Chapter 21 - Chapter 21: If There's A Way In, There's A Way Out, Part 5

A part of the plan was for Choco to intervene during the time when the clam master is about to bestow his punishment upon Raisins, but with the door locked, there's no way Choco will know when to execute his part.

"Darn it—LET ME OUT ALREADY!" He demanded, banging on the door for one last time before he resort to another method.

He would've escape through a window, but the only entrance or exit this room had was this door. "Tsk! This sucks." He uttered, scratching his head, clueless what to do next.

Choco looks over to his room, and began to look for anything he can use to break down the door. There was hardly anything when the only thing the room had was a bed and the lamp lighting the room.

"Hmm..." he had to think for a moment, even attempting to think like Marsh so he'd figure out what to do in the situation. "Ugh, I don't know what to do! If Marsh was only here, he'd probably know how to get us out of here..." he looks down and clenches his fists, but he suddenly came up with an idea.

With no other choice, he goes to the bed and tried disassembling the bed frame by stomping on it over and over until some of its parts fell off. After he managed to get a hold one of its poles, he proceeds to hit the door with all his force until he made a hole.

"Aw yeah!" Choco grinned, feeling relieved that he can escape with his plain brute force.

The raisin servants guarding the guest rooms from afar was surprised to see one of the doors getting busted, "Crap! One of the guest is escaping, block the door at once!"

They ran fast as they could to prevent Choco from escaping, but their old scrawny legs were too slow that Choco finally got out by completely tearing down the door. He looks over to the guards, his gaze had them intimidated, "Where's the clam master?" He asks.

The guards swallowed, they were afraid to confront this strong young man but they didn't want to get punished for failing the clam master's order, "W-We can't have you roaming around the temple at this hour, t-the clam master—"

"Fine! I'll find him myself!" Choco ran past through the guards and searched every room, but all he saw was a bunch of old raisins doing their business.

"Where the crumb are they!?" He was starting to panic, imagining that Raisins was probably dead with how long he was taking, but then the room where he found Marsh flashed into his head. "The altar!" He exclaimed, rushing to the room.

As he sprinted through the long halls, everything he discussed with Raisins earlier played in the back of his head, reminding him of the horrible history of this village;

Raisins stood before him and her fellow sisters, beginning with how her people ended up visiting the Sweet Kingdom, "As far as I can remember, we used to be grapes like the clam master, devout followers of our divine beliefs from the Fruit Empire. We travelled all the way to Sweet Kingdom to deliver a prophecy to King Sugar Cube VIII, but he banished us and so we had to travel through the dangerous layers of the kingdom..." Raisins explained, "...that's how we all got trapped inside this stupid Pop Rock Clam, trying to survive with what we had left. Then clam master appeared out of nowhere, giving us hope inside this dark clam with his magical miracles, there was not a day when we starved or depressed when he arrived. But his act brainwashed our people, making everyone abandon their divine faith and believed in him instead."

Choco intently listened like never before, he knew he was sensing something strange from the clam master, but he never thought it was that bad.

"Soon, we slowly aged and wrinkled into these forms, slowly forgetting about the concept of time in this dark hollow place, and slowly forgetting about ourselves..." Raisins ran her hands through her arms, seeing how much she's been drained and aged, "...I lost count of the years passing by, I even lost myself as I start to believe in him like the other does." She grits her gums as she regretted losing her faith once.

"But after one faithful day, I secretly took a sip of the clam master's exclusive wine out of curiosity, and things started to change in my head—that's when I realized, how come the clam master never aged like we did? How did he make all those miracles happen? How come we never doubted him from the start?" It gave her goosebumps to continue, "...and why we never stopped him from killing our fellow people while he let us watch him do it."

"Y-Yikes..." Her words striken Choco, giving him a shiver in his spine as he found out how cruel the clam master can be.

Once again, she stares at Choco with her utmost serious desperation as she begged him, "I know this may sound absurd and ridiculous, but we need your help, Choco. Our strength alone can't defeat the clam master."

Turning back to the present, Choco was even more determined to beat down the clam master to save the raisin people and Marsh from the grasp of this monster.

"CLAM MASTER!!" He yells as he made an entrance into the altar room, interrupting the ritual-like act that's being done inside.

The clam master was on the verge of stabbing Raisins, with a few servants holding her down and the other raisin people watching from the sides. However, Choco's sudden appearance caught him off guard. "How did he get out!?"

"Choco! I thought you'll never come." Raisins felt relieved to see him made it just in time, but Choco was taken aback by this gruesome situation. "What the crumb are you doing!?"

"SEIZE HIM!" The clam master ordered, and every raisin servant in that room tried to restrain Choco as he struggled to make his way to the clam master.

While the clam master was distracted, Raisins tried to sneak her off the altar though she was pulled back into position. "Don't think you're gonna get away with this!" The clam master tries to stab her again.

"Sh*t!!" Raisins tried to resist him with all her strength, pushing away his arms but he was too strong, and the knife he was holding was slowly getting near her face.

"Raisins!" Then Raisins sisters who was pretending to watch at the sidelines stepped in, pulling back the clam master with their might combined.

"Argh! What the hell!?" The clam master got pissed, seeing that he's getting a hand full of problems.

"Girls! Keep him restrained!" Raisins ordered as she got up.

The clam master tried to escape their restraining grasp, but they were holding him back with no intention of letting him go, "You!—I've always knew you were up to no good, I SHOULD'VE KILLED YOU EARLIER WHEN I HAD THE CHANCE!" The clam master got frustrated.

"Why are you doing this, clam master? We trusted you! We believed in you! But what you're doing to our people is outrageous!" Raisins pulls him by the neckline of his robe, "I demand you return our memories and tell us what you're planning to do!?"

Instead of answering her with the truth, the clam master gave her a sinister grin, "What's there to return when it's already consumed?"

"W-What?" Raisins was caught off guard.

Then the clam master called out to his servants, "HEY! GET THESE OLD HAGS OFF OF ME!!"

A few servants rushed to help the clam master, and Raisins was forced to fight them back, "Guys! Stop this! The clam master is our enemy, don't let him get into your heads!"

"You're the one who must be stopped, you're rebellious actions to the master is unacceptable!" There was no use trying to convince these avid followers.

While Choco was still struggling from all the servants getting in his way, his eyes caught glimpse of one of the servants holding Marsh's purple orb along with his book, he changed his direction to snatch the orb away from that guy. "Hey! That belongs to the clam master!"

"Then I'll return it to his face!" Choco threw the orb at the clam master's direction, everyone mostly stopped and gasped when the orb smashed through the clam master's face.

"Hah! Bullseye!" Choco sneered.

"F*CK!!" The clam master cursed, he managed to pull off from the raisins restraining him as he held onto his face.

Choco used this chance to force his way to the enemy, kicking him down to the ground. Raisins pushed off her stunned foes and gestured at her sisters to rush and pin the clam master to the ground. "Don't let him get away this time!" Raisins told her sisters.

"If I see anyone who dares to make a move, I won't hesitate to bash his face again!" Choco threatened, making everyone freeze on their tracks. Then he got on one knee and gazed down at the clam master, seeing his face damaged terribly, "Give it up, clam master. Release these people from your control!"
