"Huff, huff…" after battling with the jellypumas, Choco can barely run a straight line. His eyelids were starting to feel heavy, and his legs was about to give up from all the running. Eventually, he fell on the ground from exhaustion and lost consciousness.
Coincidentally, the Arachnotoffee encountered him on its way to hunt him down. The beast took Choco and wrapped him with its toffee web. After that, it carried him on its back and goes on to return to its cave.
However, when the Arachnotoffee entered its cave, it got upset seeing that its toffee web was in shambles. "HIIIISSSSS!!!" It lets out a deafening shriek that woke Choco up.
"What–huh!?" He was surprised to find himself at a different place, his eyes went huge as he noticed the sticky toffee web wrapped all over his body. He quickly caught on that he was captured by the Arachnotoffee as well. "What the crumb! You darn beast, what sorcery did you use to capture me!?"
The Arachnotoffee began to collect all the prey that fell off the web, some were still there while some managed to escape. The beast was upset now that it had to hunt for more before holding a feast later to feed on.
"Hiiisss…" Then it swiftly began to meticulously reconstruct its toffee web, and then stacking its food.
Marsh who was hiding and watching from the sidelines observed that the Arachnotoffee was holding on to Choco, probably wary that it might escape like he did. "Oh, freaking gross! Eww!!" He heard Choco complain as the beast covered him with a second layer of toffee web from its butt.
Marsh started to panic over again seeing that his friend got captured and can be eaten anytime. "What do I do, what do I do…" he muttered in a quiet tone. There's no way he can fight that huge beast all by himself and rescue Choco with his bare hands.
He flinched when the Arachnotoffee hissed once again, and have gone outside the cave. "H-How!? How in the world am I going to save Choco from THAT thing!? I don't have any weapons nor there's anything useful around here, and even if I do find one, I don't even know how to fight it!" He started pacing over a short distance, racking his mind of ideas to rescue his friend.
Though no matter how much he tried to think, he just can't think of anything but to run away like a coward. He sighed and leaned on the wall outside the cave, running his hands over his face. "Maybe this is it… this is where we part ways." He tried convincing himself.
Fear got the better of him, leading to that decision.
Marsh looks over the exterior wall of the cave, looking pained and guilty of his cowardly decision. "I'm sorry, Choco. I don't think I can save you; I was never cut out for adventures like this anyway… I-I'm really sorry." He started walking away, wiping a few tears as he took a few steps away from the cave.
"That's right, walk away. Walk away and never look back, there's nothing a nobody like you can do…" He started to hear that very voice that kept reminding himself of how much of a failure he is. "…walk away like the coward you are. That's why you'll die from that –"
"I know! I know…" he admitted, but somehow, he wants to prove that voice wrong and deep down he was still torn over that decision. He can recall all the times he disappointed his family, getting bullied by the other kids, failed as a student and got kicked out of the academy, and getting abandoned by the only person he thought was his friend.
A loser like him can never do anything great or significant. He hangs his head as he kept walking forward, but then he heard Choco's loud scream, "AAAHHHHH!!!" He turns his head back to the cave's direction.
He slapped himself and quickly runs back, "Who am I kidding!? THERE'S NO WAY I'M GOING TO ABANDON CHOCO!"
And so, he sneaked inside the cave again, searching for Choco. This time, the Arachnotoffee wasted no time and tried feeding itself with the most scrumptious meal it had, and that meal was Choco. Although it was rather having a difficult time feeding itself as Choco kept retaliating. "Hah! In your dreams, you'll never get a piece of me!" Choco managed to kick the beast on the jaw.
"HIIISSS!" The Arachnotoffee was pissed.
Marsh gasped seeing his friend in big trouble, with no concrete plan in mind, he took some of the rubble in the cave and threw it at the Arachnotoffee to distract it from devouring Choco. "Hey, you monster! Stop and look here!" He yelled.
Hearing Marsh nearby made Choco smile, he looked over to his direction and felt glad and relieved after assuming he was already dead. "Dude, you're alive!" He hollered cheerfully.
And at the same time, the Arachnotoffee got furious at the sight of Marsh. "HIIISSSSSS!!!" It dropped Choco to the ground and started going after him.
"Uh-oh." Realizing what Marsh got himself into, he started running away from the Arachnotoffee. "AAAAAHHHH!!!"
In the midst of their chase, Choco gritted his teeth, in pain from the Arachnotoffee dropping him to the ground. "I'm gonna make that beast regret messing with me." He declared, "Now how do I get myself out of this sticky mess?"
