Chapter 141 - the first floor(1)

The labyrinth stretched endlessly around them, its oppressive silence broken only by the occasional distant growl of unseen monsters. The group pressed on, each step heavy with exhaustion and tension. Dakota's temper, already worn thin, simmered dangerously close to boiling over.

Dakota: "We need to get out of this place. Now."

His voice was sharp, the frustration clear. His hands burned faintly with embers of fire magic, an instinctive reaction to his anger.

Henry: calmly "We're trying, but it's not exactly easy to navigate this maze."

Ava: sighing "Yeah, it's not like there's a sign pointing to the exit. Let me try something."

Ava snapped her fingers, and a small burst of flame illuminated the corridor ahead. The flickering light revealed faint markings on the walls—subtle clues to the labyrinth's layout.

Lucas: "Good catch. Those markings might lead us out. Let's move."

The group followed Ava's lead, the tension palpable as they navigated the twisting passages. Time dragged on as they turned corner after corner, the oppressive atmosphere of the labyrinth weighing heavily on them. Finally, a faint light appeared ahead.

Mia: excitedly "Is that… an exit?"

Franklin: "Looks like it. Let's move before it disappears."

Dakota: already moving ahead "About time."

The group stepped out into blinding light, shielding their eyes as they adjusted to the sudden brightness. When their vision cleared, the sight before them left them speechless.

An enormous battlefield stretched as far as the eye could see. Thousands of heroes, clad in armor and wielding weapons glowing with magic, fought against an endless wave of monstrous creatures. The air was thick with the sounds of battle—roars, screams, and the clash of steel against claw.

Liam: in awe "What is this place?"

Jack: grimly "Looks like a slaughterhouse."

Franklin: "Heroes. Thousands of them. All fighting for the same thing we are—skills and abilities."

Dakota's gaze swept over the battlefield, his expression hardening.

Dakota: "This is the first floor. There are five floors in total. Each one as big as the largest city in the world. This is just the beginning."

Lucas: "five floor's huh... I was surprised when I first heard it from you, and each of them are as s big as the biggest city in the world... And All these monster look dangerous, I see Djinns and other creatures fighting the hero's. And they all look like mid-high ranking monster. Just how the actual hell are we supposed to survive this."

Dakota: "By fighting. By surviving. That's the only way."

A group of monsters broke away from the larger battle, charging toward Dakota's group. These beasts were massive, their claws gleaming like blades and their eyes glowing with unnatural fury.

Dakota: igniting flames in his hands "Get ready. No hesitation."

He launched himself at the nearest creature, a torrent of fire engulfing it. The beast let out a final, guttural roar before collapsing. The others followed his lead, springing into action.

Ava: summoning a firestorm "Burn!"

A swirling vortex of fire consumed two monsters, their screeches echoing across the battlefield. Henry moved beside her, hurling precise fireballs at another group of creatures, each impact leaving scorched craters in the ground.

Henry: "Ava, keep them distracted! I'll finish them off!"

Meanwhile, Lucas focused his ice magic, freezing a charging monster mid-leap. Its massive body shattered into fragments as Liam and Jack leaped in with synchronized lightning strikes.

Liam: grinning "That's teamwork!"

Jack: "Don't get cocky. There's more coming."

Mia and Luna worked in tandem, their water magic creating a barrier to shield the group from an ambush. Amelia stepped forward, her light magic cutting through the shadows and blinding the advancing monsters.

Amelia: "Stay focused, everyone. We can't let up!"

Franklin and Duke charged into the fray, their fire magic burning a path through the horde. The two men fought with practiced skill, their flames blazing brightly against the dark tide.

Franklin: "You kids keeping up?"

Father: with a smirk "They'd better be. This is just the first floor."

Between the waves of monsters, Dakota took a moment to observe the battlefield. The sheer number of heroes was staggering, but it was clear that even they were struggling against the relentless onslaught.

Lucas: breathing heavily "This is insane. How are we supposed to keep this up?"

Dakota: calmly "You fight. You keep fighting until you win or die. That's the only way to survive here."

Mia: annoyed "Easy for you to say. Some of us have limits, you know."

Dakota: sternly "Then learn to push past them. Or you'll never make it to the next floor."

Another wave of monsters charged toward them, forcing the group back into action. Despite their exhaustion, they fought with everything they had, each member of the group pushing themselves to the limit of their base from.

Amid the chaos, a familiar voice called out over the din of battle.

Father: "Dakota! Over here!"

The group turned to see Dakota's father and Franklin fighting off a group of monsters. The two men moved with practiced skill, their fire magic tearing through the horde. Within moments, the beasts were dispatched.

Franklin: grinning "Took you guys long enough to catch up."

Duke: sternly "You're late. This is no place for hesitation."

Dakota stepped forward, his expression unreadable but tense.

Dakota: "wow you're progressing fast father, can't you wait for us."

Father: "nah you guys are too slow, you better finish those monster faster."

Franklin: with a smirk "yeah you guys better do it faster, or else me and Duke are going to leave you behind."

Despite the tension, there was a sense of relief. The battlefield around them remained chaotic, but together, they felt a renewed sense of purpose. Dakota turned to the group, his tone commanding.

Dakota: "We're moving together from here. No splitting up. Understood?"

Duke: nodding "Understood."

With their group now united, they pressed forward, cutting through the horde of monsters with renewed determination. The battle was far from over, but for the first time, they felt a glimmer of hope. Together, they could survive the trials of the dungeon.
