continue to move forward, Pierre cringed after losing the orb. He looks over to the carrot guy and whispered, "Hey, do you got the special lil' orb on you?"

"N-No, I think my friend has it though."

"Sh*t." Pierre grinned, "Oh well, nothing can possibly go wrong... r-right?" He laughs nervously. The carrot guy only shrugged at him, feeling a little nervous in the presense of this beautiful beast.

And so, the search for Pierre's wife continues.