Choco looks around and saw the field of Sugar Dream Peonies, he remembers Marsh talking about those flowers having sugar powder and started rolling to that direction. He kept rolling and rolling over the peonies, covering himself with sugar powder until he was able to pry himself out of the toffee web restraining him. "Ha-ha! Now for pay-back time!" He said as he rushed out of the cave to get his sweet revenge.
The beast slowed down from chasing Marsh as he went through a narrow path filled with nougat oak trees. It paved its own way by forcing itself through, breaking down each tree that it would encounter. Choco caught up with them easily and managed to sneak up behind the Arachnotoffee to graze one of its legs with his sword. "HIIISSSS!" The Arachnotoffee grew furious and shifts its attention to Choco.
"Yeah, that's right. Keep your eyes on me." Choco grinned.
"HIIISSSSS!!!" The Arachnotoffee used four of its front legs to attack him, swiftly swinging its spiky legs to hit and stab Choco.
It was too fast that Choco couldn't make even a single counter, he had to keep evading every leg attacking him. Though he was starting to understand the pattern of the Arachnotoffee's attacks, it swings two legs from the left side and repeats the motion on the other. Every leg that lands on the ground leaves a deep hole, making it clear that receiving a blow can mean instant death.
"Argh!" This time it was Choco who got grazed. His movements were starting to slow down, that made him realize that he can't keep evading forever. Meanwhile, Marsh saw how Choco was struggling from the relentless attacks of the Arachnotoffee. He quickly gathered all the branches he can get and yelled at Choco, "Choco! I'll distract the Arachnotoffee, you try to find a way to kill it!"
"Got it! But how can I kill this thing exactly!?"
"I don't know, figure that out! – HEY!" Marsh started throwing things at the Arachnotoffee again, trying to get its attention. The beast was starting to get confused on who to attack first, but it turned to Marsh and let out another deafening shriek. "HIIISSSS!!"
"Oh crumb, oh crumb!" Marsh was still afraid of getting chased by the Arachnotoffee, but he had his full trust on Choco to make the finishing move on this beast. Unexpectedly, the Arachnotoffee jumped and got ahead of Marsh to block his way ahead.
"AAAHHH!!" This sent Marsh into a complete shock, not knowing what to do, he ducks down and froze in place as the Arachnotoffee reaches out to grab him.
"Pardon me!" Choco used Marsh's back as a launchpad, soaring through the air and landed on top of the Arachnotoffee, he swiftly slashes through all of its eyes and making it completely blind. "HIIISSSSSS!!" It cried out and started moving in a reckless manner.
Choco had to jump off and take Marsh further away from the Arachnotoffee. Although the beast had lost its sight, it was capable of using its other senses to locate its target, now its other senses were heightened to a point that blindness wasn't much of a problem. It can hear Choco and Marsh talking, it can feel the vibrations they make on the ground, it followed its instincts and dashes towards them.
"Holy Sugar! It's unstoppable!" Choco exclaimed, he pulled Marsh away as the Arachnotoffee landed on their spot.
"How is this possible? I've already taken away its sight!" Choco said in disbelief, this led Marsh to a conclusion, "It can hear us! The Arachnotoffee can locate us from our noise–" Choco quickly covered Marsh's mouth when the Arachnotoffee turned its head to their direction.
"HIIIISSSS!" It started running their location again, and the two ran like their life depended on it. When they reached a fair distance, Choco stopped to push Marsh further away, "Keep safe and wait for me here!" He ordered.
"Wait, Choco! No, what are you trying to do!?" Marsh couldn't believe it when Choco seemed like he was going to confront the Arachnotoffee by himself, he wanted to stop his friend, but he remained standing as he watches Choco pursuing his reckless plan. Incapable of doing anything but watch things unfold.
As for Choco, he had this reckless idea of disabling the Arachnotoffee by cutting off its legs if it passes by him. So he either gets the chance to disable this beast and finish the job or dies from his stupid reckless plan. "One shot is all it takes." He told himself.
He got on stance when the Arachnotoffee was getting near, and as he calculated, the beast was about to go past him, he gladly took the chance and cut its legs instantly. "AW YEEEAAAHH!!!"
The Arachnotoffee fell down after losing its balance, squirming non-stop from the pain Choco inflicted, "HIIISSSSSS!!!" It cried.
Before it can do anything else, Choco climb on a tree and landed on the Arachnotoffee to stab and cut open its back. All of its guts and organs exposed and spilled out of its body, slowly killing the beast.
And finally, the Arachnotoffee stopped moving.
