Chapter 9 - Chapter 8

The next day, I didn't wait for Zed in the City Hall.

I entrusted the lawyer to submit a divorce application to the court. After that, I went to the countryside with Alice, Olivia, and several other colleagues.

The air in the countryside was very good, which greatly relieved the gloom in my heart.

Just as Alice said, life in the countryside was difficult, but I didn't care at all.

There were many cute children.

After work, I liked to bring snacks to them and play with them.

Listening to their innocent voices, I became more cheerful and smiled more.

"Nancy, you are smiling more. "

Olivia was sincerely happy for me.

"Since you like children so much, why not have another one?"

I laughed. "How?"

"I would like to have a child with you, but unfortunately, I am not a man and can't do that.

"But there are many men in the world except Zed.

"I can introduce someone to you. And Alice and other colleagues can also help you find someone better than Zed. "

I smiled and shook my head. I knew that Olivia was doing this for my own good and wanted me to get over the pain quickly.

After all, the best way to forget a relationship was to start a new one.

However, I had no intention of starting a new relationship, so I could only decline Olivia's kindness.

The half-month inspection ended quickly, and I was reluctant to leave the countryside.

The sky here was blue, the air was fresh, and people were hospitable.

Knowing that I was leaving, many children cried and wanted me to stay there.

I promised them that I would come back to see them often, and then I sent them home one by one.

The day before I left, Zed came to me.

He looked much more haggard than before, like a man in his fifties, but he was only in his thirties.

"Nancy, I can't forget you. Let's make peace. "

He looked at me excitedly.

Looking at the gray hair on his temples, I was a little dazed. I didn't expect that he would have changed so much.

"No. " I shook my head.

"You should have received the court's notice. Let's get a divorce when we get back. "

"No, I don't want a divorce. " He cried.

"Nancy, I know I was wrong. I am sorry for you and for the child.

"I swear that I will be nice to you in the future. Also, I have severed my relationship with Vivian and will never meet her again.

"Nancy, I love you. I really love you. "

I smiled.

If it was in the first two years of our marriage, I would have been very happy to hear him say he loved me so bluntly, but now I felt nothing but calm.

"Zed, it's over between us. From now on, we live our own life. We shouldn't see each other again. "

"No, Nancy. Don't leave. "

He wanted to hold me back, but a roar came from not far away.

"Zed, you left me behind and came here to find her. Why are you treating me like this?"

Vivian came over angrily.

Seeing Zed shrink his neck with fear on his face, I couldn't help feeling strange.

What happened between the two of them in the past half month?

I was a little curious.

But what happened to them had nothing to do with me anymore.
