"No way, let's run-!" Brit gritted his teeth and shouted.
The current situation is very critical. The corpse in front of him seems to be in a daze, and it seems that there are others outside based on the noises. If they all come over and trap them, then it's game over for them, they'll be eliminated.
After Brit finished yelling, the two immediately rushed out. There is only one door in the power control room, and they can only go around the corpse. They have no weapons and cannot attack, and the entire electrical control room is empty. You can't dismantle the steel power generation equipment of the few people on the ground and use it as a weapon, right?
"Let's split and get around it. Get around it-!" Brit called out in a low voice, and the two quickly walked around to the side, one left and one right.
The corpse was stunned for a moment, then its sluggish face aimed at Vale, and it rushed toward Vale.
"What the Hell?!" Vale's complexion suddenly changed.
It was too late to think, so he hurriedly flew toward the door for cover. He slammed into the door with a thud and Vale screamed in pain.
Brit also rushed to the door at this time and quickly pulled Vale up. The two turned their heads and looked, and were shocked. They saw several corpses, or zombies, appearing in the passageway of the room not far away. They all looked similar to the zombies in the electrical control room behind them.
"SH*T-!! Are these things really SCP-049?" Shouted Vale, "There are so many of them."
"I don't know, but let's leave now-!" Brit was also in a hurry, so he ran toward the elevator.
Fortunately, the door of the power control room is almost directly facing the circular passage where the elevator is located, so they don't need to fight the group of zombies, they can run away directly.
"FU*K-!, FU*K-!, MY A*S-!" Vale was holding his butt while running; apparently, the pain from the mysterious disease reappeared in his butt. But now the situation is urgent, no matter how painful Vale is, he can only push through.
Finally, after running wildly for a while, the two came to the side of the elevator they got off from, but the elevator doors are closed. Brit immediately pressed the button frantically.
CLICK-!, CLICK-!, CLICK-!, CLICK...
"FU*CKING H*LL-! Why is it so useless?! Are there also high-rise people who live here?!" Vale covered his butt and stared wide-eyed.
Brit took a quick look and then slapped his thigh: "Damn, there's no electricity."
"How could there be no electricity..." Vale was stunned; there was still electricity when they got down.
Brit frowned and thought hard for two seconds, suddenly his eyes widened: "Hey, I remember, the elevator system is on another power switch. It's at another location in the area, and it's marked on the schematic."
Speaking of this, Brit quickly took out the schematic of the area. Now that there is light, they can naturally see clearly. The structure of the entire area is clearly marked on the schematic, and soon the two found the location of the elevator power control switch almost immediately.
"It's right here, in the maintenance area opposite SCP-049 Containment Chamber." Brit pointed to the schematic and said.
"Go-!" Vale immediately turned around and ran wildly.
Judging from the schematic, they have to rush back to the passageway of the room just now, then it is inevitable to encounter those zombies, but there is no other option, as they have to take the elevator if they want to leave. And this area only has two elevators.
One is the one they came down from, and the other is on the other side of the Containment Chamber. They must rush back and turn on the elevator switch, or they can only stay here and die.
"Hurry up-!"
The two were running wildly, but before reaching the end of the circular passage, a zombie appeared. It looks like the one in the electrical control room just now.
"Rush over." Brit let out a low growl and ran with his head down.
Vale couldn't care less about clutching his butt anymore; he gritted his teeth and ran. They narrowly bypassed the zombie, arrive at the end of the passage, and turned to the left. As far as the eye could see, it was the passageway of the area that was much wider.
There is a door on the left not far from the front, which is the door of the maintenance area, and the elevator control switch is inside. And there is also a door open on the right, which is the Containment Chamber of SCP-049. However, several zombies have almost occupied the entire passage, so there was only a narrow gap between them.
"Hurry up, rush over and fight." Although it is difficult, the two of them could only bite the bullet and rush in.
And Vale raised his breath secretly. When he was about to come into contact with the zombies, he raised his foot violently and kicked a zombie to the ground with one kick. Seeing this, Vale roared excitedly.
"Damn, brothers. Is it tough or not? Hahaha!" But before Vale could enjoy his victory, the zombie kicked over by him grabbed his leg.
Vale's expression changed, and he struggled quickly, but the zombie's hands were like iron pincers, and he couldn't break free at all, even scratching his legs hurt.
Seeing this, Brit rushed over to help, but Vale waved his hands violently and shouted: "Brit, hurry up and activate the elevator. I'll stay here, so you can leave after starting the elevator. Hurry up-!"
Confusion flashed across Brit's face, but he is not indecisive; he hesitated for just a second, then immediately turned around and ran away.
"I'll try my best to beat the game."
"Run, monster-! Come to me-! Come to us all-! Come and die in blood and fire-!" Seeing Brit running away, Vale laughed and showed a "Bring it" hand gesture with his hands at the zombies next to him. [ T/N: From Grimaldus' speech to the defenders of Hive Helsreach. ]
Is he not nervous, not afraid? Of course, he is nervous and scared. Even though he knew it was just a game, the realistic environment and real zombies made his skin crawl crazily. But there is no other choice, for the team, he is willing to sacrifice himself.
And on the other side, with Vale attracting the attention of the zombies, Brit rushed into the maintenance area very smoothly, and he looked around quickly. As far as the eye could see, there were filing cabinets, tables, lights, pipes, and high-voltage electrical boxes. Most importantly, there was a console. There was also a wrench on it, and the name was marked next to it: [ Elevator Power Supply ]
"Found it-!" Brit shouted excited;y, then he quickly ran over and pulled the switch.
"It should be powered on." Brit looked at the console, and the lights on the console turned on.
"AHHHHH-!" The screams of Vale came from outside, and beads of sweat dripped silently from Brit's forehead.
"Everyone, I will definitely try my best to beat the level, so Vale won't die in vain." After saying that, Brit rushed out of the maintenance area. Looking to the side, he found that Vale had been pressed to the ground by several zombies.
Vale just happened to see Brit and pointed a bloody finger behind Brit: "Go...leave m...e..."
Brit couldn't bear it, but he turned around resolutely and left. The direction from Vale is the direction of the elevator they got down from, that road has been blocked; so he can only take another elevator in the area.
Brit felt a little sad. Even though he knew this was just a game, he still felt a deep sense of cruelty in his heart watching his teammates fall one after another. With a deep sigh, Brit quickened his pace and ran. At the end, he turned right, passed through a circular passage, and there was another elevator.
But Brit had just turned the corner when he heard another elevator start from a distance.
"Uh...is there anyone else here?" Brit was stunned.
But soon, his eyes widened, because he saw a person wearing a thick black robe and a beak mask coming out of the elevator.
"Ah, I didn't know we had guests. We rarely have people here."
