Chapter 20 - Rome(3)

The next day arrived, and it was finally time to head to the water park. We were all buzzing with excitement, ready for an entire day of fun and thrills.

Dakota: "So, is everyone ready?"

Henry: "Yes, we are!"

Ava: "I'm so excited for this!"

Lucas: "Yeah, same here."

Dakota: "Alright then, let's hit the road."

Everyone piled into the car, with me in the driver's seat since I was the only one who could drive. It was a long drive—about an hour—but the conversation and laughter made the time fly by. Finally, we arrived at the Italy Water Park. The place was massive, packed with towering water slides, twisting tubes, wave pools, and lazy rivers. Just looking at everything made my excitement build even more.

Dakota: "Alright, we're finally here!"

Before we could enter, I had to park the car. After finding a good spot, I turned off the engine and looked back at everyone.

Dakota: "Alright, we're parked, so let's head inside!"

Ava: "This is going to be so much fun."

Henry: "Yeah, I bet it will."

Dakota: "Should we buy the fast pass?"

Lucas: "Of course we should! It'll save us a ton of time."

Dakota: "Alright, I guess we're all getting the fast pass. Works for me—I really hate waiting in line."

Ava: "Dakota, do you really have to curse so much?"

Dakota: "Yep. I like it."

Ava: "I've been telling you to stop for ages, but you never listen."

Dakota: "That's because I enjoy it."

Ava: "But why?"

Dakota: "I don't know; I just do."

Ava: "Fine, whatever."

We bought our tickets and fast passes, and then entered the water park. The place was packed, but the fast pass meant we could jump straight into the fun. There was no shortage of options, and every direction we looked, there were slides, pools, and attractions.

Dakota: "Alright, so which slide should we try first?"

Henry: "How about that single water slide over there?"

Dakota: "Good call. Let's go."

We made our way to the slide and took turns riding it. The slide was fast, sending each of us shooting down and splashing into the pool at the bottom. When we all finished, everyone looked exhilarated.

Henry: "Wow, that was awesome!"

Dakota: "Yeah, it was! And that was one of the easier slides. I'm looking forward to the scarier ones."

Henry: "Same here."

Amelia: "Do we really have to go on the scary ones?"

Dakota: "Yes, we do. Are you scared?"

Amelia: "Wh-what? No, of course not!"

Dakota: "Alright, then. Prove it by going on that slide over there."

I pointed to a massive slide that towered over the others. It had a steep drop and looked both thrilling and terrifying.

Amelia: "Fine, I'll do it. I'm not scared of a water slide."

Dakota: "But I made you that way—when I created you, I added a little fear of high slides or rides."

Amelia took a deep breath, squared her shoulders, and marched up to the top of the slide. After a few moments, she took the plunge. Her scream was so loud that it turned heads all over the park.

Dakota: "Holy... that was the loudest scream I've ever heard."

Henry: "I wonder if she's okay."

Dakota: "Oh? Are you worried about your 'girlfriend'?"

Henry: "What? She's not my girlfriend."

Dakota: "Not yet, but just wait until the future."

Dakota: "Are you seriously saying you don't like her?"

Henry: "I like her—as a friend."

Dakota: "We'll see if you're still saying that later on."

Amelia returned to us, looking both pale and a bit shaky.

Amelia: "That was terrifying."

Dakota: "So, you admit you're scared of water slides?"

Amelia: "Yes, alright. I admit it."

Dakota: "Knew it."

Amelia: "Well, why don't you go try one, then?"

Dakota: "Okay, I'll take the tallest one."

Amelia: "Oh, you'll be screaming your head off."

Dakota: "We'll see about that."

I climbed up the tallest slide, and as I took the plunge, I couldn't help but yell—but it was a yell of pure excitement, not fear. The thrill of speeding down from such a height was exhilarating.

Dakota: "That was incredible! I want to go again!"

Amelia: "You seriously didn't get scared?"

Dakota: "Nope, not at all. It was a thrill."

Amelia: "You really are something else."

Dakota: "Thanks!"

Just then, Ava came over, looking eager.

Ava: "Hey, Dakota, let's go on that two-person slide together."

Dakota: "Oh, the tandem slide? Alright, let's do it."

As we got on the slide, the operator directed me to sit in the front and Ava to sit behind me. I leaned back a little, but accidentally ended up with my head resting on Ava's chest.

Dakota: "Oh, sorry, Ava! I didn't mean to do that."

I felt myself blush a little as I apologized.

Ava: "Don't worry about it! Actually, you can keep your head there."

Dakota: "Uh, why?"

Ava: "Just because. Go on."

Dakota: "Alright, if you insist."

I rested my head back on her chest as we launched down the slide.

Dakota: "Woohoo! This is fun!"

Ava: "It sure is!"

When the ride ended, we climbed out, both grinning.

Dakota: "That was a blast, right?"

Ava: "Oh, definitely. So much fun."

Ava smiled, a little mischievously.

Dakota: "Uh, Ava, why are you smiling like that?"

Ava: "Oh, no reason."

Dakota: "Alright then…"

We regrouped with everyone, ready to share stories of the slides we'd been on.

Dakota: "So, how were the rides for you guys?"

Lucas: "They were amazing!"

Henry: "Yeah, super fun!"

Liam: "Definitely enjoyable."

Mia: "I loved it."

Jack: "I guess it was kind of fun."

Amelia: "I stuck to a small slide. No way was I going near the big ones again."

Luna: "This place is awesome!"

Dakota: "I'm glad everyone's having a good time, but just remember, tomorrow is the auction. We can't stay here all day."

Henry: "Yeah, we know. We'll just stay for a couple more hours and then head out."

Dakota: "Good plan. Now go enjoy the slides while we're still here!"

Everyone scattered to ride a few more slides, and a couple of hours passed in a blur of laughter, splashing, and excitement. By the end of the day, everyone was thoroughly exhausted but still smiling.

Dakota: "Alright, guys, time to wrap it up. Did you all have fun?"

Henry: "Oh, definitely. This was amazing."

Dakota: "Glad to hear it. But now, the fun's over—tomorrow's the mission."

Dakota: "Let's see if everything goes as planned."
